I stopped by with a friend for an early lunch on a Tuesday and it was packed! We didn't have reservations but they seated us within 10 minutes. The menu is a mix of dishes that are Southwest inspired, French, Asian, and American brunch classics, as well as specialty beverages such as Vietnamese coffee. Their Hong Kong bubble waffle had been on my radar for a while so I was excited to try that. I also also breakfast a la carte; two eggs scrambled with a side of avocado and toast. My friend orders the Southwest skillet. We shared the bubble waffle and couldn't quite finish it, but it was tasty! The service was friendly but a little distracted. My friends and I decided to come here for brunch. We waited for our table and the hostess sat us in a corner booth. Once we were seated, we waited over 20 minutes and nobody came up to our table once. Not to mention, they never gave us any water which they normally do? As we sat there, we noticed that a few tables that came in after us were sat and a server greeted them almost immediately yet we still had not even been acknowledged? My last experience at teaspoon was underwhelming. Afterward, the owner proactively reached out to me to apologize and invite me back. She acknowledged the issue and promised to address the policies. I love teaspoon so much, I wanted to get back to visit before I left town, I was able to go back this morning and bring a friend. I had the morning bowl, my friend chose the breakfast pizza, we split the bubble waffle and both enjoyed hot Vietnamese coffees. The food is always amazing! The breakfast bowl was delicious and bubble waffle spectacular with the clotted cream and strawberry. My friend has been to teaspoon many times and said the breakfast pizza was his favorite dish so far. Tito, our server, was very upbeat and attentive. He took extra care to make sure our coffees were hot and not overly sweet, delivered our food promptly, and followed up with us without interrupting our conversation. Truthfully, he was way ahead of us with requests - he could totally have a side-hustle as a mind reader. I've been coming to Teaspoon for at least two years, and Tito's service of our table was a 10/10. In my video of the Vietnamese coffee you can hear that the restaurant has a nice calm atmosphere. I love coming here to work because it's so relaxing and despite being busy it's not overly loud. Our seating was comfortable, parking was abundant, restaurant clean, service first rate, and food absolutely delicious. Whatever happened on my last visit is forgotten. I truly believe whatever the issue was it's been taken care of because I the employees I observed working today were on point and all the diners we're clearly enjoying their meals I believe the owner was very proactive and addressed the difference of care issues and training of her staff just as she promised. Can't believe we haven't been here before today! So glad we decided to try it out. We came in from the west parking lot, accessing the restaurant through the courtyard. Inside and outside were lively with diners. Despite the large amount of people, we were seated and served quickly. I ordered the chicken burger, which was moist and delicious, and so large the chicken went beyond the boundaries of the brioche bun. The fries were crispy and hot. We came with no reservations and were told it would be 40 minutes. Seeing how popular it was, we were willing to wait. The menu was interesting. It had the feel of southern dishes but then you see Croque Madame, Hong Kong Bubble Waffle and Vietnamese Coffee and it makes me think that maybe the chef has travelled the world. First off just a note, the dishes were protein challenged. I had the Chilaquiles con Pollo and it truly lacked the pollo.. all of the pollo would have filled a tablespoon. I mean that literally.. Now! The flavors were great, our food and service were great. Atmosphere is vintage breakfast, lively buzz, busy staff, excellent. It was a great experience. It's time for an update! I've eaten at Teaspoon countless times over the years now and it really is one of my favorite places for breakfast, brunch, or lunch. The food is so good. Everything I've ever ordered has been delicious. On my most recent visit, I got the southwestern salad and it was wonderful. The chicken was perfectly grilled and the cilantro lime dressing was yummy--and they added just the right amount. I also ventured into their hot tea menu and had the Marrakech mint--so good. And perfect for the rainy day I was there. I love the atmosphere. Indoor, outdoor, or bar seating--it's all very cute and comfortable. The service is always solid as well. Someone ordered a dish without cheese and it came with cheese and then the replacement dish took multiple requests to finally make it on the table; the service was a bit inconsistent. The food itself was decent. The savory French toast was a great idea. It could have used more flavor to highlight the savory aspect of the dish. I ended up using hot sauce to complete the dish but wished the dishes would have had a more signature flavor from the start. Teaspoon is a nice breakfast spot in the Oro Valley area! They have both sweet and savory menu options. Loved both the Bubble Waffle and the Herb French Toast! For coffee I tried the Vietnamese Drip Coffee, which comes out in a cool aesthetic cup, however it was a bit too sweet for my taste. There is indoor seating, bar seating, or an outdoor patio area. Just to note it can get rather loud inside the restaurant when full and they do get pretty busy on the weekends. Always have really great food and good customer service when visiting. read more

I have come to Teaspoon twice for brunch. Both times, I thought the food was good. The avocado toast with poached eggs tasted fresh and the eggs were well cooked. I also tried the herb french toast which had a savory gravy. Both dishes were served on sourdough bread which was very mild. I was looking for more of a sourdough punch to the bread. The menu has various sweet and savory brunch options. There are many items on the menu that are gluten free or can have gluten substitutes. The coffee menu seemed pretty standard for a breakfast/brunch restaurant; my latte was average. Both times that I have been, the restaurant is crowded. The noise level was manageable and I was still able to enjoy great conversation. I don't quite remember the service the first time I went. However, my most recent experience left me disappointment. The kitchen got my friend's order wrong and had to remake it (not the end of the world). But then when it was brought out the second time, the dish was delivered to the wrong table, delaying my friend's order even longer. Overall, my experience was good.
