dried material left on my back patio, never cleaned up/removed.

I had a leak on the back wall of my house coming down from the wall to where my sliding door was in early summer. My neighbor recommended Chan to fix the siding where the leak was. I showed Chan the issue, and he drafted up a proposal which would fix the roofing and repair siding - "rotten wood only". My main concern was the siding along the back where the sliding door was (as that is where the leak appeared) - which I pointed out to Chan and asked him several times before signing the contract if he could repair/replace the back wall area where leak was. He said yes, and said that this was what the "walls rotten wood only" clause covered. So, I agreed to have him repair my siding and roof in July 2018. His team did not come back until August, even though this was an urgent matter. While his team and him worked, they left a mess when they removed the skylight on the roof, and put it back on. They removed it and placed it back on several times, letting dust and random material fall into the house onto the furniture, dining table, and floor. They didn't think to cover their work area first, nor did they come in to clean up the mess afterwards. His team also lifted up the exhaust pipe (that leads up to the roof and connects to the water heater on the second floor) and did not put it back in place after jilting it around. He removed the gate that divided my neighbor's back patio and mine, and never replaced it. The downspout runs straight to the floor, right next to the foundation - which should never happen (as debris/leaves could get stuck in the spout and accumulate; and could cause damage the foundation over time being so close to it). A roofing professional should know this and yet him and his team did a completely poor job, as if they didn't care. Most importantly, he did not replace the siding (the main request from this contract) as he promised. The siding is still full of dry rot. It was very telling when I spoke with Chan during his work about pricing, and he asked why I cared since the HOA is paying for it. He basically implied that I shouldn't care how much he was charging since he thought I wasn't paying for it. But homeowners fund the HOA... and with only 12 units in our community, every $ counts and we are all paying for our repairs. So the fact that he was so dismissive about the pricing was insulting. He also called me a liar regarding replacing the siding that I requested - which was my original reason to have him come over and take a look at the wall where the leak was. I do not understand how he can still be in business acting this unprofessionally. I have called a number of times and his wife and him keep postponing when he can come back and finish the job that he had did incorrectly or not at all: -did not replace the gate he tore down -downspout was done incorrectly and will easily clog -rotten siding on the wall where the leak occurred was not replaced (the main purpose of having him fix my unit) -does not do things with care and does not clean up after their work A huge warning to not do business with him - especially through an HOA as he will take advantage of the fact that the homeowner isn't paying directly, and he will do the absolute minimum or less than minimum and try to get away with it. His wife is the only positive part of the business - she is very nice, respectful, and is in the unfortunate position serving as the buffer in communication between the clients and Chan.

Review #1,056 Posted on 5.7.26…read more I've used Tri-City Roofing a bunch of times now as a property manager. Most recently at a house in Union City I manage just this last month in April to do roof repairs & a new gutters throughout. Tri-City is a family owned company that's been around for years. They're extremely organized and have really transparent & good communication skills. Their work is clean, and they do a good job for a very fair price. Vendor reliability is tough for consumers or someone in my position professionally as well, you have lots of people counting on you to get quality work done, at a fair price. I've had great experiences working with the team at Tri-City Roofing.

Tri-City Roofing has been an AMAZING find for our roofing needs. We found out suddenly that our…read moreroof shingles may be failing so Tri-City was our first call. Greg came out very quickly for the initial inspection. He was courteous, honest, and helpful. They gave us their assessment within a few hours of their inspection. We needed a whole new roof. We were in shock but Tri-City helped us understand all of the different aspects of why. We emailed many, many questions. We always got very prompt, detailed responses (sometimes within the hour of sending the email!). When we got the bid, it was very competitive to the other bids we had received. Tri-City's bid though had many more options as well as a breakdown of ALL of the costs. When we signed our contract with them, we felt that there would NOT be any "gotchas" during the project where the contractor would say, "Oh we have to charge you more than we thought". Tri-City gave us the option to go to the roofing supply company, QXO/Al's Roofing Supply, to select which roof we preferred. Jeff at QXO was very helpful and reinforced what a good company Tri-City was to work with. When asked about scheduling, again, Tri-City & their office staff Jeannine and Viviana were super helpful. They were able to get us on their schedule quickly to work around things from our schedule. Once they started working, the foreman Oscar was easy to access and again, very responsive and helpful with our many questions. There were various crews that came at different stages of the total roof replacement. Each of the workers wore Tri-City Roofing shirts, acted professionally and courteously and worked hard the entire time they were here. We were told the project would take @ 3 days to complete. They were completely DONE in TWO days!!!! We were able to take photos and observe the different stages of their stellar work. At the end of each day, the workers made sure the house, garage, & grounds were clean and free of debris. They were very careful about the pets we have as well. When we started this project we were worried and overwhelmed. Once we met Tri-City Roofing and got to know them through our many, many questions via emails and phone calls, we knew that we were in good hands. Tri-City Roofing has the experience you want in fixing or replacing your roof. They have the right crews, staff, and knowledge to help with anything you need regarding your roof. They are competitively priced and is willing to give you options so you can pick what works best for your wallet as well as for the beauty of your home. Our new roof is spectacular! We are confident that this new roof will last us for many years to come. We also know that if we have any concerns regarding our roof, Tri-City Roofing will be there to help and support us. They are in it for the long haul which we very much appreciate. On a scale from 1 to 10, they are a 20+!! Thank you Tri-City Roofing!

I will try to keep this short and sweet, but there is a lot of important details that I want to…read morehighlight about Atlas Roofing. First of all, I called because in the last rain storm we had in the Bay Area, we found evidence in our ceiling of a water spot in the drywall. I searched the yelp and was looking for roofing companies that had at least a four star rating and was quickly intrigued by the five star rating of Atlas Roofing. I called and immediately received a little bit of guidance on the phone and was given an appointment for the next day to have somebody come out and take a look. The next day Dave came out and spent a good amount of time looking on the inside of the house, going through the attic, and walking on the roof itself to look and see if he could find the leak and also to gauge the condition of the roof and the wood foundation underneath the wall roof. I originally was hoping to just repair where the leak was, but after talking to Dave I realize that it would be better to just replace the entire roof. My roof was already 30 years old. Dave gave me clear options to either repair the hole or replace the whole roof, and within that there were several options to choose from in replacing the roof. He carefully explained the process, the amount of time he anticipated the job to take, and what I could expect. Everything that Dave said and explained was 100% accurate. He is professional, knowledgeable, and very good at explaining things in Laymans terms The job started the following Monday. The crew was very efficient, very professional, and worked at an incredible pace. They cleaned up after themselves every day. By the end of the first day, the old roof was off and the wood base was exposed completely. At this time they were able to show me that there was no need to replace the wood underneath the roof. By the end of the first day they had started to place some of the new roof on the backside of my house. Within three days, the entire roof was finished. Dave and his crew handled all of the inspections from the city, pulled all the permits needed, and took care of everything from beginning to end. I could not be more happy with the quality of the craftsmanship, the crew, and of course, the roof. Having a 50 year roof and a piece of mind is important during these times. I did not plan to have to replace a roof (I don't think anybody does) but I am happy that I found Atlas Roofing. I would highly recommend this company. I know a lot of people cut corners and I know a lot of people find a cheap alternative. I truly believe you get what you pay for. I can go on and on about my experience, but I think pictures are worth 1000 words. I wanted to be detailed in this review because most people will only replace a roof once or twice in their lifetime. It's not like we have a lot of resources or experience with this. Dave and Atlas Roofing are worth the time and investment that you put into this. While I hope I never need another roof in my lifetime, I would not hesitate to go through Atlas if that need ever came up in the future.

After getting a few different quotes and looking into several roofing companies nearby, I decided…read moreto go with Atlas Roofing for my roof replacement. Their prices are fair , Tony was very detailed and explained everything well . Their crew did high quality work!
