4.5 My family and I went to Feng Cha Austin when in the area. It's a nice place to get a coffee or boba tea. We parked , walked in and noticed an ordering station but there were only two people in front of us so we went to the counter to order. The woman that took our order was friendly and patient. We paid and then waited. This coffee/tea shop is minimally decorated. It's nice and clean with a few places to sit. I'm not sure if it's usually hot in there but during our visit the shop was abnormally hot inside. They did have a large fan running so I assumed that the air conditioner was not working but I don't know for sure. After waiting around a man working behind the counter asked if we needed anything. We told him that we ordered and paid. He checked and found our receipt. He then told us that he would start our order and get it to us as soon as he could. It didn't take long. I ordered the Black Tea with Ice and 50% sugar. It was really good. I could definitely taste the sweetness from the sugar and the black tea. I think in the future I will get a less sugar. I couldn't finish my drink but my husband and boys drank theirs up. We all agreed that it was good. Overall Feng Cha Austin is a nice place to visit with a variety of coffees and boba teas. The flavor of the tea is good and you get a fairly big cup. The workers were friendly and the service was good. My only complaint is that the space was hot. Hopefully that issue gets fixed.
I was driving by and stopped to get a drink, I got the mango fantasy drink with grapefruit and sago and 75% sweetness. It was pretty good, it had soft and frozen sago, I loved the texture difference. I ordered on a kiosk, and my drink was made pretty quickly. It was a quiet place.
Worst taro I have ever had due to rotten milk Typically I get Thai tea here and it is great but tried the taro and it was the worst taro I have ever had. It tastes like rotten milk and lavender Update: I did go back and they made me a new drink. It tasted normal but due to drinking the rotten milk, my stomach was upset and I couldn't even drink the new one. Customer service was apologetic. But due to getting sick, I don't think I will go back to this location.
Feng Cha is a wonderful boba chain serving a variety of items all done well. I've had Feng Cha in Dallas and appreciated the drink while thinking the boba was just okay. Washington just opened the first Feng Cha as well. Overall, I think Feng Cha excels at the drinks themselves and their boba is chewy, but not sweet or flavorful. Sugar and ice levels are adjustable as expected. Classic Green Milk Tea w/ Boba - a classic creamer heavy milk tea, but the green tea was still very present. It was light but the floral flavor surrounded the primary, creamy taste. Super refreshing, especially with the heat. Boba was mid because the flavor was lacking, but the texture is pretty standard.
Drank the boba faster than I could snap a picture of it! Milk tea will always be a classic drink and Feng Cha knows how to make it right. Shop is relatively small so I wouldn't necessarily plan to stay there too long. Great option for boba in the city!
This place was not great. We did not enjoy the experience, for the food. This is not the fault of the sole person working there on a busy Sunday afternoon. He was doing his best under the circumstances, but I don't think that even full staffing would have made it a worthy experience. Sometimes strip mall places can surprise you with the ambiance, but not this place. Imagine a strip mall boba joint, take away some of the charm, and you've got Feng Cha. We ordered at the kiosk when we went in. It was a pretty easy and straightforward process. The menu is laid out well and it's easy to navigate. We placed our order and that's when we realized that all the seating was barstool height. There were a few two-person booths near the back, which were all occupied. I helped my companion onto a barstool and waited. There were about 8 people standing in the lobby waiting when suddenly a customer stood up on a chair to inform everyone that there is only one employee to fulfill all our orders. Some folks left. Our food was ready a few minutes later. My iced tea had no ice and was still warm. The cakes had no flavor and my companion did not even finish theirs. The taro drink was good though.
I got: Dirty Boba It is a bit sweet (100% or 75% sugar) getting 50% sugar might be the move. Pretty standard for boba places. Boba texture is good. Overall, enjoyable!
This place is ok. You order via kiosk right in front of the desk, but there's only one. So I don't know how this works if it gets really busy. Still, it's a straight forward process though I was having a weird issue with the tap to pay and had to physically pull out my card. Anyways, the reason for the mid-rating was the drink I got. Usually when I go to a boba shop, even if I pick something random, I've generally always enjoy the drink. I can't say the same for this place. I got the Citrus Lord because I love citrus drinks and Texas is 100+ degrees but that drink was AWFUL. You know that feeling you get when you drink OJ after brushing your teeth. That's what it tasted like.
I'm assuming they just opened cuz there were boxes and it looked a little unfinished inside *Customer service- was ok they ask tht u use the kiosk which is ok but the screen next to the counter and the kiosk on the side look somewhat similar So there isn't a whole Bunch of people interaction * prices I thought were descent *pretty fresh boba *lots of flavors to pick from *location kind of hard to find u need to keep an eye out * lots of seating standing n seating
Feng Cha is consistently good with their drinks, the menu has a wide variety of teas, fruit flavors, and toppings, and you can customize your sugar and ice levels as expected (for most drinks). The best drinks I've tried are the mango au lait and the milk teas or tea with salty cheese foam. The cups the drinks come in are sturdier than other boba shops, so it's a nice bonus. The boba is simple - soft and chewy, but nothing special. Service is usually quick, but they are often busy. It's a nice spot to drop in and hang with friends or just to grab a drink and go! Overall, Feng Cha is one of my regular boba shops I visit in my rotation when I'm feeling in the mood for their particular drinks. They're not my favorite, but I like them enough for a revisit here and there.
Classic boba spot that won't disappoint after eating a heavy, savory meal. A lot of boba places in Austin close early, but Feng Cha is one of the few that you can count on to be open. Their prices are decent too -- at least relative to other expensive cities... I've only tried their fruit teas, but they are solid. Very refreshing and a good size. I will probably be coming here on a consistent basis. One day I'll try their milk tea options!
I haven't written a review in a while, but this place was more then deserving. I ordered 3 drinks, iced matcha, iced coffee (something), and iced milk tea. They were all AMAZING, but the matcha & coffee were my favorites out of the 3. I just quickly picked up my order but the inside of the store was clean and had quite a few tables for hanging out. The only con- the drink trays they give you are flimsy as heck and have no support. Luckily the drinks lids are on so tight there is no way you can spill it!!!! 5/5 will totally be back here.
I got the green milk tea. Good tea mix w milk. Cashless you can just order from the machine. Service was fast. Many indoor seating available. Ambiance is good for friends grab a milk tea or work here too. Will be back to try other flavors in the future. read more
I like Feng Cha because it's so easy to customize your drink. You order from kiosks, which I actually really appreciate because you can take your time, adjust the sweetness, switch to non-dairy milk, all without feeling rushed. Service has always been quick when I've gone. The drinks themselves are good. I usually get the taro blended drink, and it's consistently well made. This time I tried an Ube drink on special and it was pretty good too. So no complaints on the actual bubble tea front. The interior is where it loses a little charm. It's not exactly a cozy place to hang out. The lighting is bright and a bit harsh, and the overall vibe is more cold and industrial than cute or inviting. Totally fine for grabbing a drink, just not somewhere I'd linger. Feng Cha does bubble tea well, but it doesn't really stand out from other spots. read more
I like Feng Cha. I usually get the Creme Brulee brown sugar milk tea or the taro milk tea or any of their fruit teas, but today I got the Mango Fantasy. It's a mango smoothie with mini sago, grapefruit chunks, and coconut cream. The drink was good and refreshing overall, but I don't really like the grapefruit chunks. I can't really taste the coconut cream either. Next time I would probably go for the mango breeze instead because that one is creamier and less bitter. read more

This is my favorite drink to get at feng cha but i think this location really depends on the worker or whoevers making the drink because todays drink just tasted like bitter diluted water.. the boba balls literally had no sugar and tasted like rubber. Im not sure whats going on because the last few times i went here at night it was good but had different workers making the drink. read more

Reasonably priced milk tea at a small cafe with simple modern decor. Perhaps a little bit smaller serving than I normally get for the price at my usual places where I live in Fort Worth, but still good quality. Their cups are very aesthetically pleasing, something about the exterior texture of it is unique and cool. Service was friendly and quick. read more

Feng Cha has always been one of my go-to boba places in Austin whenever I'm in the mood for fruit teas. I am a big fan of their Kiwi Basil Green Tea and Strawberry Overload. The basil seeds in the Kiwi Basil Green Tea add a nice texture to the drink and make for a good alternative to adding boba. I like how I can also taste actual kiwi and strawberry bits in the drinks. The reason why I am giving 4 stars though is due to their inconsistency. The past 2-3 times I have gone, the sugar levels have been inconsistent. While I ask for 50%, the tea is noticeably more bitter than when I ordered from Feng Cha in the past. Hopefully this inconsistency can be resolved as I do enjoy their teas. read more

Came by today to get some jasmine apple tea and when I got my order there was no apple slaw in my drink so I asked the person at the front and she said they were out. UGH but Then a worker behind her told me he would cut some apples in the back just for me. Thank you so much! read more
I think I've found my new Thai tea spot. Bless! Their tea is bold and flavorful. I ordered at 50% sweet and regretted it immediately as I feel like it did a disservice to all of the spices and flavors. (I added simple syrup when I got home which corrected my mistake!). It's a lot of tea for what you pay for! I'll be sipping on it all afternoon. The service was quick and friendly. The ambiance was calm, warm, and inviting. I can definitely see myself catching up with a friend here. read more
Feng cha is a solid boba spot and I've been pleased with my drinks on several occasions. It's not necessarily my favorite and the selection is more limited but their boba is chewy and well cooked and I feel like their adjustments in sweetness are accurate. I brought my computer to work here once and it was a nice space to work. read more

Gee willakers! They have Japanese pancakes aka soufflé pancakes aka heaven on earth! I went to LA and had these Japanese pancakes and searched for it through every crick and crack here in Texas and finally stumbled upon it here in Austin. Here they are called foam cakes but my tastebuds call it the same thing, amazing. Soft fluffy sponge cake in stacks. You can order 4 different types. They also sell fruit drinks here. I got a grapefruit one with basil seeds. So refreshing! Can't wait to come back. read more
I love to stop by this cute boba shop after eating around in this plaza! They have kiosks where you can order your drinks and they're usually very fast! I always get the strawberry overload with grass jelly and it hits the spot! Super refreshing and the right amount of sweetness. read more
After trying the boba here I knew I'd be back for more. Not only is it close to my apartment, but it's also just better, in my opinion, than some of the other boba nearby. They have a variety of drinks (milk tea, tea, slush, etc), sweetness and ice options, and flavors. The tapioca is also prepared well. I went during covid so can't comment on the experience, but it looked very cute! I got the dirty boba 50% sweet with less ice. Next time I may get 25%, it was still a little sweet for me. My bf got the overflowing grapefruit which he really enjoyed. I will definitely be back to try more. read more

I got the black milk tea with 75% sugar and less ice. I thought the tea was slightly bitter. The tapioca pearls were soft and chewy, but mostly flavorless. I prefer boba that's slightly sweet. The worst part was that halfway through I started feeling nauseous and sick to my stomach from the boba. But nausea aside, their black milk tea is very unimpressive. read more

Really good ambience for a study environment. I came on a week day and it was not that busy. There are usually plenty of parking even if the place is busy because it's in a big plaza and right next to Walmart. I got the ginger milk tea and it was good. The ginger they use is most likely the ginger syrup you get at the Asian grocery store. It's good but probably not good enough for me to get it again. I was not feeling good so I wanted something gingery. I did like that it was not that sweet. Maybe I can be better if it was warmer. I am so glad they kept their basil fried chicken from Tea Haus. It was the perfect snack when I was doing some work a few hours in. The chicken was crispy and flavorful. Their boba cakes looks really good and probably will try their salted foam cap drinks next. I kind of wish they had some espresso drinks for when I'm doing work since these milk tea doesn't give me the caffeine I need. Nonetheless, Feng Cha is known for their teas so that's fine too. read more
