The Hawaiian Honey Pork Sandwich is absolutely delicious. The pork was tasty and tender. Bread is fluffy and toasted warm. The only thing I would have wanted is more pickled veggies. Didn't try any of the drinks, but will definitely come back to try something off the extensive menu. read more

Their boba is by far the best boba in town - SoCal approved. SoCal transplants or visitors, they even have mini boba and pudding toppings as well as pate chaud! My friends and I ordered the rose milk tea with egg pudding, Thai tea with egg pudding, Thai tea with mini boba, strawberry milk tea with coffee jelly, and rose tea with boba - everything was great. Today I stopped by TeaLeaf to grab a quick sandwich while running errands. At 3 pm, the shop was pretty slow - I was the only customer. I ordered the taro milk tea, 1/2 sweet, with mini boba. When I asked the girl at the register if the honey bbq pork sandwich was bahn-mi style, she seemed unsure of what I meant, but another woman behind the counter nodded yes - so I ordered it. My bill came to $9.47, which included a 50c fee for spending under $10 with my card. Note to self - bring cash next time, as my orders at bubble tea/bahn mi outings rarely surpass $10. The sandwich was delicious and heavy on the pork, which - considering the price of the sandwich - was generous compared to many other bahn mi's I've enjoyed. The sandwich roll was crispy and airy and the perfect texture! I believe the boba tea drinks only come in one size, but it's nice that you can go non-dairy with options like almond or coconut milk based drinks. Half sweet was perfect. If you want good boba definitely check this place out. I've tried several boba spots here in town and this one is one of my favorites. I went with a friend and I ordered their mango slush with regular boba which is delicious. My friend ordered a watermelon slush without boba and also really enjoyed it. Take note that their boba does taste a little more sweet than other bobas in town. I personally don't mind the extra sweetness but it is very noticeable. I've sampled a LOT of boba in my day. The best, by far, that I've ever had is in NYC (it's called Gong Cha). But Tealeaf is as close as it gets. I've tried most of the boba places in the area, and this one has never disappointed me. Strong flavors, boba prepared to perfection (never too hard, too soft, too chewy, or too gooey - it's always juuuust right), and fully customizable on sweetness level and amount of ice. 1st punch card full in less than a month. This place not only has yummy boba drinks but delicious food. The boba drinks are consistent in flavor. They don't fill the cup up with a lot of ice and I like how you can choose your sweetness level and they have milk substitutes. Summer rolls are delicious and you get a good amount of pork in the rolls. The rolls were warm and super fresh. Honey bbq vermicelli is yummy, pork is well flavored and tender, and you get a generous serving. They have a rice bowl option too if you don't want noodles. The fish cake udon is delicious, the broth ranks up there with the best broth I've had considering I'm from Hawaii so I've had my fair share of udon soup. Let's start out by saying that I have already been to this establish enough times to fill my punch card. No I'm not ashamed. Located in the mystic cumbersome of south Reno sits a majestic hale (hawaiian for house) of boba. As a avid drinker of boba I am happy to report that this is currently one of the only bubble tea shops in town that has egg pudding! I'm a sucker for a Thai tea with egg pudding. Tea is on point. Must say one of the better tasting teas I've had in town. Staff is usually friendly but still learning so be patient. They also have a few food options. Banh mi (Vietnamese sandwhich) and pate chaud (meat pie). I am no stranger to the world of Vietnamese food and as a recovering addict I quickly went into pate chaud withdrawals. The sweet flaky crust with minced meat in the middle fashioned into a mini hand pie that could put your moms cooking to shame. Alas! I have not tried their pate chaud as the establishment usually runs out by mid-day. I also went in at opening time grabbed my usual but was denied pate chaud yet again. I hope to be reunited with my first love very soon. The atmosphere of the shop is very simple. Some seating with a couple board games to choose from and a small bar to sit at by the door. If anyone wants to lose at connect4 let me know :). I do have a couple things that almost made me give them a 4 star rating. Honestly a couple times I've gone into the shop and it was hot in there. Doors were both open and the heat was really lingering. I took my drink and drank it in the car. Another thing that bothered me is the ice to tea ratio. I went in and for the first couple times I was kind of mad. I paid 5$ for a Thai tea and pudding. My cup was filled to the top with ice. This means less tea which is good for the ole diet but I couldn't even drink up the pudding. I had to take ice out just so I could move the straw around and snipe me some pudding from between the cubes. Other than that great tea and great boba. Try the mini boba pearls! Also as part of all my reviews I have tried there bathroom as I did have two bubble teas during my last visit. Single multi gender bathroom with what appears to be double ply. Kosh but nothing crazy. 10/10 will use again. 4.5/5 stars for taste, selection, and setting. Foodie J's umami scale 10/10. Overall will drink again. I love the egg pudding here. FINALLY a great boba place in town ! There are others in town but this is by far my favorite because of the simplicity , convenience ( hello right next to target ) and customer service . I wanted to try the place out and finally I was able to drop by and check it out . Greeted immediately and I wasn't rushed to look over the menu . Who doesn't love that ? When my order was up the owner stopped me from getting an imperfect order . How amazing is that ? Simple and yummy new bubble tea place in the Target plaza. You can build your own milk tea- choose type of tea, level of sweetness, and add extras like boba. I like this because often bubble tea is way too sweet. I got the oolong milk tea, 25% sweetness with large boba. It was perfect! The boba was chewy and good. I moved from a place that had amazing Boba and when I got to Reno and was unsuccessful at finding a good Boba place I started to get sad that I wouldn't find one. I came across tea leaf today and was so excited that not only did the drink but also the Boba taste really good! I got a green tea rose with oat milk and regular Boba, so good!! I wanted to check this place out since it opened, but it's a little far from my part of town. Finally made it in, but not what I was hoping for. I'm torn about the review. On one hand the customer service was amazing, above and beyond what I normally experience. I also loved that the menu has a lot of options to allow you to create an item specific to you. Unfortunately the bubble tea I had was horrible. And that's a hard thing to do to bubble tea. I kept it simple and got a plain oolong tea, with milk. Maybe that's where I went wrong, it's possible other flavors are better. The tea had hardly any flavor - the tapioca bubbles had more flavor than the tea, that's how bland it was. Not even any creaminess from the dairy. I'm willing to give another try, but not going to come out of my way. read more

Stopped here for a quick pick me up. Upon entering the space was open and clean. I kept my order simple with a winter melon and popping boba. They were out of pear so I chose mango. It tasted nice. The place needs some more personality but i understand it's a new business and that takes time. I would try it out again as it's convenient to shopping in town. Well they have a few hiccups but it's nothing much to write about as they are a new business and they deserve some time to fix it. They have the usual milk teas/slushies/drinks that you'd expect to find at a boba spot.
