Genius concept. Not sure why it isn't implemented more often. Afters Cafe offers all the sweet tooth goodness in one. They offer premium frozen yogurt and toppings (better than the chains), great coffee and tea, and delicious pastries (including decent macaroons). Love the setting here. Colorful tables and stacks of magazines are available to pass time. One suggestion though. I like the fact that Afters Cafe has a loyalty rewards card, but there's three different sections. One for froyo, one for coffee/tea, and one for pastries. You have to get 9 of each in order to get the 10th one free, instead of 9 of whatever option you're in the mood for. read more

I love Afters Café! They have the cutest little treats and their froyo is delicious! I love their seating area and that they offer free wifi to customers. I came in with a co-worker and we were able to sit together, eat sweet treats and get our work done. My only complaint would be the limited flavors of froyo and that more often than not at least one isn't working. With a limited amount of flavors I was bummed to see that the one I wanted wasn't working while I was there. I came back a few days later and it was fixed thank goodness! Ps. It was a really hot day and we were looking for some ice cream or fro-yo to cool us down after lunch. Afters Cafe came up on Yelp, so we decided to try it out. They offer a wide selection of treats and drinks. You can get Italian Sodas, coffee, boba drinks, smoothies, small desserts, and fro-yo. I wasn't too impressed or wow'ed by their fro-yo flavors, but the one's they had were tasty and satisfying. Mango was about as "wild" as you're gonna get here as a flavor of fro-yo. Like many others, it's serve your own fro-yo from a variety of machines with different flavors, then you can add your own toppings, and pay via weight. The location is on the smaller side, but they have a nice couch section with all kinds of reading books available to you to relax from the heat. On nicer days, you can also use the patio lounge chairs they have out on the sidewalk. It's a nice place with a decent selection of offerings, but I'm just not sure what makes this place stand out beyond convenience. read more

Ordered the Rainy Night latte and Andy's Pumpkin latte off the creative menu. Both were very good. If you are not into artificial sweet lattes, the pumpkin is your best bet. If you want something sweet with hints of cinnamon and cardamom, the Rainy latte is smooth and delicious for the cold weather. Almond croissant was decent. Macaroons were a bit gummy and not as soft as other macaroons I've had. The atmosphere was pretty cold especially for being a 7pm visit. Overall coffee is a must! read more

My boyfriend and I were in Baltimore on a trip and came here for their bubble tea. It took the woman at the register around 5 times of us repeating the order for her to get it right (she was an english speaker and the order was not complicated at all. we just wanted fruit smoothies with boba). The smoothie was really runny and our orders took 18 minutes to come out, and their was only two other customers and two employees working. The interior decoration was really cute though. First ime here. Let's see if it's good. I would give this place 5 stars but, to my disappointment they had no sugar free flavor. I love frozen yogurt but, I am diabetic. I had my mouth all set only to be disappointed. However, I told my son to just get me a little of something. His choice was chocolate covered strawberry yogurt. Oh my goodness, I love this place!!! Have you hadYUZU yogurt before?!? It's freaking amazing and is now my favorite yogurt flavor. It's creamy with bits of yuzu (like lemon) peel and honey. Never had it, but will be back to have it again!!! SO refreshing and light!!! I love how they have so many different toppings, including mini yogurt chips which is my favorite, and most yogurt places don't have it. Delicious little spot in a convenient Federal Hill location...The staff are incredibly nice and provide great service! I absolutely love their cold brew coffee. The frozen yogurt is great as well! They have a variety of lots of fresh toppings. I do wish they would rotate fro yo flavors more and had more options. However, I know they are a smaller cafe. Maybe take a look at how many people is staffed per shift because there was only worker during that time. Sometimes after lunch you're just not ready to go home yet, and on one of those days I wandered up Charles Street, ducking in and out of shops and looking for something fun to do. Finally, I settled on coffee, and Afters looked like a good spot. I loved that it was independently owned and the proprietress was unbelievably cute while somehow remaining professional. Afters is a true sweets shop: glass cases with beautiful macarons and pastries (almost certainly not housemade, as there is little kitchen to speak of;) frozen yogurt with a bevy of toppings; bubble tea and smoothies; and a whole menu of coffee drinks, most of which are an excuse to eat sugar. (Come on. You know it's true!) I'm not a huge sweets person, and I am particularly baffled by the frozen yogurt craze, so it just plain wasn't up my alley. My orange-mocha latte was not bad, but nothing to write home about either; it was just fine. The interior is pleasantly lived-in, but clean: shelves of tchotchkes (for sale? I didn't ask) and magazines (for reading; I didn't need to) next to a business / marketing wall where customers can advertise. Afters is a very nice little cafe in Fed Hill. The staff is really friendly & helpful. I have not tried the bubble teas or frozen yogurt but the lattes are excellent. I have ordered a latte multiple times and it is always good. The flavors are diverse as well (peppermint, pumpkin, lavender, etc.). Would recommend! read more

I must be missing something, but I thought this place was terrible. Maybe I went on a bad day, but the yogurt was icy and gross. The toppings were all looking in nasty shape. Their AC seemed to be broken, during one of those blazing hot weeks this summer, and it was a million degrees inside. Wow, the fro yo was waaaay to sweet. I know that it's frozen yogurt and supposed and a dessert item, but this was noxiously sweet. In theory it's nice that they have different flavors and it's a self-serve set up, but the flavors were largely indistinguishable, probably because all I could taste was the sweetness... I got the mango, which had 0 mango flavoring, the chocolate, and the original. The chocolate had the slightest bit of chocolate flavoring, but it tasted very artificial. I know, I know, it's frozen yogurt, so not really the best in terms of flavoring, but it's been done before where frozen yogurt actually does taste like chocolate. The only reason they receive one star is because there is not a way to give zero stars. We order from Foodler all the time to get yogurt from them using our AMEX. Yelp states they accept credit cards. So my family and I went to yogurt and tried to pay with our AMEX and they don't accept AMEX. It was an honest mistake but the owner was aggressive and rude and acted like we were trying to get free yogurt. He was completely unprofessional. This place has been a great addition to Fed Hill. When I first moved to the area a couple years ago, I always wondered why there weren't any decent ice cream spots in the neighborhood given B'more's sweltering summers (I even schemed randomly about opening my own). Finally someone figured it out. It's clean and bright with a nice selection of rotating flavors and enough toppings to please even the pickiest eaters. All that for less than the cost of a mixed drink makes Afters a winner in my book - plus you can feel relatively healthy since you're eating froyo as opposed to fatty ice cream. My only complaint is the price of their other desserts, which were kinda steep last time I checked ($5+ for small cakes, etc.). I'm not too impressed with this place. I've been here a couple of times and felt quite disappointed. The froyo is not fully frozen; meaning, that by the time I put it in the cup, it is already melting-ish. I don't like the fact that by the time I pay for it, it is already a quarter of the way melted. This place could have gotten at least 3 stars from me if this wasn't a problem. The flavors they have aren't anything special either. I've also tried out their macarons and it's not that great, but what do you expect i guess? This isn't really some hot shot bakery. Afters is the only dessert venue opened later than normal establishments, so this may be a good choice if you have no where else to go. They still have a great cappuccino! The 12 oz has 2 shots of espresso and you can get it with soy or almond milk for 50 cents extra. Since I drank it there, I wish they had a ceramic cup big enough instead of the disposable cups so that it reduces waste. Whenever I am in the federal hill area and I am hunkering for some really good frozen yogurt. The only place that I hit is Afters. Not only can you choose from some really and I mean yummy flavors, but they offer an abundance of yummy toppings from oreo cookies to fresh fruit. Also if frozen yogurt does not float your boat, you can order coffee or some delicious desserts. The decor is very modern, right out of a CB2 magazine for all you crate and barrrel lovers. It is also a great chill spot to go after a nice dinner date or a cool place to take your kids. They also have a punch card as well so just to keep you coming back. We thought it was very rich and creamy. I'm a sucker for chocolate and peanut butter, and both of those flavors were spot on. This is a strawberry fruit tea with boba. This is real bubble tea - you can taste the actual tea flavor (I think it's oolong) and not just the fruit flavor. The boba is nice and soft and not hard. My boyfriend got the honeydew milk tea. It tastes like actual honeydew and it's good. I would highly recommend this place if you need a quick boba stop! read more

Last year after relocating to Philly and NYC for work and indulging myself at all the froyo franchises: Pinkberry, Red Mango, Sweet Ending, among others--when I came back to Baltimore, all I could think was, "Why doesn't Baltimore have any good froyo joints??" Move over, Mr. Yogato, I no longer have to leave my sheltered life in Federal Hill and venture far for some delicious creamy frozen yogurt! Afters Cafe, is a great addition to the neighborhood, and not only is the decor inside funky and fantastic but the frozen yogurt is AMAZING! When I visited the store with my fiance, there were four flavors available: original, raspberry, chocolate, and cookies & cream. Like gluttons, we taste tested all four--and each flavor was absolutely fabulous! I decided on the original and raspberry froyo topped with fresh chopped mangos and strawberries. My fiance decided on the chocolate and cookies and cream and I don't know what toppings he added since I was too busy devouring my own froyo---nom nom nom, so good! I'm already thinking of stopping by Afters on my way home from work, and considering one of my coworkers just completed the Veggie Soup Diet and dropped 8 lbs in a week--I'm thinking I should start my own diet trend that just involves endless bowls of frozen yogurt! read more

I needed something to satisfy my sweet tooth after dinner at Regi's so my friend and I walked over to Afters. It's right across the street from Shofer's on S. Charles st. Ambiance of the place is great. It reminds me much of a European cafe, with its stark white modern decor and red accent furniture. It's very inviting and they have comfy seating. They serve an array of pastries that look delicious. I had my eye on some macaroons but decided to go with some fro yo instead. I will be back for some macaroons though. They have a decent variety of flavors, their yogurt is more on the tart side though. I was excited to see a Nutella fro yo but it didn't really compare to the real thing. I settled on regular old tart with fruit toppings. The strawberries were surprisingly good considering they weren't in season. The service was excellent as well. Both the barista/cashier and a guy who I can only assume to be the owner were very friendly and welcoming. If you're considering either Afters or Forever Yogurt which is just down the street, they've both got their pros and cons. Forever has more flavors and more toppings. The flavor profiles of their fro yo is spot on as well. They've got some drinks too. However, their yogurt is just not frozen enough. It comes out really soft and melts quicker which is a huge drawback for me. The space is huge, definitely a big plus if you're in a big group. Afters has a smaller selection and the fro yo is a little more on the tart side imo. It's definitely more of a cafe and they brew Illy coffee which is delicious. As far as my experience goes the service was better at Afters too. I didn't get much more than a grunt from the cashier at Forever. I like em both, just depends on what I'm in the mood for. If you do end up at Afters, get their loyalty card so you can eat your way to a free fro-yo! read more

I will preface this by saying that I wish I could give this place 4.5 stars, but I sadly have to bump it down to 4. Transport was hard though, because the street parking was full up, and I'd like to pay a little less. The service, however, was quite good, and when I asked for sample cups the cashier held out the container for them and said I could take as many as I liked! The tart is smooth, creamy, and has the perfect balance of sweet and sour. I went on ahead to try their special orange, and was disappointed as well. I can't insult it too much, though, because I think other customers with different tastes may have enjoyed it more than I did. Same goes for the rocky road and vanilla. When I told the cashier I only wanted 5 cups because I wouldn't try the peanut butter, he told me that it was really good. So I gave it a shot. I have NEVER liked peanut butter in desserts. I don't even like Reese's that much. But this frozen yogurt was DIVINE. It was a perfect balance of sweetness, peanut butter flavor without overwhelming the concept of frozen yogurt, and had one of the the smoothest textures I've ever tasted. I immediately cranked down the lever and filled my cup with this addicting yogurt. On top of that, I discovered that an outrageous combination in my head would have me coming back for more. The strawberry yogurt was better than any ice cream version I've ever had. What little room was left in my cup was filled with it. I was extremely upset when I realized all my frozen yogurt was gone! With Baltimore lacking a GREAT frozen yogurt place (I am an avid Sweet Frog fan...) Afters can always satisfy the sweet craving. Afters has an OK selection of flavors (more than Cup Love in Canton, but again it's not the Sweet Frog selection) you can always make a yummy combination. They do have a reward card... but just recently they changed it where your yogurt has to cost at least $3 to count as a punch, so pile up on toppings! I will keep coming back to get my fro-yo fill because don't get me wrong, the yogurt is delish! Afters is a welcomed treat to Fed Hill/South Baltimore! Within walking distance of Cross Street Market/main bar and restaurant area. Prices are great on the yogurt & toppings, and coffee drinks are reasonable, as well. Staff is friendly, yogurt flavors change on a regular basis, and they are ALL good! I think the main highlight for Afters is that it has quickly become a gathering/hang out spot for locals - the couches, table and community information/books available make this local spot super inviting.
