The Meat Lover Banh Mi ($7.95) tasted like your typical Vietnamese sandwich but would have been better with pate. Still good enough to satisfy a craving. The Boneless Combo ($14.99) comes with a box of boneless chicken and a box of fries and is worth it. I chose the housemade special sauce but didn't really like it. The fries were okay too. I would still give it another try with a different flavor. The Galaxy Kumquat Fresh Fruit Tea ($6.50) with lychee jelly ($0.75) we got at half ice and 75% sweet which was perfect for the evening. On a hotter day I would go full ice. The lychee jelly paired really well with the fruit tea and made for a nice refreshing drink with dinner. The Ube Matcha Milk Tea ($7.25) with crystal boba ($0.75) I ordered with no ice since I was saving it for the next day and it was still pretty full. I did 75% sweet which was perfect for this drink. You can't choose your milk so I'm not sure what they use. By the time it was delivered the two layers were already mixed so it looked more like a straight ube milk tea, and I didn't really taste the matcha either. We stopped by for a post-dinner sweet treat and had a great experience. It was a little over an hour before closing, so the shop wasn't too busy. I ordered the Taro Crème Brûlée and my husband had the Crème Brûlée Brown Sugar, both at regular sweetness with regular milk. My drink was creamy with custard and boba, and the taro flavor was strong in the best way. At other milk tea shops the taro can taste faint, but here it really stood out. I might try half sweetness next time, but overall it was delicious. They also offer plenty of snack and food options, which I'd love to try on another visit. As someone who prefers fruit teas over milk teas, I enjoy the variety of selection here! They also have smoothies. Sugar level options is in quarter increments and ice is in half increments. I got the Galaxy Kumquat which the lady said was actually a lemonade and doesn't have tea in it. The purple part is plain in flavor so you need to give the drink a good shake. Prices are on par with other boba spots and the cup is tall. I'd be interested in trying their food options next time. We're from the Dallas area coming in for a visit, so we have a bunch of the main boba spots. Austea is absolutely elite tier. The location is really nice. It's next to a bunch of other shops. Inside Austea is nice and cool which is great for these summer days. They were playing great music and the aesthetics here are great. They have wifi here, so you can get your study on, which is what some folks were doing. We got the two boneless combos with Special matcha Marble , tiger brulee, and Uji matcha. The flavor of the wings were Soy garlic and House made special. The wings were super good. Be warned that the house made special does have a little kick to it which is indicated by the small chili pepper. The drinks were absolutely top tier. Matcha is really good, and the creme brulee flavors just compliment it very well. The curly fries were really good, so make sure you get them. The chicken was all nice and tasty. Boba is nut allergy friendly, didn't even ask. After getting over my shock that there's no oolong tea option, I ordered a honeydew milk tea with boba, 25% sugar, less ice. Received my drink very quickly (6 minutes). The drink itself is very good, but was much sweeter than expected. I guess that's a function of using sweet honeydew. If I were to order again I'd go 0% sweetness. The tapioca was good in texture and size, but there wasn't enough of it. I was finished with all of the boba before even half of my drink was done. Hey good people, just snuck out with the ladies from work to grab a nice little refreshing healthy drink. I really did enjoy my avocado something drink. Forgot the actual name of it but there's only one avocado drink on the menu I believe. I added some Boba to my tea along with 25% level of sugar sweetener. That is just the right level for not too sweet and well-balanced, at least for me it was. Let me get into how creamy it was. At first, I was wondering what was taking so long to make the drink, but then I realized there was a lot of time that was taken to do the accurate measurements to get the fresh code smoothie not overbearing flavor of avocado with the creaminess of whatever else they put in the drink. Once you mix it up real good , you will see exactly what I mean. Now I will say that I was a little surprised at the price, but actually, I think the quality of the drink the demonstration of the display of the cup, the ability to like with these nice black straws that they provide, and the flavor was so consistent. Long story short I'll pay for it again. Outside of that folks, I did see I'm the menu. They had some nice eats, but because they looked mostly fried I didn't give it much energy because I got a watch my figure. Cousin, Go get your drink ! I appreciate that you could choose the type of milk to used without a surcharge (oat, almond, whole). Maybe not the best choice for me, the matcha tasted kinda chalky. The taste didn't mix well with the strawberry and milk. I should plan to return and try their milk teas. They were really friendly and introduced me to their new fried chicken menu. They said they make it all fresh, and it is never frozen. I will have to return to try these The inside is very comfortable with lots of seating inside. I am always so excited to see a new boba shop pop up in Austin and I love that Austea joined our community. It is definitely filling a gap in an area with little to no bubble tea. I have always had a really pleasant experience from the service to the ambiance to the drinks! I think that they do a great job with milk tea drinks and there is a good balance between the tea taste and the syrup that they use. I've ordered Thai Green Tea, Taro Milk Tea, Lychee Green Tea, and Mangonada for myself and for my friends. I personally think that the Thai Green Tea and the Taro Milk Tea were pretty fire, I do think that the boba is a bit too chewy for my preference. I like the drinks at around 75% sugar and half ice and I think that's a good mix for their sweetness level. Austea is a great addition to this area. As far as location this outlet can sometimes get very busy but there is always parking. Service is fast here, with our drinks coming out in less than 5 minutes every time. Most recently I came after a 5 mile walk and was very in the mood for a refreshing beverage. Austea satisfied that and I drank all of my 75% sweet thai tea in line at Cabo Bobs right next door. The tea itself was good, not too sweet and a nice typical red thai tea flavor. Boba was also a good size and quality. Personally the drinks seem a little small for my liking, even the larger size. The boba count also seems on the low end. I was particularly parched on this visit but I seem to empty my drink faster here than other boba tea places which I attribute to the shape/size of the cup. Inside is really nice though with some fun art and cool seating. Definitely a place you could sit down and either study, talk or hang out unlike some other beverage spots. I also noticed wings on the menu which I have yet to try but they looked promising so I will have to sample them at a later date. Overall, solid boba tea spot with a cool atmosphere and convenient location. Happy that is an option for me when I have that inevitable boba tea itch. read more

My coworker and myself were in the shopping center for lunch and I spotted this place and decided to try. I will say that it is worth the hassle of leaving the shopping center. I've been trying to try different boba places as well as different drinks and I am glad I did. The barista was very helpful and definitely understood the assignment. I stepped out of my comfort zone and got a Galaxy Kumquat with black tea. When the barista was originally helping me and asking him questions, I decided to add what he likes to add in his. He asked me if I like sweet (which I do) and added the rainbow & lychee jelly. He knew what he was doing, and I gave me kudos. I loved the all the murals on the wall and just the way it was decorated. They had a nice seating area but since we were on a lunch break, and it was a nightmare exiting the shopping center. This is our go-to boba place! This is a fantastic boba shop especially in South Austin where there are only mediocre and low-end boba options. They have a super clean and cute store with a beautiful mural of Austin, lots of minimalist design elements and plants, and a big clear menu. One of my favorite things about this boba shop is the variety of flavors from honey dew milk tea to creme brulee milk tea to taro slushee to coffee with boba - they really do have every flavor I would want. Of course with customizable sugar and ice levels as well. I've tried all the above and they have all been fantastic, my favorite being taro milk tea. The boba itself is pretty soft and doesn't have that hard inner bit that a lot of places have. Parking is easy and in a huge lot which is one of the great benefits of being in South Austin. As a bubble tea lover, I had to try Austea out. This is probably my new favorite boba spot in Austin. The drinks here are really tasty! I got the Special Matcha Marble drink. Unlike other blended matcha drinks I've had before, the cream inside this drink made this drink both sweet and creamy. Taro is one of my favorite flavors when it comes to boba drinks so of course I also had to get the Taro Marble drink. The cream inside the drink also added a sweet and cream flavor that tasted good with the sweet taste of blended taro. Lastly I got a classic milk tea. Some places make their basic milk teas a little bland or with a slightly stronger herbal taste. But, the classic milk tea here was just right. Just the right amount of sweetness and milky taste without being overpowering. The decor inside the shop is pretty cool too. I'm so glad that South Austin now has a yummy boba spot.
