However, the evidence does not support this conclusion. Our roof consists of two levels, and we observed rust on several spots across five long panels--many of which are not adjacent to the solar installation. Furthermore, the upper level of the roof, which has no solar panels whatsoever, also exhibits couple similar rust spots. These observations strongly suggest that the rust is not caused by the solar installation but rather stems from a material or manufacturing defect. Despite these panels carrying a 50-year life warranty, the roofer was quick to claim that the rust is not covered under the manufacturer's warranty. This is deeply disappointing, particularly given the clear evidence that the damage extends well beyond any area impacted by the solar work. The roofer demonstrated no willingness to help address the issue and offered no solution for the roof leak currently occurring at the lower level. The lack of accountability and absence of any proposed remediation is unacceptable given the scope of the defects observed.

He also told me that the owner, Grover, would personally come out for a free inspection and discuss any repairs that might be needed. I trusted my neighbor's referral, so I gave Wonderlin Roofing a call. Grover came out within the week. He was very professional and personable, conducted a thorough roof inspection, and afterward took the time to go over his findings with me. He also showed me photos of what he had found. When I received the estimate, I appreciated that it was broken down into repairs that were necessary, repairs that should be completed within a reasonable amount of time, and repairs that could be addressed in the near future. I called to discuss the recommendations, and ultimately decided to have all of the work completed. This is where the scheduling process became a little challenging. There was some miscommunication on both parts, including missed emails and some confusion about scheduling, which became frustrating at times. We did establish dates, although I also had to cancel once because of unforeseen circumstances. One thing I wish had been communicated more clearly was that when a work date is scheduled, there can be uncertainty about whether the crew will be able to complete everything that day. I completely understand that with roofing, you don't always know what you will find once the work begins. The challenge was coordinating my availability with Wonderlin Roofing's availability to return the following day if additional work was needed. It became difficult to keep additional days open and make sure I was available when the crew was able to return. Once we finally locked in a date and the crew arrived, everything went very smoothly. The crew was professional, personable, and respectful of my property. They were also very considerate of the neighbors--they weren't talking loudly or yelling back and forth to each other, and there was no loud music or unnecessary noise. They did an excellent job cleaning up and kept me informed throughout the day as the work progressed. I was even shown the areas of the roof that were removed and needed to be repaired or replaced, and they sent me pictures of the completed repairs. This allowed me to compare the finished work with the original inspection photos, which I really appreciated. There was also an issue with my gutter. After the initial consultation, I noticed that the gutter had been damaged where the ladder had been placed. I immediately notified the office, and they told me they would address it when the crew returned for the repairs. When the crew arrived, the crew lead saw the damage and immediately said that he would replace the gutter. I told him that I appreciated his willingness to replace the entire gutter, but asked if they could try to repair it first. I explained that if the repair looked good and resolved the issue, that would be perfectly acceptable to me. They were able to successfully repair the gutter without having to replace it. I was very appreciative that the crew lead was willing to replace the gutter without question, and I also appreciated that they were able to find a way to repair it instead. One thing to be aware of when planning for the work is that Wonderlin Roofing does not accept credit cards as a form of payment, so you'll want to make sure you're prepared with an acceptable form of payment when the job is completed. Overall, I would recommend Wonderlin Roofing. I was impressed with Grover's professionalism, the detailed inspection, the photographs, and the way the estimate clearly separated the repairs by priority. The crew that completed the work was excellent and treated my home with respect. My only recommendation would be to make communication after the initial inspection a little clearer, particularly regarding scheduling and the possibility that additional days may be needed to complete the work. To be fair, there was miscommunication on both sides, and once we discussed it and agreed on a better way to communicate, everything went smoothly. In the end, I am happy with the work that was done and appreciate the professionalism of the crew. Most importantly, I feel confident that the repairs that needed to be addressed were taken care of properly.

The service itself was fine and the pricing was fair enough hence the 2 stars…read more However, as one other recent reviewer also flagged, the billing and invoice payment experience was so negative it motivated me to write this review. Our estimator gave me incorrect information in developing our contract, telling me our downspouts including the downspout attachments that went underground, would be fully cleaned out during our service. When they did not clean the downspout attachments, they told me they don't do underground attachments even though the estimator told me this was included in our pricing. I paid the majority of our bill, leaving about $230 balance while I disputed the unfinished work. Eight months ago, I sent an email that was never responded to and never heard from the company again. Then yesterday when their legal department called me out of the blue to threaten to send me to collections over the unpaid balance. I replied immediately to explain the situation and their response was to say if the balance wasn't paid by the end of the day it would be sent to collections. They alleged they had called and emailed about the outstanding invoice (they hadn't - I went through my emails, spam and my phone and found no evidence of any attempts on their end to contact me). I was shocked that they took such an aggressive, threatening approach to a customer who a) they dropped the ball with and b) who was actively in good faith trying to resolve the dispute immediately once they brought it to my attention. We had a misunderstanding about the scope of work - I would have appreciated some acknowledgement or apology on their end vs. them dropping the ball completely then coming back out of nowhere to threaten me with collections. Just not a good way to do business and I am left with a very sour taste from dealing with the legal threats.

After the service was completed, I observed debris remaining in multiple sections of the gutter system and took photographs documenting my concerns. Based on what I observed, I did not believe the entire gutter system had been fully cleaned as described in the scope of work. I contacted the company on the day of the service and requested a follow-up visit. Although a return visit was discussed, it ultimately never took place, and my concerns regarding the completeness of the cleaning were never fully addressed. Because of this, I did not feel the work fully matched my expectations for a complete gutter cleaning. To be fair, ASF did perform significant work, including gutter repairs and cleaning in other areas, and the company ultimately worked with me to reach a mutually agreed resolution of the matter. Future customers may wish to inspect the gutters carefully after service and document any concerns promptly.
