We were very satisfied with the in home consultation. Explain options, the project, on getting invoice with total cost of project. The crews were excellent with ripping off old, replacing patches where needed, & installing new roofing & gutters. They cleaned up rubbish after themselves. Highly recommend this Roofing Company!!! Excellent work being done. The roof looked great. Very nice to work with. I also used them 11 years ago for an overlay for $3000. That roof still working well. read more

Adam fixed multiple broken tiles on our roof. He also fixed the roof gutters, replaced the damaged wood. Adam is sincere and professional in his work. He quoted me nominally and got the job done on time and to my satisfaction. I'd recommend Adam's team to all interested. read more

It's really nice to see that this business has gone back to the family that started it many years ago and built a great company that replaced many of the roofs in Fremont. We first met the original founder Kevin more than 14 years ago and he was warm and sincere in his approach to customers and that was reflected in his employees also who worked with care and concern. So a few months ago our backyard shed roof needed to be replaced. I reached out to Sonrise and Adam came over, quoted a fair price and did the job perfectly. Even though it was a small job compared to doing the main home, he took the same care and concern and did the job perfectly. As usual!!! And cleaned up very well and very quickly. I have recommended him to the rest of my home owners group and would gladly recommend Sonrise to anyone who needed help with either a new roof or just roof repairs. read more

We purchased a property with roof previously replaced (more than 10 years ago) by Sonrise roofing. We discovered a leak and call the company. Adam came right away to inspect the issues, it turns out the leak was due to built up of leaves in the gutter causing water sitting in the flat area of the roof. The roof is still in very good conditions. Adam cleaned up the build up and also sealed some of the vents that could potential causing leaks in the future. This is way beyond what I would expect from a roofing company. They didn't charge us anything for the cleanup. I would not hesitate to use this company for any future roofing needs and highly recommend them to any of my friends. read more

I had my roof replaced by Sonrise in 2024. When I sold my home in 2025, the inspectors found a few minor issues. I tried researching the company and saw they were closed, and I'll be honest -- I panicked. I called the office and learned that the previous owner who handled my job was no longer in business. Even though he was the one paid for the work, Adam and his sister immediately took responsibility. They didn't make excuses, they didn't push back -- they simply said, "No problem, when can we meet?" Adam showed up on a rainy day, was incredibly kind, professional, and responsive, and he took care of everything on the spot. I'm genuinely grateful they are back in business because contractors with this level of integrity are rare. Their customer service and workmanship are excellent, and if I ever need another roof, they will be the only company I call. Thank you, Adam. read more

Stay away, these guys are super dishonest roofers The new roof was installed in 2020 Oct and started leaked right after first rain. The old owner Kevin did the job and sold the business. The new owner is greedy and a con artist. I am taking both these guys to the court and also reporting to California license board. They don't want to honor warranty on roof thought it is legally within the warranty and is their responsibility. There poor workmanship is so bad as seen in the photos attached, they want to save there face and will point finger at other things saying your warranty is void etc The business is liable to my contract, roof and the water damages which is destroyed after the rain, though it is a new roof. They are playing games and don't want to honor any warranty on their workmanship. They will eventually pay dearly when the law is going to show them when they are doing such dishonest business I don't expect them to survive too long with such quality of service and dishonesty I highly recommend you have all the communication and contract in written because they will lei to your face and change their words. read more

Sonrise had replaced my roof on my own house a few years ago so they were my first call when my parents needed a repair. Adam handled an emergency roof repair for my parents with speed and integrity. His decency and kindness toward my parents were truly stand-out. We've now signed up for their yearly maintenance and gutter cleaning to prevent future issues. Thank you for saving the day and providing peace of mind. Adeline and Adam, the next generation of Sonrise, are off to a fantastic start! read more

If you need a re-roof in the Tri-City area, look no further. Sonrise Roofing is the cream of the crop. Earlier this year, I was sorely in need of a re-roof for my 1960s house. After procuring several bids, Sonrise was by far the most competitive and reasonable. In addition to my reroof, they installed gutters + leaf guards. They did impeccable work, and used top quality materials. I really liked the fact they're the only roofer I know of who wraps your roof's vents in shingle-like materials (I'm not sure what the term for this is). It gives the roof a very polished look. A few of my neighbors recently did their roofs on my block, and mine looks the best! You need to know that many roofing companies that serve the Bay Area are based out of the Valley or Sacramento area, hence their bids will be much higher (more so now with the rising cost of gas). In this respect it makes a lot of sense to use a local roofer. If you decide to go with Sonrise, know they're busy and there may be a wait. I paid my deposit in April 2021, and had my project scheduled for late June. Shortly after my roof project, I had solar panels installed. Unbeknownst to me, the solar contractor mistakenly drilled unnecessary holes in my roof and didn't seal one of them properly. After October's heavy rains, I noticed a leak in my roof. I reached out to my project manager, Adeline, who promptly dispatched a repairman to take care of the issue. They later told me it was the solar contractor who did this, but they took care of the leak for me at no charge anyway. That's what I call customer service! Again, don't hesitate to go with Sonrise - they are the best at what they do. read more

After contacting 8 roofers to provide a quote to replace our roof, we decided to go with Sonrise Roofing (Stormless Co.). Our decision was not solely based on cost, we took into consideration the warranty, ease of coordinating with our and the electric solar company's schedule, and help finding a contractor for our pool solar. Jose was available late at night and early in the morning to answer our questions. Their team arrived early each morning and made sure debris was cleared at the end of each day. We highly recommend Sonrise Roofing. read more

I contacted the new owner of Sonrise Roofing, Jose Sanchez, to determine if a damaged solar panel that powered a bedroom skylight could be covered by the 10 year workmanship warranty when the firm replaced the entire roof at my mother's home in Fremont in December 2018. I made arrangements for Jose to inspect the solar panel, and he successfully re-connected the solar panel and verified that the skylight now works. I recommend Jose Sanchez and Sonrise Roofing to back their workmanship based on my positive interactions. read more

Gary showed up within 30 minutes of talking to me. He is one, maybe the only, honest roofing business owner left. I told him about other quotes I had received and he didn't understand what they could possibly do for what they were going to charge me for a roof leak. He has gained a new customer for life. I want to refer people to him but the only person I know with a damaged roof had it fixed already, please call Sonrise and give them a shot at your business. If you want an honest business that is prompt and hard working call Sonrise! If extra stars were available for honesty I would give them! read more

My wife and I were needing to redo the roof in preparation for solar panels. Adeline came out and assessed that the roof needed plywood as the existing one was soft. I did my due diligence and shopped around while corresponding different options with Adeline. In the end, Jose, Adeline's business partner, personally called me and assured me quality workmanship and would work to accommodate our needs. Fast forward: At the conclusion of this project, I completely agree, Jose and his crew did a fine job. There was one worker that wasnt very professional but I give the benefit of the doubt to Sonrise as one person shouldnt be reflective of an entire company. I highly recommend Sonrise; if you want quality roofing, fair prices, and a company that is above honor and integrity, Sonrise goes above and beyond. You won't regret it! read more

It's been about two weeks since we replaced our roof with Sonrise. It was a joy working with Adeline and Kevin. Adeline was very response throughout. The quote was detailed and clearly laid out additional charges (mainly gutters and how wood rot would be charged). I opted to pay a bit extra for ridge vents and am glad I did. Especially in the garage it is a noticeable difference in venting the hot air out. During the install, Kevin noted we couldn't retro fit our existing skylights. As they were a standard size, he kindly picked up 2 skylights from HD for us and billed us afterwards. Kevin wisely advised to cut back the beams over the garage to prevent future water damage, rather than just replacing them and having them rot later. He also added extra support where needed on our gutters. The crew was professional and cleaned up afterwards. The supervisor used a blower to clean up the debris. There were a few nails here and there but nothing a magnet on a string can't solve. I'll update this review in 6 months, especially after rainy season. :) read more

Adeline, VP, came by to give initial estimate for the roof. She was honest and quick to the point. I contacted them to ask few options regarding roof and Adeline responded instantly and later deferred to owner Greg saying "He does installation himself". Greg was complete opposite. He threw tantrums when I asked him if they do metal valleys instead of weaved valleys saying that weaved valleys are superior and made all kind of excuses while Adeline had mentioned they themselves do metal valleys for Certainteed landmark presidential shingle. Later when I asked for references, they provided me exactly 1 reference that too took multiple reminders and emails over few days. When I asked if they share couple of more, Adeline deferred me to the owner Greg. I called Greg only to hear him bragging about how they put 120 roofs in a year and I should take them by their word. He was rude, getting unnecessarily aggressive over phone and later said he doesn't want to service Sunnyvale area. Why not share this upfront instead of making customers waste their time? Seems with change of ownership from Kevin to Greg, the place has quickly gone downhill. read more

There's a reason why you don't see many reviews for roofing companies. It's not something a typical homeowner has to deal with many times over the course of home ownership. This company deserve some praise. I left feeling like this was some of the best money we spent. Here is what really surprised me (ALL POSITIVE) - They were always clear and transparent about the costs and upgrade options. And they never tried to up sell me. We chose to go one level above the basic even as they mentioned to us we really didn't need to. No sales pitches here. - I can tell you after getting quotes from 5 other companies that also had 4stars or better on Yelp SONRISE was unbeatable in their overall pricing. - They were early on the job, early off the job. How often have you made appointments only to have contractors show up late? Not once with SONRISE. - Greg was an example of a person that pays attention to details and goes above and beyond. He mentioned there were little gaps and imperfections on our roof after they tore the old one off and he came back and spent extra hours to get things perfect before they put the new roof layers back on. It was also just a pleasure to chat with him a little sharing some funny stories and experiences. - Everything was permitted, inspected and signed off by our city. Both inspectors I had a chance to meet spoke highly of Kevin, Greg and their crews' work. It's a positive sign when they tell you, you chose one of the best companies to work with. - Lastly working with Adeline was so easy and straightforward. She made the coordinating easy helped answer every question promptly and didn't apply any pressure when we were the ones slowing them down. Is it possible to get a reasonable service, with no sales pitches, with honest and fast high quality work? It is with this company. I will recommend them to family, friends and neighbors any day. I was so impressed. read more

We had our roof replaced (in Belmont, CA) by Sonrise earlier this year. All in all, they did a very good job. The work job was completed in a timely manner, even in the face of some inclement, rainy winter weather. Pricing was very competitive and reasonable. It was a pleasure working with both Adeline on the business/contract side, and Jose on scheduling, planning, directing, and overseeing the work itself. Jose and Adeline were always immediately available for questions, issues, etc, by text or phone call and explained everything extensively. I recommend them highly. read more

Best roofing company around. There work is above and beyond. Greg is awesome to work with.

My wife wanted our roof replaced for the longest time. We went with Sonrise Roofing because they provided the lowest estimate (another company would have charged us about $15,000 too, but the final one that was contacted gave us an estimate for over $20,000- needless to say, it was easy to not go with that company). My wife established a good rapport with Kevin, the president (most of the details were hammered out via email). He was helpful and friendly the whole time. We had to get approval from the San Lorenzo Village Homes Association (I was pretty annoyed). This threatened to delay things, but Kevin was flexible. The roof could have been worked on the following week if necessary (it's nice that this was an option, but I wasn't going to allow things to be delayed). The work began on 9/20 and ended on 9/22. The workers were slow at first (Kevin's son was surprised that not much had been done on the 20th- I think the weather played a role), but it wasn't really an issue. I covered some items in the garage with a tarp. Only some dirt and gravel entered the garage, however. There also wasn't much to clean up in general. Costs: Roof and Gutters: $14,885. Skylights: $800. (The new skylights were given to us for free.) Dry Rot: $565. A deposit of $1,485 was made. The grand total was $15,450. https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/sonrise-roofing-fremont?select=CgtVO3ZJ15FB7QPZwfZMxA: The boards with dry rot were removed, but half of them weren't replaced. Kevin was upset at the lack of communication (the workers didn't tell him about the boards, and so he had to ask my wife at the last minute if she wanted to pay to have them replaced- time was a factor, which is why we didn't press the issue). A good job was done in terms of the vents that were added. My wife had to remind Kevin about it, but a satellite dish that came with the house was removed (I'm relieved- I wanted our contractor to remove the dish months ago, but he totally forgot about it). https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/sonrise-roofing-fremont?select=exMCaYh8mLokXjtXz4Pcqg: My wife was surprised that we couldn't receive the cash discount if she paid by check. Anyway, she met Kevin at a credit union on the 28th to pay off the balance in cash (Kevin was good about providing us with an invoice). My mother-in-law recently hired Sonrise Roofing too. Her experience was also a positive one. I'm glad overall that we went with Sonrise Roofing. A very solid job was done. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u7aNZlNnyvI read more

Excellent roofing company, excellent work done. We got 4 bids before we had our house & garage roof replaced; we chose Sonrise, as they were the cheapest, and also had great online reviews. I was in the process of getting solar on my roof but was at a crossroads as I knew the roof had reached it's end of life. The solar company provided an estimate to replace a section of the roof that was about 75% of what I ended up replacing for the entire house! John was great to work with through the process. The only feedback I would share with others is that don't wait as long as I did after getting the estimate as the price of roofing material can change quickly. I needed more than 30 days to decide how I wanted to move forward and the pricing change was about 10%... so get your estimates, make a decision and move forward. This is 5 Star positive review for Sonrise Roofing (Fremont, CA) - Family Owned Business. We got multiple bids for our Roof replacement. However, we decided to use this Company because Adeline and Jose (estimators)were very friendly, professional and gave us fair price. They were always available to answer all questions & scheduled our project in timely manner that was very appreciated. They made this huge process so easy. We could not be happier with Jose's crew: Oscar and Alfredo. Our very high quality roof was replaced in less than one week with outstanding results. They arrived every day before 8 am and got to work right away. Oscar and Alfredo worked tirelessly through out this project. They cleaned all backyard and front yard after project was completed, loaded all old staff onto their truck. Hands down a TOTAL AMAZING Experience with this Company!!! I would highly recommend Fremont Sonrise Roofing to anyone who needs a professional, kind and skilled team for a roof project!!! Thank you very much!!!!! Kevin Farrer, you can be very proud for your Team! PS They are very humanitarian people. Besides the normal process they didn't request any Down payment, so after final inspection ( City Inspector Don was very impressed and told me that I'm lucky one!) Buyer beware!!! I had this company install new gutters on my house, and they turned out looking good. BRIAN told me that I only need gutter guards on two of my gutters, because, there were no trees on the one side of my house... he, also, tried to convince me I needed a new roof (I'm a 75 year old woman, who lives alone). When I bulked, no leaks and I was on year 30 if 40 year shingles. He said he would bring the shingle company rep to look at my roof....his mistake, because the rep said there was nothing wrong with the roof!!! Two things happened: (1) some how one of my down drains got kinked. And, (2) the gutters filled up with debris. Upon having someone check, I found gutter guards had only been installed in one side. I called them back and asked if they could repair the kinked portion and put guards on all the gutters. After several calls, someone finally showed up and gave me a quote, and a date to do the work. They never showed! I have made several calls and have been repeatedly "jerked around". I've been assured that things would be taken care of...at this point, I wouldn't let them on my property. Solid 5 Stars for Kevin and Sonrise Roofing. Kevin and his crew did everything they committed to and even more. Kevin let me know that I had a leak in a skylight and wanted me to know. You know, I am really surprised. Jose seemed so nice in the beginning. I have 2 houses in East Palo Alto. I paid to have him put a new 40 year roof in one house. In the mean time there was a leak in my 2nd house. I had extensive damage in the kitchen, so I called hime. I asked him to take a look and make the roof repair to my second house. He hired some guys, but did not go to the site himself. The guys told him that there were a ton of leaves on the roof but there was no leak on the roof. Jose never double checked and told me that the roof was now maintained and cleared and charged me. Jose explained to me that the water could have gone through the collected leaves and that there, was in fact, no leak in the roof. Next I called ServPro. ServPro, found moisture in the kitchen and hired their own roofer. The roofer fixed the found and fixed the leak and also said the maintenance was incomplete so I had to pay for the maintenance twice. Also, by the time I had the second roofer out it had been at least a month of ongoing damage to my kitchen. I think that missing a leak, one that I told him was there, was a huge failure. I would not hire him again and I don't recommend him. I now have over $100k in repairs. It would have been nice if he had checked for the leak himself. I asked for a refund since he had charged me to maintain the roof, but failed to clean the gutters but he refused. read more

Great communication. Good work, for a reasonable price. Would definitely use them again for any other roofing jobs I need done. I got eight bids to reroof the flat part of my flat tar and gravel roof that developed a leak last winter. The bids ranged from $5,500 to $12,200. Sunrise was not the cheapest but Kevin was very easy to communicate with. The bid came with a 10 year warranty on the labor plus was the only bid that offered a lifetime warranty on material (IB Roof Systems which is a 50 mil PVC single ply product). I checked with the contractors License Board and they are fully licensed for the work and have proper insurance. A ten year warranty on labor is only good if the company stays in business but since Sonrise has been in business since 1986, I feel confident that they will remain in business- especially since Kevin works with his sons. Not all of the companies were having the work permitted by the City- but Kevin did and he followed through. I spoke to the City inspector and he told me he was very impressed with the workmanship of the job - that also makes me feel I made the right decision about choosing Sonrise for my project. read more

Sonrise Roofing completed my roofing project last week. It included a new roof, some dry rot repair and new gutters. They provided the lowest estimate out of several companies. The work was estimated to take 3 days but was done in 2. Everything looks great and is working properly so far. Communication was good although was lost a few times waiting for the work to start (about a month). The total cost for my 1,275 sq feet house was about $11,500 (+-: $9,100 roof, $1,200 dry rot repair & the rest for gutters) I would recommend Sonrise Roofing for their professionalism, price & quality of work. read more

Do not trust this company! They hire incompetent roofers who cut corners! Had my new roof installed in 1998 by a worker at Sonrise, named Dave Milichichi. Dave and someone else from the company quoted the estimate and guaranteed the work for 25 years. When the roof tear off began, Dave was suppose to remove the 40yr old Roof to Wall Flashing, install new, and put a new roof on. The completed work looked great! Little did we know the roof would begin to leak 15 years later. After noticing water in storage containers in the attic, we had a friend come out and look at our roof. He immediately pointed out that the gables were both leaking, and found old roof to wall flashing. This company, which we paid thousands to, cut corners and guaranteed something they can't stand behind. Should have suspected something when Dave didn't provide us with the receipt. He told us to contact his office, Sonrise, that they could email it to us (in 1998-1999). Called and spoke with someone on three separate occasions, whom told us they would email and mail a copy of the guarantee and receipt for services provided. Never happened. Present day: Roof is leaking on both gables. Have to find a reputable roofing company to come out and repair. Sonrise is NOT reputable, and does not stand behind their work. Their roofers are incompetent and cut corners. Do not waste your money doing business with them. read more

I don't always give 5 star reviews, but when I do, it's well-deserved. There were several things that we wanted done on our home including replacing the roof and gutters, installing a skylight (they called it a sun tunnel), and installing new flashing for our kitchen and bathroom vents. I first contacted Brian at Sonrise who came out and gave me a bid. I appreciated that he respected my time and did the inspection promptly and sent the bid the following day. The estimate was reasonable and we were ready to start right away. They scheduled us in one day later and were done with all the work in TWO DAYS. Fyi our house is under 1200 sq ft. Adam and Francisco were the ones who did all the work on our house. They. Were. Fast. I even came home early from work on the first day and they had already cleaned up and left before I even got home! The second day I rushed home early again and just caught them as they were cleaning up and ready to leave. I want to be clear: in no way did their speed affect the quality of their work. It's clear that they know what they are doing and they do it well, and efficiently. In the process of doing various other projects on our house we've had some bad experiences with other contractors who dragged jobs out endlessly and tried to gouge us with additonal costs at every turn. Those experiences were miserable and to be honest I was preparing myself to expect the worst when we were looking for roofers. BUT I can't tell you how pleased I am with the entire process from start to finish! I wish all people ran their businesses on the basic principles of efficiency, good work ethic, and fair prices for quality work. Also I think the fact that they are local made the city inspection process much more streamlined and efficient. If you need any roof work done, do yourself a favor and call Sonrise. We will never call anyone else for our roofing needs in the future! read more
