Mango tea with rainbow jelly
Michelle D.

I walked in to the super clean and welcoming environment. We were instantly greeted and seated at a comfy booth. (There were tables and booths here.) the service was very god as the waitress was super attentive and even gave great suggestions as we asked what some of their popular dishes were. One of the owners even chatted with us for a moment and that was nice to see the face behind the beautiful establishment. We got a little rundown on how they make their super flavorful Vietnamese coffee! It's all in the beans for sure which she said they get directly from Vietnam! I wished they sold the beans there! We tried the garlic shrimp noodles and oxtail pho. Both were so delish! We couldn't even finish them so we asked for them to go and the service was simply great! The oxtail pho came with 5 or 6 "meaty" oxtails and the soup was so good! The garlic shrimp noodles were also so flavorful and the shrimp was huge and plentiful. I wish I tried more dishes but I simply couldn't as I was so full! I hope people visit this establishment as there is great parking, good service, and fresh and tasty food (and drinks)! I did see the bar menu and they have some fun looking tasty drinks so I'd love to try that as well! I highly recommend trying this establishment! I'll be headed back really soon! Second visit a week later and ordered some drinks right when they opened at 11. The Vietnamese coffee is a must... super authentic and it's all about the beans that they get from Vietnam!! We also tried a mango tea with rainbow jelly. Very good. It's a pretty drink, too! Just like most flavored teas it was on the sweeter side but did NOT have a syrupy issue. It was refreshing and so good!

We had kept seeing the sign for Silk and finally gave it a try. The restaurant was bigger than expected, very clean and presentable. Everyone was very friendly and provided excellent service. The old fashioned was great, I was a bit worried when it came out much lighter in appearance than expected but the flavor was perfect. The calamari is different from most in the area, it has an excellent cook on it and was very tender. The seasoning was delicate. I would definitely get theses again. The Pad Thai was good, but there are other restaurants I prefer more so I think next time I will try something new instead. Overall the food was good and the service was excellent.

So good that I went back two days in a row. This will be one of my regular stops in Reno now! The food? Phenomenal. The staff? Phenomenal. The ambiance? Phenomenal. The beverages? Phenomenal.

Had a great family dinner here. Service was beyond exceptional and everyone was so kind and accommodating to our requests. The street fried rice with grilled pork was exceptional - an amazing smokey charcoal flavor on the pork and the eggs were perfectly fried. The fried noodles were delicious and had the perfect amount of oil and spices. The grilled and marinated steak with veggies was PHENOMENAL and literally cannot be beat. The cocktails were a bit sweet but I enjoyed the lychee cocktail with pear syrup! My husband got the watermelon slushy and it was just blended watermelon which was absolutely fantastic and refreshing. The space is adorable and has been remodeled to fit the theme. Booth and table options for everyone!

Silk is a new restaurant in town, and I'm really hoping it stays around. I can see myself becoming a regular. We've had the pleasure of dining here a few times, but each visit has been wonderful. From the moment we walked in, the staff greeted us warmly. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting. The restaurant is spotless and doesn't have any unpleasant odors. The food is fresh, flavorful, and served hot. Also, priced very fairly. The staff is attentive, always ready to answer any questions a person might have about the dishes. Plus, there's a full bar with spirits, beer and wine. By the time we leave, it feels like a genuine connection, not just a transaction. That's the kind of experience you want after any visit to a restaurant.

bun bo hue

hello! first time here I must say that it is a nice modern clean vietnamese restaurant food was okay and overpriced imo oxtail pho was $19 and it was just ok, broth was ok, not where you want to come back every day bun bo hue was overpriced at highest $24 a bowl I think its overpriced, costing a leg and arm for a pho bowl spring rolls were ok, the peanut butter dipping sauce was runny, not a thick paste I must say the popcorn chicken was the best dish there, soft, tender and thick pieces of chicken, definitely great with the sweet and sour dipping sauce service was ok, even though there was not many customers if the prices didnt cost an arm and a leg, maybe youll get more customers tbh

Get anything that includes their house beef broth, and you are instantly going to be happy and feel better. It's just healing! We had a bahn mi (includes a bowl of broth- choose BEEF) and garlic noodles with shrimp. The app was the veggie Vietnamese wraps with various root veggies and shrooms; delicious! Staff was friendly and decor is cozy and cute. I felt like it was the Spirited Away soundtrack on repeat, but no complaints there! Thanks for a great meal. We can't wait to come back.

This dish was delicious! The server was polite! The atmosphere was quaint and pleasant. It was a weekday afternoon 2 weeks ago, so it wasn't packed. Overall, I enjoyed the whole experience.

The Service at Silk was next level good! So kind. We started with the green papaya salad appetizer, it was so fresh with Just the right amount of acidity. Their crispy Vietnamese rolls were unique and an absolute must try! The wrapper is made of vermicelli noodles! So light and flaky, in the best way. Both were awesome starters! My husband got the Wor wonton soup, it was overflowing with goodness. Best wontons I've tried. They were sturdy for wontons and had good flavor. I got the beef stew with rice. I should've gotten it with noodles. It probably would have made the dish overall have more substance. It had lots of liquid and I had to fish for the goods... don't be afraid to load it up guys, when I think stew I think hearty;) We will happily come back to try more items on their menu:)

Broiled pork and rice

I've heard so amazing reviews about the food, my family and I had to come check it out for ourselves. The inside is very clean and it's basic but pretty and comfortable. The staff are very friendly and attentive. The food is absolutely amazing. We love Asian food and we have all agreed it is our new favorite. The shrimp spring rolls are fresh and made to order. They are so good and the sauce is delicious. The pot stickers are so good and the popcorn chicken is a winner as well. They are fried and spiced to your desire. My daughter and I both tried the fame broiled pork and rice and agree that is is wonderful. Our new favorite. My husband ordered the beef stew and he loved it. It is safe to say we will be back, a lot.

I went in on their soft opening during the evening hour . Nice decor, staff are friendly few families were inside dining. Since, I'm on my way to work, I ordered a takeout. I ordered the pork chop rice plate with pickled veggies ( cabbage and carrots). I enjoyed the meal. I wanted to point out, the pork chop is very well marinated, it's spot on. It's very savory. I didn't add any fish sauce to the pork chop. It's not needed. I used it on the rice. I liked their in-house made pickled cabbage and carrots. Its acidity is perfect, not too sour. Taro milk tea, I asked for less sugar, with boba, turned out good. Just the way I wanted. Not too sweet like most boba places in town. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to family and friends. Come on out, it's located in sparks, on prater way, Near the RAC, and chopstick in sparks. Same center where 7-11 and Charles Jr.

Nice little space.

Food and service were both delightful I happened to catch them on their first day open. I got the black pepper steak which was super flavorful and tender. The spring rolls were well packed and had a sweeter/thinner peanut sauce than I'm used to. But it was delicious and paired well. They only had the soft opening menu for my visit but I'm excited to see what else they will be cooking up here.

Grand opening/soft opening day at Silk cafe and bar. We've been watching this newer locally owned Vietnamese restaurant and anticipated it's opening. We were excited to come in today for our lunch date. All staff was friendly and welcoming upon arrival. Simple menu, but it offers something for everyone and is vegetarian friendly. If it wasn't Summer warm today I would have ordered their beef short rib pho, but I know what I'm going to have next time. We started off with the popcorn chicken, a jasmine tea, taro milk tea with fresh tapioca pearls. We ordered the popcorn chicken medium heat and our palates appreciated what the basil brought to the dish. The chicken was not dry nor was it overcooked. I would definitely order this again. We ordered fried chicken rice plate and a grilled pork and shrimp vermicelli bowl for entrées. The fried chicken was cooked to perfection! The crunchy skin and perfectly seasoned, I could have had that by itself. (Their food was that good that I didn't notice my photos were blurry). I enjoyed the pickled vegetables and the fish sauce served on the side. I stole a bite of the hubb's vermicelli bowl; it was deliciously refreshing. We received a scratch off thank you for coming in today and I got my very own Silk glass water bottle. Hopefully the rest of your soft opening supersedes any expectations for today. Thank you for the hospitality today. Best of wishes and welcome to the neighborhood. Please don't take the beef short rib pho off the menu until I can try it. Lol

Third, I just like playing nickel video poker in a relaxed environment and when it's at the bar, even better. Drinks come faster that way. Speaking of drinks, they have the well stuff for the rookies who just order a rum and coke or gin and tonic. But for those in the know, all you have to do is ask for the good stuff and they will pour it for you, and they do have the good stuff. Full disclosure, they are a whiskey bar first and foremost, so they have more of that than anything else, but just to name a few others, they do have DonQ rum and Don Julio tequila so unless you are a high maintenance drinker, you can find what you are looking for. It is also worth noting that they bill themselves as a craft cocktail bar, which means they can and will make you a very nice mixed drink, speaking of the high maintenance among us. There are pool tables and leagues are a regular thing here as well as a nice little William Hill sportsbook in the corner. It closes early though, so keep that in mind. There are no less than a dozen beers on tap at any given time as well as several bottle and can options. Plenty of TV's above the bar and Direct TV, so they get almost anything you are looking for. The bar slots seem to be pretty loose most of the time and although I rarely play video Keno, I have seen many people cash out hundreds of dollars on a fairly regular basis playing it. Now for the bad...It is a truck stop bar and that in itself is not a bad thing, but sometimes, well...Truckers can be a lot to take in. Also, you will come home smelling like smoke. Otherwise, stop by if you are in the 'hood and take a look for yourself. Good place to pregame. If nothing else, check out the gun collection throughout the casino and bar, it is worth the trip alone.

The staff and restaurant were lovely as always, and you really can't beat the views from dining on the outdoor patio overlooking the Marina. If you have general hesitations when it comes to buffet food, you can put them at ease when at the Water Bar, as even the typical 'filler food' like salad and mashed potatoes were out-of-this-world good. I'm not kidding when I say their buffet-style Caesar Salad was better than any made-to-order Caesar I've had. Same goes for their garlicy mashed potatoes, they were heavenly! The poached prawns were prepared perfectly, and the snow crab legs and claws were delicious and easy to eat (if you're used to shelling your own crab). The soy-glazed salmon with wild rice was surprisingly flavorful and melted in my mouth. Even the mac & cheese was rich and creamy- I can't think of a single item I tried that was sub-par. I ended the meal with a slice of carrot cake that I kept thinking about long after I left. It was moist and well-spiced with a very decadent frosting, the perfect end to a delicious brunch. I will say, we weren't aware the cost per person for the buffet was $80 (it wasn't displayed on the buffet menu, our server didn't share this when telling us about the buffet, and we didn't ask). We have no regrets on opting for the brunch buffet, as again all the food was truly incredible. However, an $80 price tag will likely keep us from opting for the brunch buffet again in the future.

Since Legends was offering an all you can eat option and a buy two sushi rolls for $12.99, we decided to give Legends a try. Everyone had a couple of sushi rolls and I decided to sample different nigiri sushi so I can gauge the freshness and quality. Salmon, if not fresh (or as fresh as can be in Reno) can be oily and fishy. This wasn't it. It can tell it was previously frozen due to the texture. As fresh texture has more resistance when biting down vs previously frozen tends to be softer, less bounce when biting. But it was good or even better than some other local sushi offerings. Tako or boiled octopus, is almost never fresh caught / cooked at any restaurant other than Japan. Even in the Bay Area, Tako is usually bought cooked but not frozen. This is where it can affect the quality. If frozen, it can make the tako kind of stringy and mushy. When it's not frozen the tako is firm and slightly chewy. I can tell this tako travelled a little but it wasn't frozen. Unagi or grilled eel, is almost always purchased cooked by most restaurants other than what I've had in Japan. Similar to tako, it is usually shipped refrigerated but not frozen. All restaurants will serve unagi over rice with a drizzle of unagi sauce. The flesh should be tender and any bones will be super thin and not a problem to eat. There weren't any bones which is a plus. This unagi didn't appear to be previously frozen. We also has the edamame, which is tossed in garlic and salt with some oil. Very tasty on a simple dish. If cigarette smoke bothers you, there wasn't any in the restaurant but apparent everywhere in the casino, so plan ahead. The tables were about 30% capacity and even with that, the order to service gap was fairly long. Our server was pleasant and willing to explain how the player's card program worked.
