Day one, removed whole roof, had a dumpster to haul away the debris. Assessed what was under & found a section with dry rot. Covered roof with a big tarp . Next day, repaired dry rot, replaced all plywood on roof , day three installed all new vents atop roof & replaced all gutters & downspouts installed tarpaper & new roof shingles!! All in all 2-1/2 days Astro Roofing completed task & cleaned up all around the worksite I didn't need to ask for any other bids bc I saw them @ work in another city at another time & was impressed with their performance & when Solomon gave me their pricing I agreed as they were quite reasonable! My dad, who the appt was for, waited from 930am-1130am today 6/20 and no one showed up or called regarding the 10am appt I made. I would say for anyone potentially working with this company should NOT schedule through their calendar/website option because it clearly didn't happen as no one appeared. Maybe scheduling via phone or Yelp message might have a better outcome. We will not be moving forward with this company.

Pros - The project manager, Billy, has strong supplier connections and was able to get DaVinci tiles at a good price and pass the savings on to us. He also secured competitive pricing for copper gutter guards. - He is technically savvy and very knowledgeable about all aspects of roofing. You feel like you are working with a true industry veteran. - He speaks excellent English and communicates clearly. - When we pointed out areas that needed improvement, he was accommodating and made corrections without pushback. - The estimate was reasonable for this type of project and closely matched typical pricing for similar work in the San Francisco Bay Area. A couple of the other companies we contacted were noticeably higher. - The crew was highly skilled and worked very efficiently. They nearly completed the entire roof in about five days. - The finished roof looks beautiful and the craftsmanship is excellent. - We were given some extra spare roof tiles for future repairs so we won't have to worry about matching issues. Cons - The project started later than expected. We were initially told November or December, but work did not begin until late January. We received only one day of notice before the crew arrived. - Not all potential extra costs were clearly quantified in advance. The contract noted possible added charges for plywood replacement, but we were not shown photos or told about dry rot until the final walkthrough, along with a 1,500 dollar extra charge. The copper gutter guard cost was also not disclosed until then. - The tile quantity was underestimated. The crew ran out of tiles, causing a delay while more were shipped from Kansas. We had to purchase an additional 400 square feet of tiles, increasing the total cost by about 3,500 dollars and extending the timeline. - At the walkthrough, there was no itemized invoice for the additional charges totaling about 10,000 dollars. We were told an itemized statement could be emailed later. It felt unusual to be asked to pay based only on verbal totals. - After the final walkthrough and payment, we were later told we still owed another 1,000 dollars due to a misquote on the extra tile cost. That change after payment did not feel very professional. Overall, although some parts of the process could have been handled better, we are very happy with the quality of the finished roof. We would still choose Moctezuma Roofing again and would recommend them based on the workmanship and final result.

This is a long review, sorry. To cut to the chase, I am very happy with NC Roofing and the job they…read moredid and recommend them. Now on to the review. My roof was new over 40 years ago when I bought my house from my grandparents. To put it mildly, it was time for a new roof. I lost a few pieces of shingle last winter but thankfully I had no leaks. My grandfather got his moneys worth. I interviewed four roofing contractors, and it came down to NC Roofing and one other. Ido Haviv came out and walked me through what NC Roofing offered and what was available. In addition to having the shingles replaced, my house also needed some facia board replaced, some of the tongue and groove eave boards also had water damage and new gutters were badly needed. Ido said they could do all that and also pointed out that all of the facias should be trimmed back to help prevent future water damage. NC Roofing could also offer the new gutters in any color I needed to match the trim on my house. Nice. No painting. Ido also suggested that I put in a roof ridge vent. This is a vent that runs along the ridge peak and helps keep the attic cool by convection currents. I looked it up online and figured I would try it since my house gets really hot in the summer. I found that Ido and NC Roofing had worked with the company that remodeled my bathroom two years ago. I made a quick call to the project manager for the bathroom, and she said that they used NC Roofing on many of their projects and had high praise for them. That sealed the deal for using NC Roofing. The project went pretty fast. The first day they had stripped the old roof and repaired the couple of areas of sub roof that needed replacing. The GAF Weatherwatch underlayment was also started the first day. The next day the GAF Tiger Paw roof deck went on and shingles started appearing. Third day saw the rest of the shingles and the ridge vent appear. All of the new vents and metal valleys were installed and painted to match the color of the shingles to help tie everything together color wise. New facia was installed and painted. I supplied the paint for them before the project started. They also painted all of the tongue and groove eave boards as well. I went with the GAF Timberline HDZ RS shingles. They have a warranty that will outlive me. House looks great. They were essentially finished with the whole project in four days. The only hangup was getting the city inspector out to sign off on it. It passed just fine. The inspector said he was seeing more ridge vents being installed and thought it was a pretty good idea. Cleanup was good. They protected my koi pond during demo. I have only found 4 nails that they missed. Not bad considering the nails were in the rock in the backyard. Two complaints. Both constructive criticisms. First, needed better communication from the crew as to arrival times in the morning. and second, when they do the ridge vent, they have to cut a 1 1/2-inch-wide slot on either side of the ridge. This is not a problem for the ridge over the attic but for the garage it can get a bit messy. I was not informed when they would cut the ridge vent for the garage so I was unable to throw a tarp over some of my electronic equipment I have out there. No damage done but it would have been nice to be able to cover it. All in all, I am very happy with NC Roofing, their crew and the job they did. He had shingle samples for me to keep and took some great pictures of the roof. The quote came in quickly and had great detail specifying the exact materials they were planning on using. As I talked to other roofers and did some research I found that the quoted materials were all premium quality and part of a great 25 year warranty. The quote price came in a little higher than the lowest and much lower than the highest bid. It was the quality of materials and personal attention that won the job. Ori kept me informed of all progress and install dates, working to fit my schedule. He even added a quote to remove and reinstall my solar panels that was about half what 2 other solar installers quoted. The roofing crew was great and made quick work of my roof. It was a big messy job and they did a good job keeping things safe and cleaning up the area. The new roof looks great. The solar crew were also pros. When they removed the panels and conduit they noticed that the grounding wire was not up to code so corrected this when they reinstalled everything.
