Our concrete tile roof was in its 37th year and all of the valleys were showing rust. The type of concrete tile has been discontinued for many years and it was a real pain to replace the broken tiles after a bad storm. The roof on the backside was pretty cooked. We also wanted to put solar panels on our roof. There was no way I was going to put solar panels on a 30 year roof that was in its 37th year. Time to replace. We always like supporting family run businesses because we feel they care more and their reputation depends on good results. Vincent Roofing has to be up there. Eighty-four years and 4 generations! For them to stay in business this long, they're doing things right. What made us finally decide to choose them to re-roof our house was how we were treated. Don was very knowledgeable. He taught us a lot of things and gave the right recommendations. Communication was excellent! Chelsea was so easy to speak to and she was always eager to help with all our questions. They were very friendly so we always felt at ease with no pressure whatsoever. But what matters most are results. We're very detail oriented so we looked at every aspect of the job. From placement of the shingles, how some of the fascias were replaced, the placement and spacing of vents, installation of new rain gutters, to the flashing of the chimney and everything else. All were nicely and neatly done. There were one or two minor things that we asked to be adjusted and they obliged without hesitation. On top of that, they cleaned up thoroughly every day. It can be really difficult to find a good roofer. For years, we tried different companies, with mixed results. We finally found a really good one, but unfortunately, he retired a few years ago. We discovered Vincent roofing shortly after that. We're pleased to find that they're even better than the roofer we had previously. Vincent Roofing is a family run business. We like working with small businesses like this one because they often place a high value on their family reputations and value their customer relationships. Don is a skilled roofer who places a high emphasis on customer service. Scheduling is coordinated by his sister, Desire. She has been great to work with. As our roof has aged, we have experienced many roofing issues. Desire has done a really good job of working us into the schedule, sometimes on short notice. During the last rainy season, she was able to schedule us in on a few occasions right after it rained, which can be really busy time for roofers. Don has a high level of technical skill. We had a leak in our ceiling which appeared to originate from the roof vent pipe from the bathroom. After some diagnostic work, Don advised that the root cause was likely from the pipe itself, not the seal at the roof. He was correct. By repairing the pipe, we avoided costly and unnecessary roof work. We have found Vincent Roofing to be very trustworthy. At larger roofing companies, they sometimes dispatch a sales person to quote the project and then send a separate crew to do the work. Sometimes, the crew might be good, and other times not. Don personally visits each site to diagnose the problem and then returns with a crew and personally does the work. Vincent Roofing is an amazing company to work with from start to finish. I originally reached out to them in November to replace the roof on my fixer-upper, which still had the original 40+ year-old roof. Don came down to the property to gauge the scope of the work and provide an estimate. After getting quotes from several roofing companies, we decided to go with Vincent Roofing because of their professionalism and fair pricing. Not only was Don amazing when he showed up for the initial consultation, answering all of our questions, but so was Desire when we called them with even more questions about the process and design, as they offered a good selection of choices for our project. Because we initially reached out to them in November, they were open and transparent about the timeframe, given their current workload and the weather, which had been incredibly rainy. Due to the time frame, weather conditions, and the condition of my roof, Don and his crew came out and tarped the worst areas to prevent any leaks from worsening before the work could begin. During this time, Desire would keep in touch via text, updating us on the timeframe. Once the work began, Don was incredibly communicative with us about the process. We initially wanted to replace all the plywood on the roof due to its age and condition; however, Don advised us to wait before making that decision until he could assess the extent of the damage once the shingles were removed. Luckily for us, the damage was not as extensive as we thought, and we greatly appreciate Don's honesty and transparency about the amount of work that needed to be done, which was less than we initially thought. Overall, we had a wonderful experience with Don and his crew. They arrived on time, kept the property clean, and finished ahead of schedule. They were priced fairly and competitively for the amount and quality of work they delivered. Vincent Roofing did a fantastic job on our 35 year old roof. They were on-time efficient and communicated throughout. Don was very good at keeping his crew with all the supplies they needed. Don also made sure everything was kept clean throughout the entire process. Desiree was great at communicating what was going on each day. We had to postpone removong the old roof one day because of potential rain. Which as it turns out was needed as it rained a little. The surprise bonus was we have 2 sheds that they reroofed also. So bad really based on the terrible experienced I had total chaos & inconveniences for over a week. The roof workers were impolite just showed up hrs earlier than expected, climbed the roof w/o letting us know & started tearing, smashing & banging our roofs while we are inside for morning routines, then ...it so started raining gravels, pebbles, sands & dusts all over the place bedrooms, bathrooms, closers, living room, garage, especially in the kitchen all over inside my house They have never ever inspected the kind of roof they'll be working on AND they don't care what is happening with the people inside the house AND never ever asked id we are OKAY. They just wanted to get the job done! So, where is professionalism on their side? On the following days I had to get their attention because roof nails are scattered in the ground I even stepped on it & they don't clean up where trashes from the roof all over. Maybe because I'm only renting this property the reason they did not care.. I don't think its correct not to even inspect the kind of ceilings the house has coz your workers might be falling inside the property on weak rotten spots they stepping on with tools & added weights they carry with them. I reached out to Don couple months ago regarding a re-roofing due to my insurance complication. I called..I kid you not, about 10 roofers/inspections and I was getting frustrated with: 1. They don't pick up the phone or get back to you. 2. They aren't taking any new clients because they are booked more than 3 months out. 3. (This one was funny) He was retiring. I needed a reliable contractor ASAP because my insurance was not working with me since the roof was not repaired after a recent purchase. I was finally able to get a response from Don and he was VERY helpful and walking me to the steps that he needed to take to complete the process. Don came out the next business day to do a roof inspection and gave us an estimate when the project can start. He kept me in the loop since rain was preventing the work from happening. The quote he gave me was a lot more reasonable than the other companies (who got back to me eventually). You can also choose the color of the roof! When re-roof started, it took about 2.5 days to complete and was very happy for the speedy re-roofing. *If your garage is not insulated, make sure to cover the areas you don't want debris on. This was partly due to the fact that our brother-in-laws' Heating and Sheetmetal business had worked with and for Vincent for years and vouched for their professionalism, quality and integrity. Their gutter crew came up with some ingenious designs to tie the downspouts into our dedicated drainage pipes, while still allowing us access to clean the pipes out if we need to. I researched a lot of roofing companies, and we really wanted Vincent Roofing because of the solid reviews on Yelp. We did have to wait a bit to get the work started due to scheduling, but WOW! THEY ARE WORTH THE WAIT! They were so communicative throughout the entire process as well, which we so appreciate. They did the demo work on a Sunday, and were done in a week, and that's including some additional work that needed to be done that was revealed when they took out our old roof. All these years, one of our bedrooms used to feel like a sauna during the late Spring and Summer, and a refrigerator in the Winter, and our garage was the same. They told us that, basically, there was a layer that was missing all this time. It sounds like the people who owned the house before us had cut corners. After the roof was completed, we experienced this strange heat wave last week, and we noticed that the bedroom and garage that used to have temperature issues now feel completely normal, and the whole house stayed cool throughout the day.
