I got the Jasmine milk tea with no sugar and no ice. It's on the less tea side and milk flavor is stronger than tea. Overall it's okay. Service was fast and nice. Ambiance you have indoor seating you can sit and chill a bit.

Good boba variety, quick service, and a cute seating area inside. I got my drink with light ice and 70% sweetness. It definitely hit the spot!

Decent boba. I got taro milk Tea with sago, regular sugar level, and it's super sweet, a little bit too much for me. Pomelo mango sago smoothie is great and has the perfect sweetness amount when I order with zero added sugar (yes it's still sweet with zero added sugar) Service is alright. I'll be back again if I'm in the area

Looking at pictures online, I was a little wary of Doka, just because everything looked so brightly colored. But hearing all the hype and seeing all the good reviews, I came to try it anyways. And I'm so glad I did! First of all, love that they have a little parking garage area. One of the biggest factors for me deciding to go somewhere is whether I'll be able to find easy parking. And second of all, the drinks really are so delicious! The flavorings don't have that really artificial taste, making them really refreshing, especially in the summer heat. And we tried the sago, which were smaller than we expected, but so bouncy and slightly sweet, and it just made it all the more fun to drink. Plus, they have a little guest book that you can sign, and I just think that's so cute.

As a Taiwanese kid, I cannot express how excited I was when I saw Doka coming to Austin. Every time I walked by, I found myself peeking inside to see if there were any updates on the construction. The moment I saw the logo, I knew this was the brand I grew up with. Doka is how the store name is pronounced in Mandarin. In Taiwan, this store has the English name Coco. Since the name Coco is already taken by another tea shop here, I understand why they went with Doka, even if the name surprised me at first. I checked their Instagram, and seeing the use of traditional Mandarin characters and the menu items I remembered from childhood confirmed it for me. This was exactly the store from my childhood. I came during the soft opening week. The staff told me that the menu is currently limited to ten drinks, so it is not yet the usual mix-and-match format where you choose your tea base and toppings. Even so, this drink menu was enough to bring back strong memories. I ordered the Tropical Special, which has always been my favorite, and I also tried the Popping Blue Moon. The Tropical Special tasted exactly like how I remembered it. It is a passion fruit green tea with coconut jelly and pearls. I have always loved the combination. The coconut jelly was sweet and smooth, and the pearls were cooked to the perfect chewy texture. Huge shoutout--I grew up calling them pearls back home. The Popping Blue Moon is a beautiful drink. It has a mango and lemonade base with lychee poppers and jelly. The flavor was refreshing and well balanced, and I enjoyed it a lot. However, because the name does not give away what is inside, a brief description on the menu or Instagram would be helpful. While I was there, I heard several customers ask about the drink. One of the staff members had to double-check with others to explain it. Some written clarification would make that process smoother for everyone. Doka makes my heart sing. This is the most authentic Taiwanese bubble tea I have had in the United States. Everything about the store feels like home. The logo, the color scheme, the menu design, and the traditional characters all feel true to the brand I knew growing up. I even thought I recognized a familiar Taiwanese accent when I spoke with one of the staff members. If I have one small note, it would be about the sweetness. I ordered both drinks with regular ice and zero added sugar, which is how I usually order my bubble tea. Even so, they still came out a bit sweet for my current taste, likely because the toppings were sweet and I had two in each drink. To be clear, this is exactly how I remember the drinks from when I was younger. My preferences have just changed now that I am older. When I got home, I added more ice and poured the drinks into a larger jar, and that made the sweetness just right. In the future, I hope they will also offer the full customization menu where customers can pick a tea base and choose toppings. That would make the experience absolutely perfect.

Everything was fresh, flavorful, and reasonably priced, making it a great value for the experience. The vibe here is peaceful and inviting. Although it can get quite hot during the Texas summer, they also operate in the evening, which makes it an ideal place to unwind after sunset. We really enjoyed everything we ordered and look forward to coming back, perhaps after spending some time on the water. In addition, I do not have a Haraz Coffee House near me, so when I am near one of their locations, I make it a point to pop in. I love Haraz. I love the ambience. I love the coffee. I love the pastry selection. I love the service. The consistency I've experienced from location to location is top-notch. The cleanliness here is impeccable, too. That bears mentioning. My go-to is the Haraz Latte. Iced. While this could never be my every day coffee, it is something I really enjoy and treat myself to when I'm able to go to a Haraz. As someone who doesn't proclaim to like cheesecake, their Biscoff cheesecake is the exception. Maybe it's a blessing that one isn't close by and I can only indulge every now and then. If you want a break from your regular coffee, give Haraz a shot. Especially when the summer heat kicks in - the iced coffee + cardamom is pretty great. Also, they seem to have a high standard for hiring. The staff is always great. Please tip generously ;)

I will say their options tend to lean on the sweeter side, so I always ask for less sweet if possible. Staff is always friendly and this location is clean with lots of seating!

While exploring the many museums across the University of Texas campus, a quick caffeine break was needed for my girlfriend and we were overwhelmed by the number of options on The Drag. It makes sense that there are plenty of places to choose from because of the large number of UT students. Everyone needs a little coffee in their lives. One of the highest reviewed ones with a large pool of ratings was Lucky Lab Coffee and after checking a few quick reviews, we decided to give it a chance. Lucky Lab has five locations in Austin (four on campus) and one location in Dripping Springs. The one we were at off The Drag was their flagship. This location serves a little bit of everything from sandwiches to pastries, salad to quiche, and of course, coffee. As we walked inside the flagship, it is easy to notice how tight the space is. There is very little seating inside at their bar, but they make up for it with plenty of shaded outdoor space that is perfect for a nice day. Scanning their menu, we landed on some drinks from their winter menu. I was intrigued by their Pomegranate Rosemary Latte while my girlfriend tried their Ginger Spice Mocha. We got them both iced. First, it is interesting to see the fusion of pomegranate and rosemary in a latte. I was intrigued by those flavors. Their drink sizes are 12 oz, 16 oz, and 20 oz, each adding an additional 50 cents to each upgrade. All milk alternatives cost 1 dollar. It was only a short wait to get our coffees and the cup with the little lab on it was cute. I think specialty drinks have an opportunity to be amazing and one of a kind or the worst drink imaginable. This pomegranate rosemary latte did not fall into either category exactly, but leaned more toward the latter. I love pomegranates and I always appreciate how earthy rosemary can be in a coffee. One of my favorite lattes I have ever had has rosemary in it. This was just not working for me. I shamefully did not finish my coffee. As for my girlfriend, she did not like her ginger spice mocha. I could not imagine gingerbread syrup not working in a mocha, but after trying it myself it was not for me either. It seems like a perfect match, but here the gingerbread is competing with the chocolate and instead of complementing each other they clash. She told me that the flavors were "un-mocha like". She drank less than half of her coffee before tossing it as well. Neither of us wanted to dislike Lucky Lab. They seem well established and I felt like they were trustworthy based on reviews, but I wonder what these previous reviewers were tweaking on or what magical concoction of coffee granted from heaven above they were sipping on because we were distraught by how disappointing these drinks were. I would like to give Lucky Lab Coffee Co the benefit of the doubt and say that maybe the specialty drinks were not up to par with their traditional beverages. However, the almost 30 different syrup options on their wall make me feel they lack a little focus and try too hard to stand out. They lose what makes a coffee good, which is coffee. I want to say I will give them a second shot in the future to see if it was just an off day or a bad beverage pick. Too many shots turns a Lucky Lab into Old Yeller. The lab needs to be put on a leash before I think about returning. RIYL: options

I was a little confused when I drove up because I didn't realize that it's inside the Retreat Yoga Studio. There is a neon sign on the window as well as an A-Frame Sign near the entrance to let you know you're in the right place. Parking is plentiful in the shopping center. Because it's in a Yoga Studio, there isn't much seating (though they did have tables set up outside). The vibe was relaxing and calm. I don't know what scent they had in there, but it smelled nice. This wouldn't be a place to study or work as the seating is limited and I didn't see many outlets. There was a small area with bar stools if you need a tabletop, but most of the seating was couches and lounge chairs. It's more of a place to relax or catch up with a friend. I love when coffee shops have signature drinks. I ordered the Cajeta Crème Brûlée Cappuccino. It was so good, but it came in a small cup. The smoky sea salt was delicious! I don't typically care for sea salt in beverages, but it complimented the flavors so well! I asked the barista to sub oat milk which they were able to do but he informed me that some of the ingredients had dairy (which was fine). I appreciated the disclosure. I was able to drink it without any issues. Because my drink was so small, I decided to order a second one. I went with the Ginger Snap Latte (with oat milk) and it was tasty! I didn't like it as much as the Cajeta Crème Brûlée, but it was really good. I was happy that it was served in a larger cup. The space had plants as well as merch like clothing, scented candles, soaps, and jewelry (which was beautiful). The bathrooms were very clean and had feminine hygiene products as well as a basket with bobby pins and hair ties. I love the attention to detail! We were there close to closing time (3 pm). I appreciated that one of the employees let us know that they would be closing without forcing us to get up and leave. It was on par with the gentle and calming vibe of the space.
