Teapioca feels like a very middle of the pack boba shop. The inside is nice but not as cool as some other shops around. The staff weren't too friendly but ordering was quick. We got a taro milk tea and mangonada. The taro milk tea was delicious and the right amount of sweet. The mangonada was sweet and had a bit of spice that didn't sit too well with the rest of the flavor. As someone new to the area, I'm unfamiliar with Teapioca Lounge but at first glance it seems like the classic chain you'd find in any other state due to the extensive menu and many branches. However, I was pleasantly surprised with my drink. Friendly service. There is free wifi and a plethora of outlets available. Seven seating tables with chairs, benches, stools, and sofas. Also restrooms are available. Crazy that they also sell drinks up to 44oz! They also set up two sample teas in the corner in case there's interest in trying something new which I think is great. Though at the end of the day it is $8 boba with tip. They have nutritional information online which is splendid. Not something you'll find at any average boba joint. I'm not sure what the BlasTea specialization here is exactly but there is a difference between Cream BlasTea (with milk) and a regular BlasTea. Seems just like a special name, though special names at many places often have some uniqueness (nitro infusion, ice blend, etc) but I didn't think the BlasTea was any different than a regular tea. Green BlasTea w/ Baby Boba - biggest downside was the availability of regular boba. I like baby boba but prefer comparing regular bobas to find a preferred spot. Baby boba was well sweetened with honey and very chewy. Tea was solid, the tea was evident, although it wasn't particularly strong. At 25% sugar, it did taste like 0% which is great, although at low sugar levels I'd expect the tea to be more prominent. read more

They have a pretty large menu with several types of drinks. They also sell a lot of macaroons. I ordered one of my typical drinks, the oolong cream blastea with boba. The drink is pretty light in color compared to a standard milk tea. Also, the boba were very fresh and tender. They have a decent amount of seating inside, as well as a couple of tables on the patio. I've been coming here for years and it's gotten better. They have premium teas that require time to brew - I don't mind the 5-10 minute wait! A new favorite is their wintermelon tea with all the toppings (not including popping pearls). I thought I would hate it or feel like the trend was overhyped, but I actually liked it! I was feeling adventurous that day, so I tried white tea for the first time. I wanted a sample, but was told that the teas are freshly brewed. A pity, but I still took the leap since I heard white tea is mild. I wasn't disappointed with my rose white tea at all. It was refreshing, and I've never encountered any other bubble tea options that offer white tea. Not bad for their teas. As a milk tea addict growing up in Asia and having the best milk tea in its motherland, Teapioca Lounge is a decent milk tea shop. It used to be one of the very few boba tea shops in Austin. I used to live 5 miles away from this place, so this was my go-to place for milk tea crave. They have a variety of flavored milk tea, flavored/fruity tea, and smoothies with basic toppings, like boba and jelly. I've tried most of their drinks, and I really like their durian smoothie. I know this is a very unique fruit and flavor that not everyone can handle, but it's my favorite. Teapioca uses fresh/frozen durian and makes a delicious drink out of it. You can also adjust the level of sweetness and ice for your drinks as well. Their basic black or green milk tea is a hit or miss. Sometimes it's good, sometimes it tastes like it is watered down a lot and tastes very bland - they just need to be consistent on their measurement for those. Loyalty program: Yes, they have it, just ask for it. Overall, Teapioca is not a bad boba tea shop, but it's absolutely not the best. It has a special place in my heart because my husband asked me to be his girlfriend when we were having a tea date at this Teapioca location 5 years ago. I'm just reviewing their drinks specifically here...Before it was the only decent one in Austin area, now it has very heavy competition from local family owned boba tea shops (owned by Taiwanese and Vietnamese owners) popping up around the city, and especially from Gong Cha and Sharetea which are the bigger chains and have the greatest boba tea in Austin. Today was my first time going to this Teapioca Lounge location in Pflugerville. I frequent the Parmer location more, but wanted to also go to this one, despite it being slightly further away from my house than Parmer. My favorite drink is the Oolong Cream BlasTea with coffee jelly (I don't know why but it works). Taste was on par and same as the other locations I visit. However, this is the ONLY location (I have gone to Parmer and the Arborteum one) where my selection of Cold No Ice doesn't fill the cup all the way and leaves the top lip of around 1 inch empty for the "ice" that I didn't want. Nowhere on the app does it say that I wouldn't have a full sized drink when I didn't want ice, especially as the other locations don't do this. Other franchise bubble tea stores (Gong Cha, Kung Fu Tea, Sharetea, Ding Tea, etc) fill the entire cup with the same criteria of Cold No Ice, so it must be specific to this location. Will likely not come back to this one if for the same price I can get a filled to the brim drink. The tapioca was soft and chewy, which was really good for me. I had the cafe sua da frappioca and it was really delicious. I've never had tapioca with a frozen coffee drink and it may be my new fave combo. My mom has the avocado smoothie, I had a taste of it and we didn't really like it. The avocados didn't taste fresh and really didn't have a taste in general. The menu was a little overwhelming for me. They have steps to help you make your drink but they also include pictures of some popular drinks. The sit-in area is closed, so don't expect to enjoy some drinks and leisurely hang. I'm going to be honest- I was a bit hesitant on ordering here because I heard mixed reviews on drinks and there weren't too many reviews on specific drinks either. I ended up ordering a oolong cream blastea with boba and I was BLOWN AWAY. IT'S AMAZING!!! There's a 5 minute time for the tea to steep, but it's worth the 5 minutes! The drink does not hold back on the earthy oolong flavor and it's combined with this nice slightly sweet creaminess! Honestly, it was one of the best oolong milk teas I ever had (I would say it compares to oolong milk teas in Taiwan). The boba isn't as sweet as I'd like it to be, but it's a nice chewy texture and they were quite generous with the topping. Drinks: 5/5 AMAZING oolong cream blastea! We also ordered the coconut chai black tea (I'm more of a milk tea person) and it's nice! A tad bit watery/bland as most plain teas go, but a definite chai flavor and slight coconut flavor in there! This place is my favorite bubble tea place in Austin, not only do they have wonderful tapioca drinks (fresh teas, smoothies, slushies) but they also have SNOW ICE. The snow ice has many flavors you can chose: taro, greentea, peanut, original, avocado... And then add three toppings! We didn't use to always come here especially since Tomunchi located across the street had better tea but recently since couple years ago Teapioca has changed and became cleaner, friendlier and tastier. Yes their tea still isn't the best quality. Ding tea opened next to them and houses a bit better tea but their almond milk tea or regular milk tea is passable and not bad for the price either. But the star I believe here are their fresh fruit smoothies. Not easy to find a place that doesn't use powder but actually put fresh fruit. Their boba is not bad either. Right consistency and chewiness. Their taro is ok too. But honeydew, mango and pineapple is what we usually get here. Their crazy drink is fun where they put almost every topping in. It's a tad too sweet for my liking. But fun. Their shaved ice is good. Not the best and haven't had it lately. But I am picky. Houston houses the best shaved ice. But I am glad to see they have some here but missing the authentic traditional stuff but still good. I don't usually come for the ice. My kids like their drinks and it's affordable. Ambiance - It's changed throughout the year, but the interior is still clean, comfortable, and with plenty of seats to accommodate a big group. Service - They try to get your order out to you as fast as they can, so I'm usually in and out w/in 5 minutes depending on how busy they are. Food - Their taro and thai teas are the best! Regular milk tea is usually a good indicator of a boba place, but unfortunately it's not too good here. Their other drinks and slushies are good though.
