We used Heirloom Roofing services for a whole roof and gutter replacement. Working with German on the initial estimate was a good experience and there were no hard selling tactics. They presented a good value. Working with German and his team was great. His David Lara served as the job captain and he was really great to work with. David was kind and did a good job of resolving all open issues. They also did a pretty good job cleaning up on a daily basis and doing a final cleaning sweep as well. I would work with them again! read more

German and his crew just finished our roof replacement on our 100+ year old Craftsman and I couldn't be happier. His price was great to begin with, and what stood out during the estimate was how thorough he was. He actually got on the roof to inspect and measure everything. No pressure, just taking his time to catch details that other roofers who quoted completely missed. After the estimate he dropped off shingle samples so we had time to pick the right color for our house. No pressure at all, he gave us plenty of time and answered all our questions. Texting him throughout the project made everything easy. Here's what really impressed me about his honesty. We had originally planned to replace all the sheathing since the previous owner didn't do much maintenance. German included it in our quote. But when his crew removed the old roof and saw the sheathing was actually in great condition, he recommended we not replace it even though it was already priced into our invoice. That saved us a good amount of money and says a lot about his integrity. The crew was fast and professional. They cleaned up thoroughly every day. Our yard looked better each evening than when they started. Multiple neighbors commented on how quickly they worked and how clean everything was. German handled the permits, shared proof of insurance upfront, and was just easy to work with. He knew I needed photos for my insurance company and gave me a great drone video afterwards showing all angles of the new roof. Would definitely recommend!! read more

Repaired my roof (2 story building). German was professional, punctual and quality of work was good. He also explained the various options for ceiling tiles I can use along with their tradeoffs. German is very responsive and the price is really reasonable. They did a very good job on our house and highly recommended this company.

This review is long overdue--we had our roof replaced last year on our 100-year-old Spanish Revival home, and I still think about how seamless the experience was. Heirloom Roofing did an outstanding job from start to finish. The work was incredibly thorough and clearly done with great care. Our home has unique architectural features, German and his team paid close attention to every detail to ensure the final result stayed true to its historic character. I was fully satisfied with the quality of the roof replacement. What stood out even more was the professionalism of the crew. They kept the entire property clean throughout the project, which I really appreciated. Not once did we have to deal with leftover debris or dust. The job was completed on time with no delays or surprises. If you're looking for a roofing company that combines craftsmanship, professionalism, and respect for your home, I can't recommend Heirloom Roofing enough. read more

German came out to provide a free quote for a gutter system, as well as a roof repair for a leak that has been an issue since we purchased our new home. German was able to accomidate and have his team come out in order to fix the issue before the upcoming rainy weather hit. We were hoping to repair the issue with the roof before more rain hit, as we were getting multiple quotes that said we needed anywhere from a simple patch of the roof, to a whole house French Drain which was upwards of $25k (!). Rather than jumping to the most expensive option to fix the issue, we knew we had faulty flashing which caused a hole/rot in our roof which allowed water to enter. German agreed, and while he was transparent and said that fixing the roof may not be the definitive fix, it was neccisary regardless, and we could do process of elimnation before jumping into the most expensive option. His team was punctual, and did great work, and even documented before and after with pics. German stopped by a couple times to check-in, which I appreciated, and the work turned out really good. Pricing was reasonable. I'd def hire Heirloom Roofing for my future needs in the future! read more

I replaced some plumbing pipes connected to the roof and needed the roof to be patched afterwards. German gave me a great price, and great work. He was efficient on time and easy to do business with. I would recommend him to anyone. read more

I've known for a while we needed to replace our roof, but have been terrified about the price tag. We had German and his crew come out an do an estimate on a full roof replacement. His estimate was significantly lower than the other company we had come out. He was also able to start the work 2 weeks after he did our estimate. Our roof looks great, the price was very reasonable and German personally responded and addressed any concerns and questions we had. If you need a roof repair or replacement, I highly recommend them! read more

I needed part of my roof replaced. German came out and inspected the roof, gave me a reasonable quote. German got the permit from the city and his crew came over and removed the part to be replaced. They were very respectful of my property and cleaned up each day. In addition to replacing the roof they also replaced shingles that were improperly installed by a previous roofer. The work was done in good time. Inspector passed it. Now I can rest easy at night not worrying about leaks! These are the guys to call if you need repairs or replacement done with expertise. read more

German's roofing quote was very reasonable and actually better than the other quotes we had collected. We texted him our questions, and he always texted us back quickly. A+ very responsive and professional! He did a great job with the composite asphalt shingle, modified bitumen, and gutter installation. He also stood the permit inspection and passed smoothly. More importantly, he worked closely with us on all the follow up items and made sure we were fully satisfied. We are very pleased with our roof and it is everything that we wanted. We already referred German to our neighbor as well and will continue to refer him to anyone in the Bay Area looking for roofing services! Thank you SO much German! read more

Great Guys, I love doing business with local small businesses! German is a stand-up guy who has been in the San Leandro community since his youth. He's responsive, very patient, and always professional. His prices are fair, and the quality of work and customer service is 5 stars all the way. His team reroofed my home and garage. The finished product is beautiful and gives my property a new look. We can't be happier! Thank you, German! read more

German returned our call promptly to schedule an estimate appointment and provided an estimate within a couple of days for our house in Hayward. Unlike others who wanted to replace entire roof for a couple of leaks, his repair estimate was a genuine one. He scheduled the work within two weeks, but called and completed it earlier. His team did an excellent job and made sure that they didn't leave any debris behind as well. read more

German and his team were easy to work with. They were efficient, reliable, and finished a tricky gutter install, as they had to navigate around solar panels. German was responsive to our questions, providing a quote ahead of time so that we could discuss the scope of the work. During his roof inspection during the estimate period, he noticed a lack of sealant in a couple of areas and addressed these problems during the installation of the gutters. The gutters were cut precisely for our house, and the city inspector came out today (for a different reason) but commented on the excellent look and finish of our gutters. German is great to work with and I highly recommend him and his company. read more

Heirloom Roofing Services - New gutters - Roofing Near Me

It was raining and we developed a leak in our roof. We called a few roofers in our area but either they did not return our call or just never showed up. It was Winter and they were all busy. Then we called Heirloom Roofing Service and received an immediate call back from the owner by the name of German. We scheduled an appointment and he arrived as scheduled. Not only did his skilled crew repair our roof for the Winter, but he also repaired our gutters and will be returning in the Spring to replace our entire roof. German is a fine young man with a long history of roofing. When it comes to roofing trust is very important as we are not able to go up on the roof to inspect. German is a man we can trust, the rest is just details. German and his crew do great work for a fair price as such he has earned his 5 star review. read more

I hired Heirloom Roofing to replace the roof on my house. The roof is steep and had three existing layers, so the job wasn't easy. German was quick to come by and provide an estimate when I reached out through Yelp. Their price was reasonable and included replacing all the decking, which other bids did not. I also asked them to replace the gutters. German was very easy to work with, prompt in responding to my questions, and even helped me remove an old TV antenna and cut a hole for an exhaust fan at no extra charge. They also did a great job cleaning up any debris after the work was done, which I really appreciated. Overall, I'm happy with how the roof turned out and would recommend Heirloom Roofing to anyone who needs a new roof. read more

Wow! this was an amazing company to work with! I am out of state and helped my son in Oakland find a roofer on short notice. He was deployed out of town for work and learned that his insurance company was cancelling his insurance because they thought his roof was too old. I spoke with about 7 different companies and was able to get quotes from most of them. German Lara was more than competitive with his very detailed bid. Oher companies said "quote covers up to 15% of OSB, with extra being replaced at X dollars per foot and X dollars per hour labor." German's quote stated that the roof had no OSB and installing it was part of the bid. There were no surprise charges. The quote included gutters, which none of the others included. German was more than patient with me. He responded to my calls quickly, often answering the phone when I called. He was very patient with me as we changed choice of shingles at the last minute, being more than happy to accommodate us. October is the busiest time of the year for roofers. He started the job quickly and was done on time. The scene was cleaned and left in great shape. The roof and gutters look great. I cannot say enough good things about this experience. I highly recommend this family owned and operated business to anyone who is in need of a new roof! I was skeptical at first because of all the 5 star ratings, nobody has all 5 stars! These people absolutely deserve them all! I would give them 10 stars if I could!!! read more

Replacing my roof was by far the biggest and most expensive investment I've made to my home. German came out quickly to provide a free quote, and his bid was the least expensive of three top-ranked roofers. He communicated well and frequently, and was able to get my roof installed just before the rains last year! His crew worked really hard and I'm very happy with the outcome! read more

Don't waste your time. I called. A guy answered. He was driving. Asked me to text my info. Next day, he replied and said he could come by "today". I gave him my availability. He confirmed an afternoon time. My new boss was visiting me from the east coast. I can't cancel on him when he's come all this way, taking time away from his own family. But, the roof needed to be taken care of, so I spent a half day with the boss instead and then drove all the way home for the Heirloom guy, missing an important group meeting. I waited and waited for Heirloom....mind you, away from my office in the back of my house where I could be working because I didn't want to miss the Heirloom guy. I finally texted at the 30 min mark. An hour after our scheduled time, I got a response. He was "stuck in SF traffic". (You mean to tell me that as a business that travels around, you don't have GPS on your phone like the rest of the world that could tell you about the traffic? And you didn't know, as you were on you're way, that you were too far to make the scheduled time? You're telling me you've been sitting in traffic for an hour and half before communicating to me? Please. He asked if we could reschedule. I said yes and took the time (like a fool) to give him my openings for the rest of the week. No response. The blatant disrespectful for others and their time is just disgusting. He could've just been upfront...your job is too small, I have bigger deals to work on, Sorry but I've got more business than I can handle, whatever.... and not strung me along. This screams "I lack integrity" and this business does not deserve your money. read more

German was prompt, professional, paid attention to detail. I got 2 other estimates/opinions to clean and repair gutters. He was the only person to actually climb a ladder to look at problem areas closely before giving an estimate. He arrived soon after I requested his service- both for estimating and to do the work. His pricing was reasonable and he came back to address issues that remained after a heavy rain. Great service. Highly recommended. read more

German was great in quickly responding to my downspout issue. Many other business did not want to take the smaller job. German was a pleasure to work with and does great work! We had just purchased a new house and needed someone to come do an inspection on it and get some quotes on the work that needed to be done. He came out within a week, did the inspection, and then completed the work the next day! He was very thorough with the inspection and provided quotes on repairs as well as a quote on a full roof inspection, thinking about stuff that others did not quote us on. This included the fact that we should change the slope of our roof slightly so water more easily rolled off of it. I will be working with German and Heirloom Roofing Services in the future when we are ready to get a new roof. read more

We needed an estimate for a new roof right away and German and his company responded within an hour and were able to schedule a visit to do a visual inspection on our roof within 2 days. When we hired him, he clearly explained our options for the roof materials and color, and was able to complete everything within 4 days. This included removing and hauling away the old roof and installing the new roof with new gutters and downspouts. In addition, he was kind enough to reseal the vents from our bathrooms, After the job, German made several follow up calls to make sure we were satisfied with the work he and his team had done. read more

German was so helpful when we had a leak in our sunroom. He promptly came by for a free estimate, diagnosed the problem, and gave a reasonable quote to fix the issue. While he was on site he also took a look at our aging gutters and addressed a few issues (sagging gutters, old seams, sealed flashings etc). Several other companies would only upsell me with a new sunroof and gutter system but German was happy to provide a plan to extend the life of our current sunroom roof and gutters. His team was quick, efficient, and tidy. I wouldn't hesitate to call them again for any other roof issues. read more

Wished I'd known about Heirloom roofing last year and could have saved myself a lot of money and headaches. We had a somewhat complicated gutter problem and after contacting several gutter and roofing companies, I quickly knew German, from Heirloom roofing, would be my guy. Knowledgeable, good listener and interested in how to solve the issue at hand. He did an excellent job solving the problem, which 4 other roofing companies could not. I certainly will call him again for any future roof and gutter issues. Fair pricing, easy to talk to, professional and responsive. Definitely a 5 star experience all around. Thank you German, for taking such great care of our "flooding" gutter. read more

Heirloom Roofing is incredible! Like many, our homeowner's insurance sent a letter giving us 90 days to come into compliance with vaguely worded parameters. We jumped into action after wasting a week trying to get someone at the insurance company to better define their instructions. They had drone footage showing around 12 tiles that had worked loose after 22 years. We contacted 5 roofing companies, weeded out the guts who were spinning myths about what needed to be done (ice dams on an East Bay home? Seriously?) and got it down to two. We have a large luxury home and the other contractor in our Final Cut had done our neighbor's home a couple years ago. They seemed super professional, but distant and cool when it came to providing answers to questions. Ultimately, we went with our gut, German the owner of Heirloom was helpful, prompt in his answers and offered to fit us into a compressed schedule due to the insurance thing. The crew showed up at 8 am the first morning and every morning, then went straight to work, and worked till noon or so. They would then take a 1 hour break--some of them would fall asleep on our back lawn--then get straight back to work again till 5 or later. Every night, they cleaned up their tools and work space on the ground floor and were careful not to leave it a mess. Our roof took a heavy 4 day work week, plus a small crew that came back and finished up detailing the job on Saturday morning. We can't say enough about their professionalism. We asked them to clear patio furniture, large plants and small trees in planters on our decks and they did so with no complaint and put it all back together at the end. The owner even came back the next day and flew his (hi Rez) drone and captured a short video and a few freeze frames from an aerial view at no extra charge. These proved critical for the insurance company. Speaking of money, they weren't the absolute lowest bid, but their price was super reasonable and there were no phony upcharges that some companies do; low ball the initial bid, then once you get into the details, there are 15 annoying "change orders" that result in an expensive job. A completely enjoyable experience. The roof turned out great, it looks so much nicer than our much more expensive original roof and we got so motivated, we're about to get our house painted in the next week. Best of all, the insurance company just let us know that we passed and they are renewing us. Great company, great people! Highly recommended. read more

We had just bought our new home and unexpectedly had a roof leak in our garage. I called German and asked if he could come give us a quote. He came that same day and fixed it the very next day.
