Came by on a Saturday afternoon after eating lunch in the plaza at another Asian restaurant. This plaza always has a great lineup of authentic Asian spots, always enjoy visiting here, but had never tried CoCo's before. They were relatively busy, and it seems like the spot is known for small Taiwanese eats like beef noodle soup and braised pork rice. They also have a solid dessert selection, ranging from boba and slushies to shaved ice, which is what we got. Shaved Ice with 4 Toppings ($6.50, 9/10) - Huge, generous portion for a really fair price - Uses regular shaved ice rather than the fancier snow ice you find at some Korean shops, but the portion size more than makes up for it - You choose four toppings, great variety to pick from, we went with taro, grass jelly, red bean, and another type of jelly, all of them were fantastic - Topped with condensed milk and a bit of extra flavoring - Bowl was massive, easily shareable between two people, probably enough for three or even four people Overall, I've only tried the shaved ice here so far, but definitely want to come back and try some of their Taiwanese food, it looked legit based on other tables' plates. Heads up that the food does look a bit pricey, dishes seem to run around $20, not sure how generous the portions are on those. Taiwanese food is hard to find in Austin in general, so we'll definitely be back, at least for more shaved ice and maybe some boba. read more

Long time customer - I loved their Central location by UT Austin campus, glad this North location has parking and is more spacious. Same great menu and quality here. For their Shaved Ice, you can choose 4 toppings at the right counter. They have traditional toppings (small red bean, big red bean, mung bean, taro, peanut, barley) and modern toppings (jellies, puddings, popping bobas). Entertaining to watch them make it in front of you. It starts with a base of shaved ice, 4 toppings, drizzled condensed milk and brown sugar syrup, another layer of shaved ice, and even more condensed milk and brown sugar syrup on top. It's like a mountain of chilled dessert! Generous portions, great value for $6.50. We did a mix of traditional and modern toppings: small red bean, mung bean, rainbow jelly, and grass jelly. They are all good, you can't go wrong with any of them. The toppings themselves are not too sweet, so the ice and sugar syrups balance out. Very refreshing on a hot summer day! Their food, snacks, and drinks are really good too. The fridge showcase has bottled/canned drinks and various snacks - macarons, mochi, cakes, swiss rolls. Along the left wall is a claw machine and merch case with t-shirts, keychains, and more. Their seasonal drinks are fun to try too. This 2026 summer, they have Pudgy Summer Refreshers, like Pengu Soda and Polly Soda. The Pengu Smoothie features a Taro Coconut Bliss. Pretty and vibrant drinks. Friendly and efficient workers in a welcoming atmosphere. The interior is clean, nicely decorated, cool honeycomb counter, with plenty of seating. Easy to order at the front counter and everything comes out fast. They will call your name when your drinks are ready, pick up is at the left counter. Their new rewards program is called Coco's Pearl Points, where you can get free toppings or drinks after accommodating points for each drink purchase. Parking lot is decent sized and can get full on the weekends, may have to park by the Target in the next plaza. Lots of savory and sweet options. Great cafe for a meal and dessert! read more

The drink offerings are INSANELY awesome! Pengu smoothie is the stuff dreams are made of. It's got marshmallows, coconut, strawberry and more. Looks like a fluffy cotton candy cloud and tastes like perfection. Love the pot stickers and green onion pie. Buns with condensed milk are another lovely little treat. Steamed dumplings-yes, please. Our friends recommended this place and took us here for a final treat after our long fun filled day. What a cute spot! They have a good variety of drinks and for an order of 5, they came out pretty fast! Maybe it was just the time/day that we came but parking was awful and the individual spots are really tight. If you do come here I'd probably recommend parking on the Target side if you can for more space and probably more spots available. It seems that's what a lot of people do already. I love a good Boba drink, and this is the place I will always come for one. A friend introduced me to this wonderful shop. So, I was telling a friend I was looking for a very good Boba place. She suggested CoCo's, and I got the directions. Imagine my surprise, it was next door to a place I go to regularly. I wondered why I hadn't seen this cafe before. The inside was so cute, it had a playful side and a lounge nighttime side, if that makes sense. I can see being here at night. I bet this place is very busy at night. It actually was busy when I was there. I tried to take my pictures away from people. I ordered the Honeydew Smoothie with the Tapioca Pearls. I have to say those pearls stood out. I never had pearls taste so good; they were so tasty and chewy. I was actually stirring my straw, moving the pearls around to get a lot of them at once to come through the straw. Now, granted, on its own, the pearls were coming through, but I think I got a little greedy. I also noticed there are food items on the menu. I saw more than a few entrees I like, and some I want to try. I want to dry the Rice Ball, Fried Tofu with Peanut Sauce, and more. There's so much here to try, and I can't wait. I'm revisiting cocos after having not come here in a while, and while the boba is good, the price of a boba is on the borderline of I wouldn't come here again if I had a choice. The large boba was $9 and some change and I personally always add at least a little bit of tip so that made it over $10 for a simple black milk tea with boba. The service was quick which I appreciated even though the place was packed, and the ambiance was bustling with people and staff for the short time I visited. Would not be my first choice for boba. I was really in the mood for shaved ice and could not find an open location, but I remembered that this place had smoothies and I thought they had shaved ice. They actually only have one shaved ice offering that comes with four different choices of fruit, although they have about 20 Giuce's of toppings and then they put shaved ice on the bottom then the fruit and shaved ice on the top if you want them to. There's also some type of liquid sauce that permeates the ice that is delicious. I forgot the cost, it was around six dollars, and was well worth it. I've been a returning customer at both CoCo's locations since college. I consider them the OG Taiwanese comfort food spot in Austin. Their peppercorn chicken and tofu dishes are filling and balance well with the side of pickled vegetables. I like their light, crispy texture and the scallion, jalapeño, and garlic topping. They have a complimentary self-serve cabbage soup on the side to complete your meal. I've also tried a few of their other dishes including the scallion pancakes (savory and flaky) and lu rou fan (the meat is tender and the egg is marinated well). CoCo's has been one of the OG spots in that shopping center -- I've been going there since I moved to Austin 20 years ago! It's still one of my favorite places for Asian comfort food, and they make some of the best milk tea and taro smoothies with pearls in town. This isn't influencing my rating at all, but fun fact: I actually used to work there ages ago! I got to eat their food 3-4 times a week for lunch, and honestly, I never got tired of it. It was such a fun, startup-style workplace too -- especially getting to make all the drinks myself. My all-time favorite dish is the Peppercorn Chicken with rice -- it's always a hit (and you have to pair it with their jalapeño soy sauce ). In my opinion, they've nailed their milk tea -- perfect balance of tea and milk, and the pearls are just right: warm, sweet, and perfectly chewy. We had not been to CoCo's in over 10+ years! It is definitely an OG type of place for taiwanese food and drinks. You have to wait quite a bit for the food but the scallion pancake is really the best. Super crispy/crunchy. I ordered a 1/2 order but it looked like a full order, not sure if that was a mistake or not. I also got the brown egg (more protein!) to go with my pancake and they were delicious. My kiddo got the eel bowl, comes with pickled veggies on rice. The sauce is really delicious. I can't believe it took me so long to try Coco's Cafe. Coco's is a cute, little Taiwanese comfort food cafe that also makes tasty teas, milk teas, and other Asian beverages. I stopped in for a weekday lunch. You order at the counter and they bring your food to your table. They have a free, self-serve vegetable soup for dine-in customers. Quite frankly, I could eat a whole bowl of that soup and be happy. They also have some condiments for your food like soy sauce, jalapeno soy sauce, chili paste, green onion, cilantro, and more. I got the Steamed Vegetable Dumplings and the Spicy Beef Noodle Soup. The dumplings were bigger than I expected and super tasty. The dough was soft and the side sauce matched perfectly. The noodle soup was absolutely wonderful. I didn't make a single flavor change to it. The noodles were thick and chewy and the broth was ginger-forward. The amount of beef in the soup was unreal too. We are from Houston and I am Taiwanese and this did not taste authentic at all. I recently tried their black milk tea with boba. I ordered it in person and wasn't asked about any preferences (like ice level and sweetness level) so I assumed their drinks weren't very customizable, but looking at their online ordering system it seems that you can choose your ice level and sweetness level. They also have a wide selection of toppings (boba, popping boba, jelly, etc). One thing I'm sure you can't customize, at least with the milk tea, is the choice of milk. Coming here around 7:30pm with a friend, we had no problems finding parking (shared lot with businesses in the plaza) or getting a table. The noise level is low.
