I…read morecalled 3 highly reviewed roofing companies in the Bay Area. 2 came out and gave me quotes, 1 no showed. Out of the 2 that came out, I choose to go forward with Apollo Roofing. I chose them for 2 major reasons. 1) they were going to deal with the scheduling of the removal and réinstallation of our solar panels. And 2) Shahar was so kind, informative, and honest during our consultation. He was through and kept us updated every step of the way. When our project finally started the crew were so respectful and kind! We found way more damage than we expected which resulted in our quote going up. However, due to Shahar being honest at the consultation we knew this was a possibility so it wasn't super shocking. The crew was great at cleaning up at the end of every day, which we appreciate as we have chickens, ducks, a puppy and cat as well as a child who are outside. When the project was done, there were a few concerns we had, we talk to Shahar and he quickly corrected and had the crew fix the items. Our roof is beautiful and will hopefully last many many years to come. I am thankful we went with Apollo Roofing and Happy Shahar was our project manager.

David and Gilbert were there every step of the project. I live in the Santa Cruz mountains and David still made the time to travel almost every day to make sure our project was running smoothly. My wife and I are first time homeowners and I feel like David did a great job addressing all our concerns including all the heavily rotted wood that needed replacing. This summer (summer 2026), we had a tree branch fall on our ADU roof and caused some shingle and underlayment damage. Top Tier provided a decent quote to come out to repair the damage. Greg came out very quickly for the initial inspection. He was courteous, honest, and helpful. They gave us their assessment within a few hours of their inspection. We needed a whole new roof. We were in shock but Tri-City helped us understand all of the different aspects of why. We emailed many, many questions. We always got very prompt, detailed responses (sometimes within the hour of sending the email!). When we got the bid, it was very competitive to the other bids we had received. Tri-City's bid though had many more options as well as a breakdown of ALL of the costs. When we signed our contract with them, we felt that there would NOT be any "gotchas" during the project where the contractor would say, "Oh we have to charge you more than we thought". Tri-City gave us the option to go to the roofing supply company, QXO/Al's Roofing Supply, to select which roof we preferred. Jeff at QXO was very helpful and reinforced what a good company Tri-City was to work with. When asked about scheduling, again, Tri-City & their office staff Jeannine and Viviana were super helpful. They were able to get us on their schedule quickly to work around things from our schedule. Once they started working, the foreman Oscar was easy to access and again, very responsive and helpful with our many questions. There were various crews that came at different stages of the total roof replacement. Each of the workers wore Tri-City Roofing shirts, acted professionally and courteously and worked hard the entire time they were here. We were told the project would take @ 3 days to complete. They were completely DONE in TWO days!!!! We were able to take photos and observe the different stages of their stellar work. At the end of each day, the workers made sure the house, garage, & grounds were clean and free of debris. They were very careful about the pets we have as well. When we started this project we were worried and overwhelmed. Once we met Tri-City Roofing and got to know them through our many, many questions via emails and phone calls, we knew that we were in good hands. We hired Bay 101 Roofing ~10 years ago to re-roof the flat part of our roof (around 1,250 sqft),…read moreinstalling frame to slope the roof, insulation and torch-down material. The roof held Ok for 8 years, but leaked in the south and east corners of our home 2 years ago. Bay 101 made repairs under warranty. It leaked again last year -- and again was repaired. This summer I checked roof condition and found that it now came apart at the west side (photos 1, 2). On top of that, there were bubbles in the middle of the roof. Bay-101 told me that the reason for continued issues is that the material they used poor quality material and switched suppliers. However, the roof is no longer under warranty and I have to pay to replace it. We had to re-roof again! I hired another company to do the job and during the tear-down they found that while framing and insulation was done well, the torch-down material was installed on top of insulation (fire hazard) and also wasn't fully treated (as seen on photos 3, 4 and 5). The new installers told me that another layer of material (i.e. plywood) on top of insulation was needed to ensure torch-down material would hole. This cost me another $3,500 on top of the cost of re-roofing to get the insulation covered. I am not happy with the poor work done on my house by Bay 101 Roofing, to put it mildly!

I ended up choosing Lifetime because A) Project Manager Yonas is a dang superstar B) they quoted the best price for the job C) they had the best warranty BY FAR and D) they handled the permitting process entirely. Their crews always showed up when they were supposed to and were so friendly and pleasant. Not to mention amazingly efficient. They pulled off our old roof in a matter of a few hours and put plywood over the entire roof on just the first day. When they left, they cleaned up the yard including using a blower on the driveway, front path, and lawns. Each day of work was the same. The crew arrived early, did a fantastic job, and left the site as clean as when they arrived. In total, the job took a week. What was even more impressive is I knew there was some wood rot that needed repair so had budgeted more than quoted just in case the price went over. Nope. The final price was the exact price quoted. Even though there were 3 areas that needed repair. One of the other companies I talked to charged $150/hr + materials for wood repair. Another company flat out refused to take the job unless I found a separate contractor to repair those areas in advance. Lifetime adds some repair costs into their quote and they honor it. They very easily could have said the repair went over the allocated amount and we would have never known the difference.
