This review is purely based on a bubble tea I had from this cafe. I had the milk tea with bubbles and one thing I noticed was that this bubble tea actually tastes like tea. I could be wrong but I'm so happy that this place does not use sugary powder and milk in place of tea. The bubble tea was not too sweet and the boba was chewy and not too soft or hard. Afters cafe has about 6 different flavors of froyo, bunch of toppings (chocolate kisses, candies, slivered almonds, oreos, sauces, and much more) They also have coffee, drinks, and a window full of desserts. Great seating outside, good couches inside, some seats lined against the wall. All in all a very chill place to come and relax. The froyo itself is pretty good. The vanilla was so creamy, great texture for a froyo. Toppings a plenty! Best of all, they have mochi! I had a lemon macaron, it had good texture but I felt that the filling was too thick and sticky, it was almost carmalized to a candy. I am pleased that i've found a chill froyo place. Could this quaint neighborhood get any cuter? Okay, this fro-yo place doesn't really match the rest of the old-school, red bricked scenery (We love neon colors!) but it's cute in its own way. CHOICES There's nothing too unique about the base yogurts except the glaring lack of a plain, plain, plain flavor. However, the texture and taste of all the other bases were excellent. Not icy or melty. Score happy points for having a small variety of bursting boba toppings! The fruits all looked freshly cut and not popped out of a can. Points and points. LAYOUT Just two couches facing each other if you want to hang out with friends--otherwise satisfy yourself at the smaller side tables (cool deco by having those tables glued to the wall without leg supports) There's no room to add more couches, but I do like having more hang out options. It is a comfy cafe with a great atmosphere where you can also enjoy froyo, all kind of pastries or macarons, drinking a hot nutella (their hot chocolate). Great place to go to grab dessert and coffee after dinner! They usually have about 8 different flavors of frozen yogurt that you can mix and match along with a smorgasbord of toppings. But if you're not looking for something cold, they also have a small pastry case of impressive looking desserts. It's a cafe as well so they have all the basic coffee/espresso and tea drinks to have with your dessert. Every time I've been there the staff has been really friendly and it's just a nice atmosphere to hang out and chill with some friends (or alone) as they have some comfortable couches and chairs. I ordered an Americano and 3 macarons (chocolate hazelnut, coffee and raspberry). The macarons were fine. They just weren't that light, airy texture that makes macarons so irresistible. They were a tad chewy, but overall, satisfied my sweet tooth. The espresso was delicious though! They exclusively use Illy, which is, in my opinion, the best brand a place can stock. Delicious!! I came here for a late night dessert when visiting some relatives and it was the perfect place to go. At first when I was told we were going to get frozen yogurt place, I wasn't super excited. But I was unaware of the "toppings feature", probably the best part. Once you pick your yogurt you get to actually chose your toppings and put as much as you want on there! Now that may get you in trouble at the end because the payment method is based on weight, but they have a good array of toppings to choose from. Cute little dessert shop in federal hill. The place made me feel like I am back in college again. 6 different froyo flavors (raspberry was creamy and delicious). Not as extensive as sweet frog but has good variety of topping options. Ordered the passion tea boba tea which I wasn't a fan of but I am sure other flavors would taste better. Didn't like the citrusy taste of the tea with tapioca pearls. If you don't like tapioca, they offer to add jelly poppers in the tea. read more

This Is one of the greatest hang out spots on Charles street. Great atmosphere and a good store set up for sure. The staff was very nice and flexible with the menu. He made one of the hot coffees a iced coffee when asked if he could. Then they even asked us if we wanted samples of the frozen yogurt while we waited. They have coffee, pastry's, and frozen yogurt ! This was an impromptu stop after a tabletop meet up in Fells Point. The place has is minimal in decor, but does what it does well. We had the self-serve yogurt and hot chocolate, both very, very good. The hot chocolate was really rich and could have been cut with some more milk - yes, Virginia, there is such a thing as too much chocolate. Great little stop, service was only OK, reasonable priced. Very pleasant frozen yogurt, coffee bar and pastry counter. The seating is very comfortable and inviting. Definitely encourages you to hang out a bit. Perfect store for a friendly, walkable neighborhood. They get huge points for atmosphere! The frozen yogurt is tasty. It's the tangy variety. And I like their unique flavors, especially taro. I was excited to try the bubble tea at this establishment but to my surprise the customer service was terrible, the manager here rushed us to order and pay, the tea was disgusting extremely too sweet so I asked him to remake and he did and it was pretty good, but he lacks respect nor take responsibility but a mishap with the system he uses to charge credit cards... I received my normal email stating my transaction history and noticed that I was double charged for what I purchased, I called and the manager called me back, I explain what happened and he proceeds to tell me that I paid for my friends purchase is the reason I was double charged when in fact me and my friend paid separately for our drinks, so instead of him fixing the issue he tried to argue with me and I told him I would be there the next day to see the footage to prove to him that we indeed paid separately and we hung up, he called me back to argue more and told me that he will have the police there when I arrive, I told him to stop calling me and I would be there. He refused to give me his name and said out of all the people he serves why am I the only one with a problem or noticed I was double charged??!!! Being a food critic on social media, a lot of these mom & pop shops needs to be cautious on how they treat people comes into their establishment. With the amount of followers I have on my social media this is definitely not a place I would recommend, he chooses to be courteous to whom he see fit instead of treating everyone the same..... Afters Cafe good luck with growth with a manager that treats customers as such. NO RECOMMENDATION FOR THIS ESTABLISHMENT. Since moving to the Baltimore area, I have been looking for bubble tea and places to just hang out for a quick stop in general. Afters Cafe does not disappoint! I tried the passion fruit bubble tea and also caved and tried their chocolate chip cookies. Both were great choices. I will definitely be going back to try the rest of their offerings! read more

We love coming here for desert after eating out. The environment is clean and quiet with plenty of places to sit and socialize. We go fairly often but it always seems like they have new flavors to choose from. I also like that you can get as little as you want since the prices are set by weight. Froyo served with a heaping scoop of attitude. My boyfriend works in the neighborhood, so when I told him I was going to go to Afters, he presented me with a punch card so that he could get a punch on his buy 10-get-one-free card. I filled my cup with a swirl of soy froyo and added a few berries from the sad-looking toppings bar. I paid $2.70 something and then I presented my punch card. The girl than rudely informed me (as if I should know?!) that I could only get a punch for three dollars or more. Ok, well I've never been here - the other punches are my boyfriend's - so sorry for not being able to read your mind? She told me that I would have to add more yogurt or toppings, and then re-weigh if I wanted a punch. By this time, the line is starting to form behind me and I am accompanied by a two-year-old who needs a nap, but OK FINE. While everyone waits on, I add a few large blackberries to my cup, and a get a re-weigh. "Still not there" she tells me when my cup is at $2.90something. GAHHHH. Well I'm supposed to get this punch so I just go back and add more yogurt which of course puts me way over three dollars and with more sugar than I wanted to consume that day. They win. "We've had this policy, since, like, November," the girl added helpfully. This girl had no problem holding up a line of families over a punch that I was less than ten cents away from. Talk about ridiculous. So basically, even if you're a loyal customer, who just wants a small amount of yogurt--even if you go TEN times, you are not eligible for that free yogurt. On top of the rudeness and ridiculous policy for the punchcard, it was about a BILLION degrees in there. Perhaps their air conditioning was broken? It was truly unbearable in there. For a variety of reasons, but namely the friendly service and punches for any sized cup of yogurt, you are better off at places like Yog in Mt Washington or Tutti Frutti in Mt. Vernon. Plus, they have better yogurt that doesn't melt before you even step out the door. read more

Friendly staff and good froyo. I went mid-day and they were already out of most of the pastries especially the macaroons that I had specifically came there to try out! I was a little disappointed by that but I still was able to get some froyo, so it's all good! We go here almost every night. I routinely bring in my 1-year-old daughter, who also lights up whenever we get close. The owner and the cashiers are all really nice and never mind when I give my little girl a few bites of "sample" yogurt. Hey, I always buy something for me and/or my wife. Afters is bottom line the best frozen yogurt/cafe shop in all of Baltimore. Their committment to customer service is amazing!! I had the worst day after work yesterday and to top it all off it was pouring rain. On a whim I decided to call Afters to see if they would deliver frozen yogurt to my house. They said of course! And didn't want to charge delivery either, they were just too nice! Their service totally made my day, and I couldn't have asked for a better pick me up. Thanks Afters!!
