Banana matcha and ube coffee
Celeste N.

Came here on a Sunday afternoon and this place was pretty packed! I got their banana matcha and ube coffee. The matcha (in my opinion) fell a little short to me, I wish it was a richer flavor but I prefer my matcha strong. The coffee was really good and on the sweeter side but overall still amazing!

Latte einspanner

Got the latte einspanner and it was really good. Super unique flavor and definitely stands out compared to normal lattes. The only thing is there is a lot of that foamy cream on top, probably a bit too much, but still tasted great overall. The place is very clean and minimal, with a smaller amount of seating but still a nice vibe to sit and hang out for a bit. Fast service too.

High quality matcha. I love the creative drinks. Limited seating inside, but it's cute enough that you can sit for a couple hours. The place is always packed

My favorite matcha to get in Austin. I usually get the double matcha and it's always creamy and not too sweet with a strong matcha flavor. This time I was craving a black sesame matcha (I just ordered matcha with black sesame top), the black sesame wasn't that strong but it was still delicious! Almost every drink has a pretty topper and makes it perfect for pictures. The workers are always on top of it, never takes a long time even when there's a long line. My group had around 10 drinks and we all got ours fairly quick.

I live for banana flavored coffees and matchas so was excited to try their banana creme matcha. Their matcha was beautiful- came with banana creme and some caramelized banana on top. Super cute! Cute place with some seating to meet up with friends or do some work.

Cà Phê In * Stopped by Cà Phê In while in Austin and it was such a cute little spot Cozy, modern vibes and perfect for a chill coffee break. * We ordered the Coco Ube Matcha and Mango Matcha both super refreshing and creamy. The coco ube matcha was smooth and comforting, while the mango matcha was bright, lightly sweet, and perfect for a warm day * Such a solid café with fun drink options, great flavors, and a welcoming atmosphere. Definitely a spot we'd come back to whenever we're in Austin * #CaPheIn #AustinEats #ATXFoodie #AustinCoffee #VietnameseCoffee

Kudos to Austin for expanding on their Asian coffee shops. Pretty standard no frills coffee shop that has all the classic options. Nothing stands out and it definitely satisfies the cravings for sure! Small interior with limited seating but at least there's plenty of free parking in the garage next door

Whenever I am in Austin this is one of my go to coffee/matcha shop. The store itself is kinda small but offer different seating areas. The decor is minimal but perfect to add to the atmosphere. This time around we got their seasonal brown butter cookies matcha latte and the trio tea latte. The brown butter cookies matcha was slightly sweet and had the perfect amount of cookie butter flavor without overpowering the flavor of the matcha. The trio tea latte was a combination of matcha, jasmine, and earl grey tea with a salted cream top. Although it sounds like it would be too much I thought it was perfect and wasn't too sweet. I love that the workers are kind and patience with me while I was trying to decide what I wanted. This is a must try place if you are in Austin!

Caphe in Coffee is hands down one of the best spots for both coffee and matcha! Everything we tried was amazing--from the rich, creamy coffee to the perfectly balanced matcha drinks. The flavors are unique but still super smooth and easy to enjoy. You can really tell they care about quality--the drinks are beautifully layered and taste just as good as they look. The vibe is also great, making it a perfect place to hang out with friends. Definitely a must-visit if you're a coffee or matcha lover. I'll 100% be coming back!

It's actually pretty easy to spot this place once you're in the area. There's always a line formed outside the entrance! The line actually works its way through pretty fast. Most of the restaurant real estate is not used for sitting though, it's mostly people waiting around. Even with full house staff, it seems like they are always behind just because of the sheer volume of people coming through. So there's nothing really special about the interior. The last time we went, there were maybe 3 skinny tables? The reason I gave it a 3 is because of the prices of these pretty drinks. It's not coffee. It's just a drop of coffee with syrup and sugar, and customers are asked to spend $7 plus tip... If you actually want coffee, there are plenty of other options with places to sit down and have a great conversation with a friend or some alone time. But if you're willing to spend on a drink equivalent to a chipotle bowl and snap a picture and post it on Instagram , this is your spot

Black Sesame latte and Einspanner
Mariam T.

Busy place but the line moves pretty quick! They had a great selection of coffee and matcha drinks. I thought their black sesame latte was to die for and was a really good pick me up. The staff were super friendly and very helpful when I asked for a recommendation. The indoor seating is limited and it is a small place that gets pretty loud so keep that in mind but overall probably the best coffee I had in Austin!

Toasted marshmallows white chocolate matcha and toasted marshmallows mocha
YuShan M.

This is the best matcha/coffee spot in Austin, I have been here many times and still not even close to finish their items on the menu. Tried their seasonal toasted marshmallow white chocolate matcha and toasted marshmallows mocha this time. For all your Asian taste bud, 25% white chocolate sauce gives you perfect balance of not too sweet matcha latte combine with toasted marshmallow. The mocha is great pairing with toasted marshmallow as well. Service is fast and friendly. Pro tip: go in weekday morning to avoid long lines

three tea and oatmilk vanilla matcha
Lauren z.

Pretty good! Prices were a bit confusing for my friend who's smaller and plain matcha with oat milk & vanilla syrup, cost more than my three tea matcha (which was very good). Very small space, crowded, hard to maneuver, loud, uncomfy brick& metal seats/furniture, and not a great place to talk (maybe it was just cause it was a very busy weekend), but staff was friendly, quick, and helpful in adding more syrup to my friends drink. decent & average price for matcha. parking was easy.

That alone made it a great find, but what made the experience even better was discovering that they also had live entertainment on Tuesday night until 11. It turned a simple coffee stop into a really enjoyable evening. I ordered a coffee and a brownie, and while the total was a little on the expensive side, around $15 or $16, it felt completely worth it to me. The quality was there, and everything felt a bit more gourmet than your average coffee shop stop. The brownie was delicious, the coffee was exactly what I wanted, and the overall atmosphere made the price feel justified. Between the free entertainment, the beautiful decor, and the location, it felt like much more than just paying for coffee and dessert. One of the best parts of the experience was the setting. Being right on the water made it especially beautiful at night. You can enjoy your drink, take a walk, look at the lights, and just soak in the scenery. It was the perfect place to unwind after a heavy meal and a long workday. Since I was only in Austin for work and do not live in the area, I was really glad I found somewhere that felt special and relaxing instead of just functional. The staff was also very friendly, which added a lot to the experience. Good service always makes a difference, and here it made the place feel even more welcoming. Just like a number of businesses, Mozart's coffee roasters are featuring Easter related items. They have the cutest little sugar cookies with a Easter theme. My server was friendly and quick. So, was in and out in lightning speed.

As someone who doesn't proclaim to like cheesecake, their Biscoff cheesecake is the exception. Maybe it's a blessing that one isn't close by and I can only indulge every now and then. While exploring the many museums across the University of Texas campus, a quick caffeine break was needed for my girlfriend and we were overwhelmed by the number of options on The Drag. It makes sense that there are plenty of places to choose from because of the large number of UT students. Everyone needs a little coffee in their lives. One of the highest reviewed ones with a large pool of ratings was Lucky Lab Coffee and after checking a few quick reviews, we decided to give it a chance. Lucky Lab has five locations in Austin (four on campus) and one location in Dripping Springs. The one we were at off The Drag was their flagship. This location serves a little bit of everything from sandwiches to pastries, salad to quiche, and of course, coffee. As we walked inside the flagship, it is easy to notice how tight the space is. There is very little seating inside at their bar, but they make up for it with plenty of shaded outdoor space that is perfect for a nice day. Scanning their menu, we landed on some drinks from their winter menu. I was intrigued by their Pomegranate Rosemary Latte while my girlfriend tried their Ginger Spice Mocha. We got them both iced. First, it is interesting to see the fusion of pomegranate and rosemary in a latte. I was intrigued by those flavors. Their drink sizes are 12 oz, 16 oz, and 20 oz, each adding an additional 50 cents to each upgrade. All milk alternatives cost 1 dollar. It was only a short wait to get our coffees and the cup with the little lab on it was cute. I think specialty drinks have an opportunity to be amazing and one of a kind or the worst drink imaginable. This pomegranate rosemary latte did not fall into either category exactly, but leaned more toward the latter. I love pomegranates and I always appreciate how earthy rosemary can be in a coffee. One of my favorite lattes I have ever had has rosemary in it. This was just not working for me. I shamefully did not finish my coffee. As for my girlfriend, she did not like her ginger spice mocha. I could not imagine gingerbread syrup not working in a mocha, but after trying it myself it was not for me either. It seems like a perfect match, but here the gingerbread is competing with the chocolate and instead of complementing each other they clash. She told me that the flavors were "un-mocha like". She drank less than half of her coffee before tossing it as well. Neither of us wanted to dislike Lucky Lab. They seem well established and I felt like they were trustworthy based on reviews, but I wonder what these previous reviewers were tweaking on or what magical concoction of coffee granted from heaven above they were sipping on because we were distraught by how disappointing these drinks were. I would like to give Lucky Lab Coffee Co the benefit of the doubt and say that maybe the specialty drinks were not up to par with their traditional beverages. However, the almost 30 different syrup options on their wall make me feel they lack a little focus and try too hard to stand out. They lose what makes a coffee good, which is coffee. I want to say I will give them a second shot in the future to see if it was just an off day or a bad beverage pick. Too many shots turns a Lucky Lab into Old Yeller. The lab needs to be put on a leash before I think about returning. RIYL: options

Because it's in a Yoga Studio, there isn't much seating (though they did have tables set up outside). The vibe was relaxing and calm. I don't know what scent they had in there, but it smelled nice. This wouldn't be a place to study or work as the seating is limited and I didn't see many outlets. There was a small area with bar stools if you need a tabletop, but most of the seating was couches and lounge chairs. It's more of a place to relax or catch up with a friend. I love when coffee shops have signature drinks. I ordered the Cajeta Crème Brûlée Cappuccino. It was so good, but it came in a small cup. The smoky sea salt was delicious! I don't typically care for sea salt in beverages, but it complimented the flavors so well! I asked the barista to sub oat milk which they were able to do but he informed me that some of the ingredients had dairy (which was fine). I appreciated the disclosure. I was able to drink it without any issues. Because my drink was so small, I decided to order a second one. I went with the Ginger Snap Latte (with oat milk) and it was tasty! I didn't like it as much as the Cajeta Crème Brûlée, but it was really good. I was happy that it was served in a larger cup. The space had plants as well as merch like clothing, scented candles, soaps, and jewelry (which was beautiful). The bathrooms were very clean and had feminine hygiene products as well as a basket with bobby pins and hair ties. I love the attention to detail! We were there close to closing time (3 pm). I appreciated that one of the employees let us know that they would be closing without forcing us to get up and leave. It was on par with the gentle and calming vibe of the space.
