I would strongly recommend Roof Express for re-roofing in San Francisco. The quote/cost was very low compared to other companies, and yet the quality of the job was excellent. The quote was so reasonable that despite the great first interaction, I was wondering how they could offer it, but other reviewers are right - this is an efficient and high value team that doesn't cut corners. The crew was professional, clean, and timely. The work was thoughtful and careful: a flatter area was sloped up to avoid issues. Also, I would recommend Roof Express for re-roofing even if installing solar panels - they were excellent about coordinating with the solar company to put in mounts while the old roof was off before the new roof went on. I will be recommending them to my neighbors and colleagues. read more

Very trustworthy. I booked a consultation for a soft patch on a roof deck and after inspection they assured me it wasn't damaged, explained the cause, and suggested it wasn't worth repairing for no reason. If I ever have another roofing issue I'll reach back out because I'd feel confident they weren't going to overcharge or pressure me into anything unnecessary. read more

Pride in the work - and it shows Habibi from ROOF Express came out and didn't just glance at the roof - he inspected it like it mattered. Walked me through what needed to happen, no vagueness. The crew was professional, trained, and knew their work. Clean and efficient from start to finish. Abu runs the company with real integrity. The work reflects the people behind it. You can see it in the finish. That's the kind of business you stick with - you can tell they actually take pride in what they do, and that matters. read more

We called Roof Express after our skylight started leaking during the recent rains, and we had an excellent experience from start to finish! They were incredibly responsive and dispatched an inspector very quickly. The inspector was knowledgeable, professional, and took the time to walk us through the issue in detail. They recommended replacing the skylight, which initially felt a little daunting, but they thoroughly explained the reasoning, the process, the costs, and the expected timeline. Maybe even more importantly, they stuck to the cost and timeline. They were also incredibly flexible throughout the process, and worked around our schedule. They worked directly with their manufacturer to custom-build a new skylight that matched the specific dimensions and fixtures of our roof. The entire process only took a matter of weeks, and the installation went smoothly. We're extremely happy with Roof Express and would highly recommend them to anyone dealing with roofing or skylight issues! read more

Big fan of Roof Express! Had a great experience working with Abu and Habibi. Their crew was hardworking, efficient, and incredibly quick. Most importantly, they do really good work. Everyone was professional, accommodating, and easy to work with. And the best part? Their pricing is extremely reasonable for San Francisco, especially for the quality of work. Great service, great value, and a great team. The total package. Highly recommend! read more

We were referred to "Roof Express" by our neighbor who gave us the breakdown of the quote per task basis. We got in touch with the vendor in no time and the salesperson came home to talk about the different aspects, including redoing the insulation. The workers were very dedicated. They would show up promptly slightly before 8am, take exactly one hour lunch break and resume their work. And when they left on the last day , they put back all the backyard furniture in place, cleaned up the nails from the neighboring homes and did a super good job on the roof! read more

Recently hired Express Roofing to replace the roof a commercial building as well as replace four large skylights. I was pleased with their work. From start to finish, their team was professional, patient, and attentive. From the first time I met with Nav until the finish, he took the time to listen carefully to my concerns and addressed each one thoroughly. Communication throughout the project was excellent, kept me informed at every stage. They also had a large crew on site, which allowed the job to move efficiently. I'm happy with their services and would recommend Express Roofing for roofing projects. read more

Abdul was very helpful with a roofing question I had. Knowledgeable, trustworthy, and someone you would trust to do a big job!

I bought my house a few years ago and don't have detailed knowledge of the age and condition of its roof, so I contacted a few roofing companies about an inspection. Roof Express had great reviews and was quick to respond. Unfortunately, that was the end of their good communication. Friday afternoon: Abdul quoted me an appointment window of 3-6pm. At 6pm, when I hadn't heard anything, I texted him, and he said someone on the team had an emergency and he needed to reschedule for Monday. I wish he had let me know proactively, but I understand, given the circumstances. He said he could accommodate my schedule on Monday and would come between 3-4pm. Monday afternoon: 4pm came and went and I didn't hear from Roof Express. At that point, I decided to give up -- but at 5pm, I got a call from a different employee. He didn't apologize for missing the appointment, but instead told me he'd arrive between 6:30 and 7. Monday evening: 7pm came and went, and no one showed up. Overall, a pretty frustrating waste of my time (and theirs). read more

Unfortunately our experience was not great but worked out in the end. The project manager, Habibi was very friendly and responsive to all our issues. Unfortunately, there were many of them. They delayed our project twice without explanation. The labor team quit mid project. They knocked on our door and said they were quitting bc Express Roofing was not paying them. Then called the police to our home claiming they were unpaid. Despite saying they wouldn't, both teams walked and ran on our neighbors roofs which affected our relationship with them. They left a GIANT mess in our front and back yard. Damaged some of the plants in our garden by throwing debris down. They broke our sky light (they did replace it). Then our roof leaked after the first rain less than a week after completion. They left tar stains on our freshly painted white home. We had to call several times for them to fix issues that seemed obvious and should not have required us constantly calling as they came up. I'm grateful that Habibi fixed the above issues but like I said, there were many. I'm hoping there are no more leaks as our rainy season starts. I will update. read more

Had a great experience from start to finish with Habibi, our roof replacement project's manager. Habibi was very communicative and transparent with the scope of the project, pricing, and timeline. The team showed up on time to start the project, and got our entire roof removed and replaced in the one day, they came the second day to confirm everything is in place and did some finishing touch ups. Habibi also saw through to make sure the city inspector did a final approval. Roof Express made my first home project easy and worry-free. read more

We used Roof Express to replace the 25-year-old roof on our Belmont home. They removed the old roof and installed the new one (Certainteed Solaris Pro shingles) in a single day. The job was done beautifully, and they cleaned up thoroughly afterward. We had some rot in the wood on a section of the eaves, and they did a great job replacing the boards and matching the paint with the surrounding boards. They were courteous, professional, and very responsive to all our questions and preferences throughout. The project manager, Nav, and the owner, Abu, were a pleasure to work with. Their quoted price was excellent compared with the four other companies we interviewed, and they offered higher-quality materials. Really, it was an easy choice - the Roof Express quote was head-and-shoulders better than the competition's. And they delivered on all fronts. We are very happy with our experience with Roof-Express, and wholeheartedly recommend them for your roof projects. read more

Excellent work. They came on schedule, worked quickly, coordinated with my Solar company and gave me accurate pictures for proof of work. They were very honest and did not try to add on extras. They even cleaned up as promised. I worked with Habbib and Abdul. All the workers were very respectful of me and my home. They were reasonably priced. When they first came out they provided pictures and even said I could wait another year or so. Other companies came out, and one suspect company even showed me pictures that were not my roof, trying to convince me that I needed the work immediately. Always ask for pictures. I highly recommend. read more

These guys did a great job on my full roof replacement! I would recommend them to anyone. Great people, great work!

Highly recommend Roof Express We had an excellent experience working with Roof Express, and I can't recommend them highly enough. From start to finish, the process was smooth, transparent, and extremely well managed. A special call-out to Nav, who was outstanding throughout the entire project. His professionalism, proactive communication, and attention to detail truly set Roof Express apart. Nav took the time to walk us through options, ensured we received the best possible pricing without compromising on quality, and was always available to answer questions. What really impressed us was Nav's hands-on involvement. He personally came out multiple times--to help ensure permits were secured on time, to share and explain material samples, and to check in while the actual roofing work was underway. After the job was completed, he returned again to make sure the cleanup was done thoroughly and personally followed through on the final inspection to ensure everything met code and our expectations. The quality of the work was excellent, timelines were met, and there were no surprises. It's rare to find a contractor who combines strong execution with such a high level of ownership and care. If you're looking for a roofing company you can truly trust, Roof Express--and Nav in particular--are an outstanding choice. read more

I had a small job replacing a series of rusted out gutters. I compared Roof Express with many other roofing companies and their proposal was the most professional and thorough, including satellite photos and square footage and locations of all vents, etc.. Also, the owner and project manager were very knowledgeable and easy to reach. I am still debating on the top 3 companies to go with since this company was about 15% more expensive than the other quotes, but if you can afford $6K more from a $40K investment, it probably is very well worth it for such a stellar company. I just can't do it at this time with having to pay off some of my Uncle's debtors after he passed, so watching every $1K. I also didn't have the time to do a lot of negotiating, so maybe they would have come down? He said they would consider discounts for a group roofing since my neighbors need to re-roof too.. but I don't have the time now, so will have to book it asap. read more

From our initial contact to when the crew wrapped up, the Roof Express team provided excellent service. They are very professional, diligent, and WELL priced. Our house was newly renovated when we bought it in 2019 but we discovered by 2024 that the roof was very NOT new and that the contractors that renovated our house simply slapped on new shingles on a very old roof. After heavy rains we discovered a small leak in our attic. We worked with Habibi to get an honest assessment. We got assessments from two other roofing companies and Roof Express was the one we wanted to move forward with because we felt we would be in capable hands. Everything was clearly explained to us so we felt reassured at all times about the process and confident in their ability to do the job well, considering it was a major investment. We were impressed by many things like how hard working the crew was, the fact that they completed the job in 3 solid days, and that they arrived on the job on time every day. But we were most impressed with how CLEAN the crew left our premises each day AND they wanted to make sure any debris that fell into our neighbors yards were cleaned up and taken care of. My husband said he thinks they left the yard cleaner than it originally was when they arrived. LOL And to wrap things up, Abu the owner made sure to check in with us, he made sure everything looked good (he was up on the roof with the crew too!) and really cared about the job being done well. We were very angry about the whole roof situation (how did such an old roof pass the city inspection to begin with in 2019?) but Roof Express made a difficult situation into a great experience and we are grateful for them and their amazing customer service. We highly recommend them! read more

Had an excellent experience with Roof Express. It was one of the most affordable quotes among the five or so we received, and Habibi took the time to explain everything very clearly and was extremely attentive and responsive. Highly recommend this business. Habibi also helped us navigate installing two skylights when they did our roof replacement and managed the contract for the interior drywall work. read more

We recently hired Roof Express for our full roof replacement of our existing tar and gravel roof, and we're very happy with the results! From the initial consultation, Nav was on time, respectful, knowledgeable, and strong communicator. Nav provided a clear and fair estimate, and answered our questions. The crew was courteous and kept the worksite clean without damaging our existing landscape (which can be a challenge with all the old gravel from the existing roof. The 3 layer modified bitumen looks great. While we had initially quoted to also replace the 6 downspouts, we went with Nav's recommendation to unclog and keep the existing downspouts to maintain the asthetics as he deemed that they provide adequate drainage. Will update how things hold up after a couple rainy seasons. read more

Discovered a leak after a recent storm and needed a roofing specialist to evaluate my roof ASAP. Used Yelp to identify roofing companies and 5 companies responded. Out of all of them, Roof Express was available the same day and was able to come out and inspect my roof. The company is owned by Abosufian Merzayee and I think he previously did alot of roof insulations / attic clean ups. Then he repivoted his company to do roofing and also has a construction license in case add'l work is needed for the home. Nav was patient and explained the cause of my leaks immediately. One of his guys also went into my attic crawlspace and shared a few pictures to indicate where the leak was coming from and confirming it was the area that Nav idnetified on the roof. Nav was thorough and was able to provide me a quote by the end of the day. I wasn't able to check how they compared to other companies but after checking with a few friends who needed minor roof repairs, it seemed like it was about average. He also provided me a full roof repair estimate, which was middle of the pack compared to all the other estimates I received. All in all, I was very happy with their service. I was indexed more for speed and quality rather than price, so given my requirements, they got the job done and was very helpful in providing me explanations along the way. Thank you Nav and team! read more

After having five different companies come out to inspect our roof, Habibi from Roof Express was the very first business to submit a proposal and quote - he emailed it over the very same day. Habibi has also always been extremely responsive and quick to answer any questions. His quote was competitive, and after we got off the phone to schedule the actual work. They knocked out everything within two days. I was stunned at how quickly they were able to get it done. And he sent me a ton of pictures before and after the process. Roof Express did a very good job on my home so I wanted them for a second job on an apartment building. They are very efficient and really know their business. They got all the permits and did a very good job. The job turned out to be more extensive due to the very poor condition of the structure under the old roof material but they adapted and charged me a fair price for the additional work. They documented their work with photos that I could pass to my insurance company and met with me personally on the roof for an initial estimate. They completed the job in a very reasonable time and the finished job looks great. I hope I don't need another roof done for a long time because it's an expensive thing no matter who you use. I honestly would hire Roof Express again a third time. They made the process as painless as possible for me, charged a fair price and did a quality job in a very reasonable amount of time. read more

I had a great experience with Roof Express which speaks positively to their customer service in general. Another roofing company had loosened a skylight on my roof by mistake while fixing a different skylight. I could tell it was drafty in the room with the skylight, but I didn't have a ladder or the expertise to know if something serious was wrong or not. Habibi came and told me he was happy to help me figure it out, no matter whether it was a small or big issue. He went on my roof with me and figured out that there was a control on the skylight that could be tightened, and went up on his ladder from inside the house to tighten it, solving the issue. I offered to pay to make the visit worth his time, but he refused, saying that if I was happy, he was happy. I will definitely be reaching out to Roof Express in the future if I have roof related needs! read more

We had a great experience with Roof Express! They were prompt, polite, quick and easy to work with. I had reached out to a number of roofing vendors, had onsite visits from 3, and ended up selecting Roof Express on the basis of 1) cost; 2) willingness to meet our unique schedule and timeline, and 3) quality of materials and assurances provided. We wanted to install solar panels at the same time as getting our roof redone, and the Roof Express team was willing to coordinate directly with our solar panels vendor, ensure that the staged the work appropriately (i.e., tear down followed by installation of stanchions for the panels, then torchdown after to ensure no penetration of the waterproof membrane). We worked closely with Habibi, who was great and wonderful to work with. We recommend them! read more

Habib and his crew were very thorough and very fast. Job site was left clean and they made sure to be courteous of my neighbors and not block their driveways. (my absolute pet peeve!!!) they took care of the permit processing, and all I had to do was notify the tenants and sit back and have my peace of mind that the job was done and at a fair price. He's worked on my roof, my neighbor's roof and two other clients I've provided my real estate services to. I would happily recommend him again! read more

I worked with Habibi to get my flat roof replaced due to persistent leaking with all of SF's recent atmospheric rivers. Habibi walked through my house and after some discussion we agreed that a new roof would make the most sense. Roof Express had the most competitive pricing compared to a few other places we researched. The whole roof replacement took one day!! Better yet, Habibi made it a point to finish before more rain that was forecasted. The communication from his team and cleanup could have been a bit better (I found some nails and roofing material in my yard and driveway) but overall Habibi was great to work with. There was also a small issue after the roof was replaced that Habibi addressed in a timely manner. He really stands by his word and his product/service.
