I hired this company for work on my property and had a mixed experience. The work itself was completed well, but then I had issues. During the job, I paid an additional $200 in cash requested by the technician on site when he said some additional scope wasn't included in the $1,200 project. Later, the company stated they had no record of that payment and billed me for the full amount. I informed them of the payment and disputed the balance. I asked for documentation and clarification on their accounting, but that was never provided. Communication became focused on collection and lien warnings rather than investigating the payment issue. I was pretty shocked how aggressive they were in their phone calls and emails. I recommend that customers keep detailed records and receipts for any work done with this company. read more

I'm surprised to read some of the other reviews here on Yelp. Our HOA has had a positive, long-standing relationship with Sunshine Gutters. Their crew was excellent when they installed our gutters a few years ago. We later hired them for gutter cleaning and eventually decided to install gutter guards. This last project was challenging due to the number of leaves falling from a neighbor's tree. Nir, the owner, instructed his crew to try an alternative installation method and diligently checked to ensure the guards were working effectively. Our most recent experience with Sunshine Gutters for cleaning up debris from a tree trimming also went very well. The crew also promptly addressed a small issue with debris in one area. read more

I needed to have my gutters cleaned and repaired. I also decided to get gutter guards. The reason I felt some urgency in getting this done was because there was a leak in the gutters near my front door, causing rain to cascade down on the front porch. The original estimate and final invoice included a repair involving caulking seams and corners. That work was not done. When I inquired about this, I was told that they made an adjustment so "it should not leak anymore." If any water does enter those gutters, I am pretty sure it will leak, but I won't know until the rainy season. My rating is based on the assumption that the "adjustment" will work; if it leaks, I will update my review. I requested a refund for the work not done (which was less than 1.5% of the total bill) that was listed on the final invoice. I did not receive a reply until I emailed twice. The response just said the problem was solved without sealing the corners with no offer of a refund. I reviewed all of the project documentation (which included many photos), but there was no mention or photo of any adjustment to correct the problem. I never received a reply to my follow-up email. To give Sunshine Gutters some credit, they did come when they said they would and completed the job quickly (except the leak repair). The only other issues I experienced were some debris on my mailbox from the gutters and one of my plants being damaged (which I am hopeful will recover). read more

Replaced a 15 ft gutter section and had another 28 ft cleaned. Both were fitted with gutter guards in May. Here's my review after a couple heavy rains this year. I had two main issues with our gutters. One was a shorter section that was angled in a way that kept water in the gutter instead of having it empty out into the downspout. That led to water going the wrong way and hitting our house, leaving an unsightly discolored spray mark on our wall. The retained water also led to corrosion and significantly shortened the lifespan of the gutter. The other issue is that I really don't like heights. Every couple of years, I felt like I was risking my life going up 2 stories to clean out these gutters. To resolve these issues, I requested quotes from 12 Bay Area companies and of the ones that got back to me, there were only 3 that handled gutter replacement (one contractor declined due to tile roofing). Of the 3, I got a reasonable quote from Sunshine Gutters and E-Z Rain Gutter, and a ridiculous quote that was more than 4x the price of these two. I was happy with both quotes but picked Sunshine Gutters because of some additional details the salesperson gave about installing flashing to level out my gutter and have it point in the right direction. I signed the contract electronically and everything was set into motion. There were two problems though. I told the salesperson that I wasn't in the following week, but anytime after that would be ok. Two weeks after, I saw I had a missed message. The contractors were sent to my house the week I was out. I called Sunshine Gutters and rescheduled. No harm to me, but two people just made an unnecessary house visit. On the day of the job, two contractors/gentlemen arrive and I greet them to talk through the project. As they're prepping the materials, I notice something is off. The replacement gutter has a wing, which will not allow them to adjust the angle. I tell one of the guys and he says that he wasn't informed of the flashing, but could make it work. He takes out some tinsnips and quickly removes the wing. After that, both guys get to work and in a few hours, the job is complete. I didn't get a chance to inspect the work until a few months later, but so far, I'm happy with the results. Overall, I'm happy with the quality of the work and the price seemed reasonable. The salesperson was very knowledgeable and helpful - I didn't know what a wing or flashing was or really anything about gutters. The contractors were respectful and worked cleanly. Main issues were the handoff from the salesperson to the people doing the work. I would recommend that you be on site when the work is being completed and be very thorough in what you want done (even going through the contract if necessary). If I wasn't there to explain the problem I was having to the installers, I would still have water splashing into my house! I'd also recommend inspecting the work when the contractors are there so they can fix anything while on site. That's just good practice, but when I thought of it, they had put away their equipment and I was too lazy to get out my own ladder. All in all, I'd recommend Sunshine Gutters. read more

I had a very uncomfortable sales experience. The sales guy seemed nice in that I would probably enjoy a conversation with him at a friend's barbecue or something. But the estimate was very awkward and uncomfortable and felt high pressure. I just needed the gutters cleaned, one little rusted out area fixed, and two downspouts adjusted. The guy was like well we can't fix a gutter, we have to replace it. I'm like well I don't know the difference so okay how much will that cost? He quoted me a price per foot which seemed reasonable but then it'd cost an amount about double that. Which made no sense. And the whole thing ended up coming in at thousands of dollars for work that did not even need to be done. He kept asking me, what do you want, what do you want do you want this do you want that? And I was like, I want a little rusted spot fixed and two downspouts adjusted. That's what I want. I don't want flanges and steel and aluminum and loop-de-loops and watchamawoozits. Give me what's cheapest. And then he kept saying, "I'll take care of you. Don't worry, I'll take care of you on the price." And I was like dude. I hope that you take care of all of your customers. I hope that you don't cheat some of them. Telling me that you're going to give me a special deal does not make me feel special. It makes me feel like the situation is sleazy. And then we got to the end, where most contractors leave and then send you the quote later. But no, apparently we had to stand there, outside, taking shelter underneath my carport because it was pouring rain. While he put every little last detail into his phone so that he could come up with a total, while showing me how he was "taking care of me" on the price. And then of course he ended with, okay, if you're ready to do the work I'll take a deposit now. Which is the most evil hard sell tactic. And even after all of that, I was going to let it go. Until he calls up two days later and asks if I was ready to have them do the work. I was like dude, I will call you if I make a decision that I want you to do the work. He said "Okay, well I will call you every single Friday until you say yes." I said PLEASE DO NOT DO THAT. He said "I have to." That was the ultimate in creep town. That point, even if I had been considering using the company, I would have run screaming. I said PLEASE DO NOT. And he said okay, then I guess I'll have to put you down as not interested. And I was like do whatever the heck makes your heart happy, but do not call me every Friday until I die of old age. read more

They did the work of cleaning the gutters and fitting new gutter guards - I will report back once they have been put to the test. They showed up two hours after the arrival window that they specified when we scheduled the service. I specifically asked the team to be mindful to not flushing the debris down the downspouts since I knew they have a tendency to get clogged and I had just cleared them. The Sunshine team departed without any word and when I checked the downspouts they were completely clogged with dirt and debris. Even though downspout cleaning was itemized on my invoice I had to unfasten and clear all of the downspouts after the Sunshine team departed. They did a moderate job of removing the debris, but there was a fair bit of dirt and debris on the ground and the side of the house. Would have been great if they had just hosed things down when they finished. Left a fair of clean up for me to do after they left. I contacted Sunshine about my issue with the downspouts, but they never addressed my concerns with the service provided. read more

*Worst Home Contracting Experience Ever* (Update after seeing the reply to my review, from Sunshine's owner - It's true, I had a great experience with this company 13 years ago, making it all the more surprising to have been treated so badly on this recent service.) I hired Sunshine Gutters to clean and install new gutter screens in August 2024. It was a complete disaster. They showed me a set of pictures (the roof is too high for me to climb up myself) that made it look like they did all the work and did it well. It turns out those photos had been carefully taken to NOT show that they had left big gaps in the screens and damaged the roof shingles at each corner. Here's how I found out: When they finished their work, a shutter was damaged and they left behind an incredible amount of dirt and debris along with sharp tools on our front lawn. I called to complain. Sunshine's owner came out and aggressively argued that I was lying about the dirt (I had cleaned it up) and that the shutter just happened to come loose that day. I was so surprised by the rough treatment that I hired another company to take a look. They found, and photographed, big gaps in the screens and damaged roof shingles at every corner - none of which was visible in the photos Sunshine Gutters had given me. It took two months of back-and-forth to get Sunshine to agree to do the necessary repairs and provide the appropriate warranties. And they refused to discount the price - threatening to put a lien on the house if I did not pay in full. They made the resolution process as long and painful as possible, even threatening the lien again if I did not pay the final invoice on the same day they sent it. read more

From start to finish, Sunshine Gutters is extremely customer-focused. This is the only company I contacted that photographed all of the gutters and downspouts before and after the job was completed. The typical customer is not going to climb up a ladder to see whether the job is done correctly, so these photos are the best way to handle that. They provide a communications interface to privately share photos and text between the customer and the business. This is to the customer's advantage because the entire conversation threads are there for future reference. They repaired gutters that had come away from the eaves, replaced a corroded downspout with a primed downspout that had the perfect dimensions, made certain all downspouts were secured, and fitted gutter guards around the entire gutter perimeter. I have an enormous tree at my curb that sheds leaves and twigs 12 months a year, so investing in high quality filters is well worth the cost (and it is expensive, no matter what business does the job!). read more

I reached out to Sunshine Gutters after searching them over Google and having connected with few other companies. I needed my entire House gutters to be replaced. Most other companies including Lowe's they typically review house structure over satellite map and quote you over the phone VS. these guys sent someone in person who also looked at the gutters closely and gave recommendation that saved me some money. The sales agent didn't push too hard on selling other things and was easy to work with. The service guys seemed knowledgeable and did their job professionally. They also gave some recommendations for water outlets that helped me some bucks. My only negative experience with them was scheduling the job. The back-office is not pro-responsive and need some follow-ups. My job was once cancelled by them due to some accident they had and they did not reschedule it immediately. I had to call multiple times to sort things out. Although, I will recommend them to others I hope they train the back office for a better experience. read more

The men told us that there was hardly any debri in the tracks and the gutters we have are double meshed which is even better than what they sell or install. The drains were clear too. I got three estimates for a cleaning/cover installation. One tried to hard-sell me on a super-expensive job. One eyeballed it and gave me a ridiculously low estimate. Sunshine was the ONLY one to get out a ladder, go up, and actually look at the situation up there. I got a knowledgeable, friendly rundown, a reasonable estimate, and an expedited installation date. And THEN they showed up early and were done before I knew it... literally, I was in a meeting, and my wife dealt with them. By the time I was out, they were done and gone. The pictures speak for themselves. I ordered a prepainted downspout. Multiple no-shows and delays from the getting a quote to the installation. What I received a gutter that was hung improperly and spray painted poorly after it was attached to my house. I reported the issues the day it was installed. Sunshine did an amazing job replacing my rain gutters. Since my roof is slate, all the other rain gutter vendors were hesitant to the take the job. However, Sunshine was able to do the job without breaking a single tile. They were also thoughtful about what they replaced, by leaving some fascia boards and downspouts in place, that were still fine. As a consequence, the project cost was lower than other leading companies. Sunshine has LeafBlaster gutter guards that are top of the line too. "Seamless" experience with these seamless Gutters installers. 1) We were referred by the gutter covers manufacturer, Gutters Glove. apparently, Sunshine Gutters is one of the most recommended gutter screen installers. 2) We called for an estimate, and the company answered immediately, I called 3 other companies that never picked up the phone or returned my calls. 3) promptly within a few days an estimator I believe Steven came out and assessed and measured the width of gutters to be covered (not lengths; we were told that they get the lengths from satellite images) 4) Same day they did the estimating, they sent their proposal with options for two types of gutter covers. leaf blaster or gutter glove pro. 5) we called to confirm an order. 6) they asked us to sign the proposal form to confirm our order; we did so. 7) they acknowledged our order and let us know that they would let us know when the materials would be available so that an install date could be scheduled. 8) they called after receiving my material order for the gutter screen installation by them and we agreed on an install date. 9) once installation day arrived, they came with the needed materials tools, and equipment for installation cleaned the gutters, and installed the gutter covers. 10) no issues on our part. 11) they sent us an invoice to pay (via email attachment) 12) we paid the invoice by providing our credit card number and billing information 13) they charged our card and returned a receipt to us via email attachment. without hesitation, we would gladly choose Sunshine Gutters again for any future needs. read more

We had Sunshine Gutters come to do some gutter work (Repair part of it, clean and install a new downspout). They came and got it done but 1) Left a huge mess. Screws all over the yard and driveway where our cars are parked. We literally had to sweep the whole yard. 2) The downspout that was installed was hideous. It stuck out almost like a 90 degree elbow. None of my other downspouts are like that and I don't see any other houses with downspouts like that. But the reason for the review was because of the dishonesty of the owner. When I spoke, he agreed and said they would come back to fix it. Promised to come back "way before 2 months." When two months came, I reminded him and he set up an appointment and everything and just never showed up. Said they called but never did. When I asked again they set up another date and blew that one off too. I was honestly going to still give them a 4 star review for being a man of his word and going back to fix it (Minus 1 star for the mess). But I don't like the owner pulling my chain like that. He could have just said that it was supposed to be like that and there's nothing I could do but the fact that he agreed it was ugly and said he would do it and never did is why they get this one star review. Update: I'm quite disappointed that they'd rather lie and say "I'm not on their system" like I was never a customer instead of just owning up to it and keeping their word. I still get messages ALL the time to clean my gutters. So either they are lying or they don't know how to use their system.
