These guys came through for me. Needed someone to clean the roof before solar installation. They came out, sent me pictures of the roof, and a quote which was competitive with the others I compared to. Alex came out originally for a gutter quote, but it turned out to be good timing because we also had an unexpected roof leak. He was quick in responding and was able to accommodate a visit within 24 hours of contacting him. During the crazy rainstorms this year, we discovered a massive leak along our chimney. Since everyone was having roof problems, we couldn't even find one person to put a tarp up over our chimney until we finally called Hernandez roofing. Alex came over and installed a roof until the other roofing company (who we unfortunately signed a contract with already) could come to repair the roof weeks later. Alex was a lifesaver. Fast forward to a few days ago when we decided to finally pull our old electrical pole off the roof. We called Alex to get an estimate and he showed up on time and said he could remove the old electrical pole and equipment, patch the roof, and patch the other holes left behind that day and for a very reasonable price. We had to leave the house, and he completed all the work and even helped us patch holes on the side of our house related to the electrical. He sent us photos of the work completed and was able to answer all our questions. I cannot think of a better roofer. His professionalism, helpfulness, and kindness was above and beyond. I used the request quote feature on Yelp and Alex was quick to respond. I needed my flat, tar roof cleaned and inspected. Alex came out same day to inspect the roof and provided me a quote. His price was very reasonable so we arranged for him to come back the next day to do the job. Alex found like 4 inches of leaves in certain areas caked on my 1800 sq ft roof as my house is surrounded by tall trees. Alex removed all the leaves, cleared my drains, and added guards that prevent leaves from clogging my drains in the future. Alex also inspected the roof to make sure it was in good shape and I do not have any surprise leaks this upcoming rainy season. I have no pics since I can't get on the roof, hence why I paid someone to do it lol. First off, Alex is the man! I had water intrusion from the heavy rains as of late that wetted out a portion of drywall in my garage. Directly above is an exterior roof that was thought to have a leak. After having 2 other companies come out, taking a quick look from street level (spending no more than a couple of minutes) and later quoting for what they thought the remedy was (which was exorbitant in price, overdone and unnecessary) . Then, Alex and Pedro showed up did the same visual inspection from the street then got up on the roof and immediately saw the issue not readily seen from the ground. I woke up on 1/9 and was wondering why there was water on the floor of my bathroom when I looked up and noticed a drip in the ceiling light fixture dripping down to the floor. It had been raining non-stop the day before and most of the last week. I groaned as I went into the attic and discovered that I had a roof leak which had been soaking the blown-insulation and apparently saturated it to the point that water was now coming into the light fixture. I did a lot of research on Yelp for roofers who had a 5 star rating. I noticed Alex had a lot of good reviews for work similar to what I needed. I asked for a quote from several bidders. Some bidders wanted an upfront inspection fee to come out. I chose bidders who were willing to inspect and give a quote for free. Alex came out with his tile guy and I was very impressed that his tile guy got up on the roof right away and started taking pics of what they had zeroed in on as the problem (being a lack of maintenance leading to debris preventing the water from draining properly around the chimney). Alex then followed me into my attic and properly inspected the wood and the compromised insulation. Alex was the only bidder willing to help me replace the compromised insulation and replace with new R-30 rigid insulation (easier to use than the blown-insulation). Alex and Pablo replaced the compromised tar paper on the roof, replaced and recut the tiles around the roof, cleaning and removing all of the debris and finished all of the work in one morning. I am very happy with the results and was able to test the results the next day when we got more rain. No leaks and Alex took plenty of pictures to show me the work in progress and the final completion pics. I will definitely be using Alex for my annual roof maintenance going forward. I almost forgot, Alex was also the only bidder who actually replaced my existing roof vent stacks with complete stainless steel vent stacks. No more maintenance required on these stacks. Typical roof vent stacks have a sleeve that needs to be sealed and end up cracking over time because of the direct sun. It was well worth the money to replace with 3 stainless steel roof vents. Alex won my award based on value, expanded scope of work, warranty and honest work ethic. I HIGHLY recommend Hernandez Roofing based on my experience! read more
