I enjoy the coffee. It has a deep rich flavor that mixed with the moon juice (moon milk?) very well. I get the quarter moon latte and it's creamy, smokey and not too sweet at all. And I enjoy the hand pies as a filling snack/ light lunch. The staff is friendly and they happily answer questions and give recommendations when asked. You don't feel rushed. And they are down to earth. There's a closer location to me but I prefer this one because it's really conducive to getting work done with the loft upstairs. It has a buzzy energy full of people either working or chatting. I like the music playlist enough where often I don't wear my earbuds. I really like the energy and atmosphere combined with the excellent coffee. read more

My coworker wanted to go to a coffee shop, but I don't drink coffee. I got a chocolate chip banana muffin and it was so good. They warmed it up and it just melted in my mouth. I also got a strawberries and cream smoothie. It was so delicious. The service was amazing. The baristas were extremely kind. I enjoyed the coffee shop setting. The music was the perfect volume. I was able to work, talk and vibe. read more

Visited this place while in town for a family memorial. Such great coffee and a really tasty blueberry muffin. I found out later from my cousin I really should have gotten the moon milk but I didn't, she said that's the whole point :D If I come back to town I will give it a try next time. The staff was super friendly, the place was busy but not overly and the line wasn't long. The place was clean and not too loud. read more

Really good coffee place I've been here a few times. Do ask what the moons mean if you don't know cause the menu can be kind of confusing. Both half moon coffees were really good. The whole coffee shop has a lot of tables and an upstairs. Definite place to return to. read more

We got two half winter moons, it was pretty good, but I wasn't aware it was full dairy product, so it was fun to be mildly lactose intolerant (I should have asked but oh well lol) The service was nice and fast, we got our coffee quick and left. The place seems to be a good spot to work/study as well as there's plenty of seating, they even have a loft space. read more

I discovered the cutest coffee shop with the perfect name. The inside was even prettier, and at this time of year, it was decorated for Christmas. But I can tell that without the festive holiday decorations, this is really a lovely place. It's upstairs and downstairs, with the upstairs overlooking the first floor. I loved the couch upstairs and relaxed there for a few minutes with my cup of delicious, smooth coffee. I love a good cup of coffee. Now the upstairs has plenty of tables and chairs. But I saw that big, fluffy couch and sat there. The funny thing was that a guy was at the other end and had dozed off with his fingers still on the computer keys. Now that's how comfortable the couch is. I went downstairs and sat at a table, taking in the relaxing vibes and people whispering. There are long and short tables, as well as long bistro tables with high chairs downstairs. I think this day people weren't really working, it was more relaxing with friends and enjoying a good cup of coffee. They also have cold drinks, sandwiches, and pastries. So this place will be perfect on a summer day. I also love that they had a personal water area for cups of water. Now that stole my heart. I don't see that at coffee shops, but it's so needed. Of course, as you can tell, this will be my go-to coffee shop. I really like the vibe and the coffee. I might go back today and try a sandwich and a pastry, so stay tuned! read more

Fell through by accident but it's a cool young vibe inside. I like the decor but the coffee wasn't fresh at the time and the barista said they probably wouldn't make a fresh batch anytime soon. Everyone in there seemed to love it so I trust I came at a bad time. Still worth a repeat try when I'm back in town. #DrKindness read more

This is great place to work from. It is surprising that there is actually 2 stories, since from the outside you can't tell that there's a separate 2nd floor to work from, with mostly tables and some couches. The main floor also has plenty of space and tables to work from, but caution, it's mostly wooden furniture and benches, so it might be hard on your rear and back. There are plenty of outlets, both on the first floor as well as the 2nd floor. The coffee & drinks are great, as with most of the Summer Moon Coffee I've been to. It's pretty consistent. I love the moon milk in my drinks. Haven't really tried their pastries, but have had their breakfast tacos that they get from Tacodeli. It's just ok. All in all, I would go there to knock out some work and enjoy some good wood fired coffee drinks. read more

Billy and Fernando are 5-star baristas who get customer service. Energy, professionalism, consistency -- every time. They even teach others and lead by example. Not having them at the window lately? That's a mistake. First impressions matter. Billy and Fernando = 5 stars. Leadership understanding the right people in the right roles? Right now, that's a 1. Shoutout to Assistant Manager Aliya -- she's fabulous -- and to the tall barista who is also outstanding. This location has real talent. Recognize it. Keep them. read more

3.75 stars: good coffee, friendly service, and generous seating, but got my order incorrect. I also hate the pos system asking me to tip.

This is one of the most reliable Summer Moons that I've ever been at. There's no pressure to tip, the drive thru is great, and the inside has a second story! I couldn't ask for more. I usually get the whisper moon but I got a blue whisper moon which has lavender syrup in it and it was absolutely devine. The staff is super friendly and will help you navigate the menu really easily. The place is cozy and I would definitely study here. Hint: ask for some items on the secret menu! read more

Poor quality product, the matcha was grainy and brown. The staff was very understanding and made a new drink but sadly that was also not very good- I think everything is over sweetened and has no balance in flavor. read more

First time I've ever been here, Came in around noon on a Friday and the place was packed. Plenty of seating, including tables upstairs; which seemed to be full of the younger crowd hanging out. Plenty of parking, it shares a lot with a Chick-fil-A and a dentist office. Free WiFi, which was dropping connection often when I was there. Drink prices are a little cheaper than Starbucks. The matcha full moon was pretty good, though I've had better. read more

Staff is rude. I place my order and wait at the area marked pickup. The guy making drinks gives me a dirty look and asks me what I want. I am waiting for my drink. I give him my name. This was my first time trying Summer Moon Coffee! Went here around 11am on a Saturday and that place was almost completely packed upstairs & downstairs! Lots of people were working on their laptops. I was really impressed by the interior design of the place and love the use of vertical space We both wanted to try their match latte but they were out of matcha.... :( I ordered a green tea w/turmeric and my bf ordered the half moon latte w/oat milk. The turmeric green tea was okay, wasn't very sweet (which I loved!) but I could barely taste the turmeric. Cashier said it spicy and it was not-it was pretty watered down turmeric tbh. 4 stars because they ran out of matcha. read more

Costumer service is great, the overall atmosphere is very well put together and feels like the right place to seat and enjoy a cup of coffee But the sandwiches look exactly to the equivalent to what you can find at the gas station, pre made packaged sandwiches, thats the only thing i think its a bit off compared to the rest of what this restaurant has done to make it look great and attractive so. Good coffee and generally friendly workers but man it takes forever to get a drink inside so probably don't bother going in. This is my second time trying to get a coffee after the gym and it's taken like 20 minutes for my coffee. This past visit was for a drip coffee. Again, I waited 20 minutes for a drip coffee. Yikes. There are two stories, a studious vibe atmosphere but also chill so you can hang here with group up to 6 people. Lots of coffee, tea and smoothie options. They also have pastry options. Something has changed in the past year. Bought/sold? Franchised? ...it's not good. The coffee is blah at best-sometimes bitter or tastes like the smell of my cat's blanket. 1/4 moon is mostly like warm milk. 1/2 moon is like really sweet warm milk. The previous local, Taco Deli taco's have been replaced with ultimate sell-out; Green Cart tacos -and they are really EXPENSIVE for what they are. The other foods are like what you'd expected to find at QT gas stations - not local specialties. But the service... the service is fantastic. Every single employee is genuine and attentive and friendly (excellent, except for 1 crabby, lackluster girl, but I won't discount just because of her). Overall, the Tech Ride location has sadly become just another sub-par coffee chain-no longer an above-average, specialty local coffee spot :( read more

Tons of indoor space and have drive through if you just need your quick coffee fix. I ordered the quarter moon latter and cinnamon bun. The coffee is quite good! The naming is confusing and I have to ask the barista what's the difference between the different choices. Sugar level! Well, I wish they could have written those on the board to make the decision process easier. Maybe I'm being picky, but the cinnamon bun is just OK. It's huge and fluffy but could definitely use a lot more cinnamon. It's a bit blend aside from the sweetness. Free wifi and good for getting some work done. Also, they sell bagged coffee bean, tons of choices. read more

We come to this location a lot. The coffee, while pricy, is really good. We usually get the half or quarter moon. It tastes good and is sweet and creamy. We always pick up some taco deli migas too while we are here. The inside is huge! Two stories, aestheticly pleasing with lots of seating. If I were a student, I would probably come here to study even though the location is kinda odd and not accessible without car. Summer Moon Coffee - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Austin, Texas

Summer Moon Coffee isn't just any other coffee shop - they distinguish themselves with their moon milk which is a sweet, spiced milk which is pretty good. I personally tried the summer moon latte 16oz and that was more than enough for a breakfast - looking at the calorie count, there's definitely a lot of fat and sugar and my body did not really react well to it. That, and their haphazard making of the latte without any effort of the latte art and not filling up the cup all the way (at least my friend's cup) felt like the service was a bit rushed and I didn't get the full value. Nonetheless, I really enjoyed the drink in terms of taste. If I were to go back, I'd definitely get the 1/4 or 1/2 since pure moon milk with espresso which constitutes a summer moon latte was a bit too heavy for me. Or maybe just get the 12oz instead. read more

In the last few months this place has gone absolutely downhill. I come here around 7 for a little bit to finish up my work since it's close to my home. Whoever the white man( usually wears tight pants and a different shirt from other staff) working nights is needs to be looked into! The way he looks at the young girl( I say young because the young lady wears braces) that is usually working along side him is concerning! I'm not sure if the employees are aware but customers can hear what you say! I have heard personally disturbing things this man has said around his colleague it's absolutely disturbing and concerning! Summer Moon Coffee is unique in their own right as they make their own creamer. They have varying degrees of sweetness depending on what you order. Got the half moon something with lavender syrup which the girl said shouldn't be too sweet but it tasted like pure creamer. They were nice and "fixed" it for free though so that's nice. By fix I mean dumped some out and added a shot of espresso. To call this stuff coffee is an insult. It's 90% sweeteners and 10% coffee. The food here is decent not bad. Wouldn't come back though I don't enjoy drinking creamer. read more

Way better than Starbucks. We try to go here almost daily when we visit Austin. The whisper moon (Shots of our smooth Velvet Blaze Espresso topped with a 1/8 of our rich Moon Milk and the rest nonfat (skim) milk; for those who love just a whisper of sweetness) is the best and we always order that!! A must try if you haven't! read more

Half Wintermoon Latte? Sign me up! It's a tad bit less sweet then a full wintermoon and it is just perfect! It's really hard to find and iced coffee/latte that isn't super milky or super acidic. This is just the perfect amount of sweet and creamy while still getting that coffee in the mix. It's also great because there isn't much barista error- it seems like each time it's made it's pretty exact. I can't tell you how often I go to other spots and some baristas have heavier/softer hands and the beverages come out different each time. It's a bit pricier than some other coffee joints but if you're already splurging on a beverage, make it Summer Moon. read more

I'm a big fan of summer moon but some locations are better than others. This one is probably my favorite one. First, there's a decent amount of seating and it's never been crazy packed any time I've been in. The downstairs area is a little more active while upstairs is quieter and cozier. I have mixed feelings about the breakfast tacos offered. I appreciated that they all were vegetarian options. I never have so many options! I'm usually relegated to a potato, egg, and cheese or Migas - both solid taco options but it's fun to have more options. I'm just so over all cafes in Austin serving Tacodeli tacos bevause they're just not good. Specifically, I find they're usually in flour tortillas that start to get gooey and stick to the packaging from sitting around. Just switch to corn! Nonetheless, I enjoy the place and the coffee offerings so it's a go-to spot for me. Parking is super easy. PARENTS: If you have a stroller or something large, keep in mind that your seating options may be cut in half if you can't go up the stairs. The downstairs is loud enough that I feel like its a good spot to have kids. I don't think I'd bring my little on upstairs as her voice would carry into other people's quiet convos. read more
