Supporting local establishments can be tough when it's hard to get to them! That was my experience with Human Bean. It is a tiny drive-thru coffee stand essentially, and if you are not paying the highest degree of attention, you will certainly miss your turn and having to loop around the nearby high school just to try to make your way. When I did manage to get through the drive-thru, I ordered one of their signature lattes, but since I can't even recall the flavor, that alone is telling that the coffee was not memorable. The only reason why I am taking the time to write a review is to mention their signature chocolate-covered coffee bean with each order. When I received my latte, it came with a white-chocolate covered coffee bean on top. I thought that was adorable! read more

Not heavily sweetened or anything, just a refreshing wake up call. It's a no frills frozen coffee that serves as a good foundation for everything else. Sweeteners and flavors can be added but instead of going through that hassle, their premade frozen treats seem solid. White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Cookie - I did not expect to be buying Seattle's Favorite (brand) here but The Human Bean is from the PNW. Tasty and very sweet, pretty standard for white chocolate cookies. Banana Nut Muffin Top - a 520 calorie cookie looking muffin. In particular, the banana nut is like banana bread, go figure. It's really no different than a whole muffin but it's easier to eat especially on the go because of the compact, flattened cookie shape. Lots of banana to get excited about, the taste is super strong. It's also accompanied by almonds and walnuts. I'm also positive this is Seattle's Favorite (brand) because they also sell muffin tops and have the same nutrition. If that's the case, not sure why they chose to rebrand the muffin top but not the cookie. read more

This place has definitely go DOWNHILL significantly. I try really hard to not leave bad reviews but this morning I drove all the way across town and decided to use a free drink here and all I can say was I wasted a free drink. I got the 32 oz Lucky Charm Granita and I added a couple shots. I know adding shots waters it down some, but this drink was like drinking lukewarm water with slight coffee flavor. I guess I should have turned around and tried to see if they could fix it but I mistakenly assumed it would get better the more I drank it. I may have to stick with either Dutch Bros or 7Brew in Round Rock. I really loved coming here but I hate wasting money and free drinks on mediocre product. read more

I was sent a free drink coupon card in the mail from them so I of course went over to get my free drink. I had to download the app and then scan the QR code on the coupon card they sent me for it to work to begin with. Why not just have the coupon directly on the card to start? I head over and then order my drinks that are already completely overpriced. I bring my phone over for the barista to scan my QR code to get my free drink and then she tells me that they have no internet. The baristas also seem to know nothing about this free drink. I was absolutely dumbfounded since, if your internet is down, how are you still able to take my digital payment????? I drove all the way over here just for my coupon to not even work... I drink coffee- black coffee, so my review is based on that- black coffee. I am not a fan of most chain coffee places either. I pulled in line (this was a drive-thru only) and was sitting about 4 cars deep. The line moved pretty quickly and when I got to the window and ordered a black coffee, preferably the strongest/boldest one they have, I was told they had to make some and it would be a couple of minutes. I saw people in line behind me and was thinking they are not going to be happy with me just sitting here for awhile. I was pleasantly surprised that I was handed my cup in less than a minute, certainly quicker than I thought it was going to be. The staff was very polite and friendly, and they were very busy. I was disappointed in the flavor. It was too weak for my tastes and if that is the boldest they have I won't be back. I want that coffee to punch me in the mouth and have my throat and stomach yell at me! I did not have that experience. Oh well, I did try it. I have read really great reviews of all the flavored drinks but that is not what I do. It is quick, they are friendly and convenient though. read more

I was a regular but after the last three visits you deserve a review. Employees are not as friendly as when you first opened. Your drinks are overpriced, often my orders are disappointing, your employees aren't skilled properly to make them and they expect a double tip for rude service. Not only do they still have their little tip jars by the windows, you now have the pay system set up for them to get a second tip. Maybe pay your employees a better wage so they won't have to beg for a double tip. Congrats, you now have one less car going through your drive thru and less money in your pockets. read more

Human Bean? Not very humane. For a time, we drove all the way from Round Rock for their coffee because it was high quality, friendly service, and an overall good vibe. After a while, their coffee quality started to decline (lack of flavor, watery, wrong orders, etc). This got frustrating due to the long drive and amount of times we had to do this. We had to call back several times and ask to remake the drinks due to their watered-down, flavorless consistency as we had just paid money and used the gas to get there (gas is not cheap in Austin). In the process of their steady decline, the manager's husband called my car UGLY while he was taking my order (I'm not joking!!). We let the manager know, and he called me back to apologize. Finally, we call back yet again to have them remake our order. The manager was extremely rude, gaslit us, pointed out that it was our problem in a snide manner, and HUNG UP ON US. There are much better coffee shops with more consistency, better service, and employees who don't insult you or hang up on you. read more
