I've been using Marco Roofing (Diamond Certified) for the past 2-3 years. They have always done a good job at a fair price and been very responsive. Today Chris Scoville came by to check on some netting that I thought was coming loose around the vent pipes. It was put in at the beginning of the year to keep rodents away. He made sure that all of the netting was in tact on all of the pipes and also removed a large piece of moss that could have clogged the gutters and downspouts. Had a new roof put on early spring and went with the full ridge vent. Was concerned about trapped heat as I was going from an old shake on slats to the full cover plywood and asphalt shingle. The garage stayed noticeably cooler this summer with the full ridge vent so yay! I don't have A/C and it wasn't an unbearably hot summer so can't quite qualify the interior house temp but with the garage definitely being cooler the house likely was overall too, until the afternoon sun bakes in through the front window, but that's a separate issue to tackle. The job took 4-days, really 3.5-days with the first 0.5 being a crew who peeled off the old shakes the first day and some supply delivery. 2nd was delivering more supplies, checking for dry rot, replacing as needed, and starting the plywood, and waterproofing. 3rd was shingling and gutters (separate crews), 4th finishing everything up including painting the vents to match with the new roof. Marco Roofing sub-contracted under Cal Pro Contractors for a tough redesign/repair job on our roof, which had been botched by a different roofer. A year later, I found a single shingle in our yard and called Marco Roofing and asked them to schedule an inspection. Their awesome estimator, Chris Scoville, visited and re-inspected the roofs on our house and shed, and determined that the shingle had blown off a neighbor's patio-cover's roof (which I informed them about). Seeing the photos that were taken by Cal Pro Contractors when the redesign/repair job was in progress informed me that Cal Pro Contractors had DEFINITELY selected the exact correct roofing sub-contractor in Marco Roofing. I had a roof leak that was slowly getting worse with all the rain we were having. I called Marco at Marco roofing and he was so kind and polite to me. He told me that with all the rain they have been swamped and unable to add any more jobs at that time. He was so apologetic and sincerely felt bad that he couldn't help me. But, sensing my desperation, he asked me what kind of roof I had and checked my address to get a better look and told me he would have his office schedule someone to come out and do an estimate. That someone was Chris who came out, did the estimate as well as inspected the rest of the roof and put us on the schedule for them to do the repair. They got me on the schedule in under 2 weeks because our area had a huge storm coming in and Marco wanted to make sure the roof was done before the storm. I can't say it enough how much I appreciated Marco and his crew doing this for me. My husband and I were in Hawaii handling a family emergency so they worked with me long distance while my daughter took care of things at the house and let me pay them later over the phone. Valarie in his office was wonderful as well. Marco's work is exemplary and he is very reasonable. It was a no show and no call. I reached out to get explanation and was told delay due his current project and was told would be arriving tomorrow at 7am..I reached out and explained 7am was unexceptional due ti time and noise restrictions laws.. I have the roof inspection done from Marco around December 2021, they want to charge $150 for the inspection. They told me that if I agree with the work done from them then they will refund the inspection cost. So we finally had them to fix the roof. We paid for the work done and asked to minus the inspection cost. This new management is very bad and not honest. He refused to return the inspection cost. Wow, what a change. New owner? New management? They previously did work for me and it was acceptable. This time, getting them to do anything was like pulling teeth. First, I was told- "as past customer, we will try and get you scheduled this week." Next phone call was " I think we are too busy to do your job" finally they arrived after 2 weeks and the estimator decided to put his ladder on my gutter and bent it and scratched off the paint.
