Tealicious has been around for at least 8 years and though it's just a 5 minute drive from where I live, I've only been here 4 or 5 times!! They are popular for their drinks, but surprisingly, the food is actually pretty good, too. I've only eaten here 2 out of the 4-5 times I've been here, but have been happy with both experiences! Here's what I've had: - Seasonal Boiled Vegetable ($3.99): I asked for cabbage, which they didn't usually offer for this dish, so the waitress said the chef would customize and cook one for me! That was really nice. The chef stir fried and seasoned a delicious plate of cabbage & I couldn't be happier with it. - Beef Noodle Soup ($7.25): This was decently good. Delicious chunks of hearty beef, good amount of veggies, and it's a bit on the salty side, but it was still flavorful and satisfying. It would have been cool if you had the option to choose the thickness of your noodles, but the noodles they give you are tasty and has a nice, chewy texture. - Popcorn Chicken ($4.99): I think this dish a a bit overpriced given the measly portion size and many of the chicken pieces were just fried pieces of batter or fried chicken fat. Still a tasty dish, but I'd prefer to have more lean chunks of fried chicken than batter and fat!! - Fried Pork Chop ($5.99): Generous portion! I really like the tasty pork chops here. So good and nicely fried! - Taiwanese Sausage ($4.99): Love this dish!! Comes with sliced garlic, cilantro, and the sausage is nicely sliced up for you. Very juicy and full of flavor!! - Boba milk tea (regular: $2.59/large: $3.09): Creamy, smooth milk tea with soft & delicious boba! Very tasty here. - Watermelon Juice (regular: $2.59/large: $3.09): Very refreshing and not overly sweet! One thing that irked me was one of the unfriendly workers. There's this younger female worker (early 20's) who never smiles or greets customers. She seems to have such an attitude and has an unfriendly demeanor. The middle aged woman is really cool, though!! One day while I was at work minding my own business, my co-worker showed up and told me he was buying me lunch. I was like, heck yes! Who says no to free lunch?! Well, later on I found out he wanted me to dog sit for him over the weekend. Lesson learned, there is no free lunch in this world. Tealicious was the choice. Tealicious is located the same plaza as Starbucks; the parking could be bad but not impossible. When we went inside, there were no customers, so we thought it was going to be a quick lunch. Oh how we were so wrong... Apparently, this restaurant is famous for lunch take out and during the time we were waiting for our food, I saw many people came in and out nonstop, but no one sat down to eat like us. Sigh. We ordered #1 Basil Chicken with Rice, #12 House Special Stew Pork Rice, and an order of popcorn chicken. Maybe it was me, but for $7.25 a dish, the portion looked small to me and our popcorn chicken didn't show up until there were only two bites of rice left. The flavor of the chicken and pork were both on the sweeter side and very average tasting. Popcorn chicken was bland and no salt and pepper could save it. The only good thing was the meal came with a free tea (choice of black, green, or milk tea), but that did not make up for the food at all. There was free wifi in the restaurant, but same was Starbucks. The service was almost non-existent due to the busy foot traffic in the restaurant with only one guy being the cashier, server, drink mixer, and bus boy. Tealicious is under new ownership now and thus, has a new look and approach to doing things. While I love the new clean decor, there was a coziness and familiarity under the old ownership that seems to be lacking this time around. I also have a minor gripe with the pricing of the drinks because you're paying a tad bit more for your milk tea drinks here (a regular boba milk tea is $2.75 I believe) than you would at places like Lollicup or Tapioca Express for similar quality drinks. Nonetheless, I still think this is a great place to hang out with friends or get some studying done. Staff is friendly and attentive, they recognize us when we come in and that makes a regular feel awesome! Often we come in just for boba milk tea (regular or large sizes), which they also carry in various flavors, including Lavender milk tea-- my addiction when living in Taipei. Every now & then we actually eat here, and the food is very good! It is a small spot clustered in a mini-mall, so it can be tough to pick out, and it can be picked over for a fancier atmosphere. The interior isn't anything to write about, as barebones and simple as a boba bar, with small photos lining the walls of menu items with prices. I find myself craving the beef noodle soup, or pork dumplings, or maybe just popcorn chicken, and when I do I come here. They have excellent Taiwanese bento: rice, hard boiled egg, chicken leg, sauteed eggplant, broccolli.. The authenticity of the cuisine is noteworthy, its not trying to be the best, its just serving good Taiwanese cuisine. All of their broths are made from scratch in the store. I could see it doing very well by the locals in Taiwan, nestled into a street market and having a line out the door during lunch. Did they really just stick my milk tea in a microwave and charge me 4 dollars for it?! Why yes, yes they did. They also use powder for the milk teas. I can tell because I can see and taste the undissolved milk powder. Cash only and there is a 10 dollar minimum for credit cards. The staff was not very welcoming and did not crack one smile the whole time I was there (and I was the only customer). Nestled in a Big Lots parking lot at the corner of Grand and DB Blvd, this spot would be easily missed were it not for my shining my golden light upon it. I imagine the guy behind the counter is the owner since he's the only person I've ever seen there. He's very nice and when he recognizes that it is your first time there, he hooks up a size upgrade on your boba drink. They supposedly have frozen yogurt but the machines have been out of commission every time i've been there. Why get froyo at a boba spot anyway? My first time there I got the little appetizer of popcorn chicken...you know, taiwanese style. Very tasty. So I brought the hubby so we could grub for real on the cheap. I got the popcorn chicken plate (i know...creature of habit) and he got the pork chop plate. We spent just under 20 bucks and had WAAAY more food than we ever anticipated. My popcorn chicken plate came with an awesome pile of ground pork rice, a salad, some eggs with tomato sauce and onions, and some pickled spicy vegetable. Place is different than your cheesy Lollicup type boba places because they actually serve real food here. I came here after working out to order boba. I ordered a lavender milk tea with boba. The boba pearls have a soft chewy texture. The lavender flavor, however, is very subtle and almost tastes like a regular milk tea. I still enjoyed it. The drinks are reasonably priced, with regular sized teas at around $2.89 (toppings are about 0.75 extra) They ask you if you want your food for here or to go. To-go service was quick. All the drinks was good but the pudding milk tea was "okay" the pudding was not yellow as expected but a purplish color...not sure why.... For food snacks we order calamari, fried squid balls, fried tofu, popcorn chicken. The calamari reminded me of friend mozzarella sticks cuz of the coating on it. The squid and tofu was delish. the popcorn chicken felt it was missing something. I think because I am used to it fried with basil but over all it was alight. for the main course we got ground pork over rice and beef noodle soup. the ground pork (mince pork in most places) was alright....there wasn't much of a flavor that made me think it was the best. Don't like to leave bad reviews during pandemic but this one is necessary. Ordered and was told our food would take 30 minutes to prepare. OK, reasonable. 30 minutes goes by, not ready. Then 45, 1 hr, 1 hr 10, 15, 20. Our food took a total of 1 hour and 30 minutes to come out. Other customers were coming in and out and getting their dishes. We ordered 5 dishes and 2 snacks. That does not warrant a 90 minute wait, ESPECIALLY when other customers who are ordering after us are getting their items first. Ridiculous. And it is not the server's fault but that of the chef. TEALICIOUS is DELICIOUS! As I recall, there used to be a Quickly before Tealicious finally took its place. All I can say is, I'm glad Tealicious replaced it! Cheap prices, but great drinks. I ordered an Iced Green Tea drink with crystal jelly. The crystal jelly tastes like aloe vera jelly -- really yummy, and healthy, too! I also tried some of my friend's Passion Fruit Slush with crystal jelly. Good stuff! Refreshing, and the slush isn't too icy, nor is it too liquidy. Service: AWESOME! When I went there with my friend, we were served by an adorable couple. They were very nice and patient with our orders and questions. I was very pleased with their service. Decor is cute as well, far better than the setup for Quickly, and they even have some beta fish swimming around in cute bowls that are hung up against the wall. I've been a happy customer of Tealicious for at least a year now. I love boba, and Tealicious knows how to make it well! I like to get the boba milk tea. The boba is one of the best I've ever had -- consistently soft, chewy, with some sweetness to it. Because Tealicious is also close to home, I usually come here to satisfy my boba craving. Also, the popcorn chicken is very good. This is old news but Tealicious was renovated last year, I believe after a change in ownership. I like the new decor, seems like a nice environment to study or hang out with a few friends. Pork chop rice - turned into pork chop with french fries because the guy came out and said we would have to wait longer for rice. This lead me to believe that either they didn't have rice ready in the back or they take a long time microwaving their rice. We opted for french fries since I was on lunch break. Fries were alright. Pork chop was decent. Thin, covered in panko chips, and fried. This came with a scoop of microwaved bean sprouts and ONE single broccoli flower. ONE. Popcorn chicken - not bad. The server offered ketchup and sweet and sour dipping sauces after we finished half the order. Lychee slush - blended well. A bit too sweet. It also had tea in it, which was not anticipated. Milk tea - very creamy. Soft and chewy boba. Service altogether was very slow. We waited longer than we actually ate. We also had to ask for everything including to go boxes the first time. I've been pretty fond of this place for about a year now and just decided to pay it a visit for a quick dinner this evening. I really like their food, especially the fried pork chop rice and the popcorn chicken. Their drinks are pretty good too. The only annoying thing would be the lady working the counter tonight. Some younger Asain lady, not the older sweet one that used to be there. Anyway, I ordered the food then decided that I was going to try the honey lemon drink. I ordered it and she asked which one. I said the one under their Freshly Squeezed Juice category on the menu. I pointed at it. She said, "well, it shouldn't be fresh squeezed because you can't squeeze honey." There used to be a boba place where Tealicious now stands. I can't remember what it was called and I'm glad I can't because it was awful. It was easy for them to go out of business because Lollicup stood right across the street and their boba was far superior. Out goes bad boba place and in comes a friendly, neighborhood self-serve frozen yogurt stop. Ever since Pinkberry blew-up and began to offer over-priced frozen yogurt, numerous other copycats have sprung-up to offer an alternative and less expensive experience. Tealicious is pretty small, but who needs room when all you're serving is frozen yogurt and yummy toppings that go on top? I can see how summer could be pretty frightening because it could easily get packed and the toppings could get pretty gnarly after having been handled by a good number of people. Nevertheless, the soft serve is tasty, the toppings are fresh and the price - well, it could use some work. Being the cheap bastard that I am, I used a coupon I found in Valpak for a two-for-one price that allowed me and my nephew to savor the flavors of summer for a little over $4 (so just $2 per person). This was my second time going here. The first time i just came for a taro milk tea. This time I came with an appetite :D It was a bit late, so there were only a couple people inside. And I didn't really know what to get, so I asked the staff what was popular and went with the beef noodle soup, and I think it was the honey citron hot tea? The service was very quick. My tea was ready within 5 min piping hot, which was good, although it took a while before it came down to a temperature that wasn't going to burn off all my taste buds haha. The beef noodle soup took a bit longer to prepare, understandably. It was also super-hot coming out, so I sipped on my tea as I waited for it to cool down as well.
