We came to check out the cocktail bar. The vibe in there is so cool, you feel transported into the 1940s. We got the salt & vinegar dirty martini and the moshi moshi gimlet. We loved how the salt & vinegar martini came with salt & vinegar chips! The moshi moshi gimlet was right up my alley with the melon and yuzu combo! Can't wait to come back and try the coffee!

Yep, I'm late to the party. I didn't get to attend the Yelp event earlier this year, so when I was recently down the street, I wandered in. This barber shop is totally unique. Start with the fabulous big elevated front deck. Then just inside to the right is a refined waiting area. From there there's a door to the enclosed shop area. To the left- a couple of small tables and a fabulous small bar. Absolutely- this barber shop serves coffee and cocktails !! I love Derby's decor sense, lots of beautiful structured wood. Masculine but still inviting to me. The coffee selection is the usual list and my mocha was nice and rich. A great sipper on the front deck. The cocktails the other girls order were unique and had fabulous presentations. The martini choices are fun. Plenty on street parking since the building is on a corner. Definitely will return to check out more of the bar list.

Quality/Quantity - High end "Old School" barber shop with a coffee and cocktail lounge. Beautiful cool decor both inside and outside. My first time and what a cool experience! If my private appointment hair stylist ever retires, I would consider coming here for my cuts. Till then, maybe just for coffee or cocktails. Today we tried the following drinks: Derby Fashion - Good flavors, a strong stiff drink. Salt & Vinegar Dirty Martini - Interesting flavors and the chips were a nice touch. Ambiance - Again, cool decor. 1940's theme barbershop. See pictures. Indoor and outdoor seating. Open 5 days a week from 7am to 9pm or 10pm. Closed on Sundays and Mondays. A small parking lot behind the building, but plenty of street parking. Service - 5 stars, very attentive. We got acknowledged quickly and then a second team member came out to help us. Good size - 12 person team. Met the owner Vincent - His chair is next to the restroom. A nice guy who introduced himself to me. Price - Cocktail prices are very reasonable from $11 to $13 each. Coffee prices are high end and reflect the quality of the drinks! High end barbershop and the prices reflect it. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 2015 and at this new beautiful location since 2025.

Clear Espresso Martini, salt & vinegar dirty martini, Moshi Moshi

I visited Derby as a cafe and bar customer which you can totally access without going into the barber shop. The inside of the shop is aesthetically super cute with classic vintage vibes. We sat inside for coffee and heard the staff explaining that during the day, the shop is really a coffeeshop with customers coming in to study or work in a quiet environment and more of a classy bar in the evenings. They have a very unique and creative cafe menu with the drinks consisting of interesting flavors like fennel, peach, and rose. For the cafe I got the Reese's Pieces, a chocolatey peanut butter latte, and my friend got the Dubai Chocolate Labubu Matcha which like Dubai chocolate, was chocolately and nutty from the pistachio and tahini. Both drinks were sweet but not too sweet and had clear coffee and matcha flavor. When I visited as a bar customer we ordered the Clear Espresso Martini, the Salt and Vinegar Dirty Martini, and the Moshi Moshi. The Clear Espresso Martini was indeed crystal clear and had no astringent alcohol feeling. Be warned: too easy to drink! The Salt and Vinegar Dirty Martini was so fun because it was served with a glass of salt and vinegar chips! So awesome to have a little snack for the table to go with your cocktail. This dirty martini seemed to be with pickle brine rather than olive brine and a pickle garnish. Pickle lovers would definitely enjoy this drink. Lastly the Moshi Moshi was a stunning bright green drink with melon and yuzu flavors. Citrusy and refreshing! I would absolutely go to Derby for any of their unique drinks again!

Stopped by for coffee. Absolutely delicious! I asked for a banana latte, which is not on the menu but the barista was accommodating and made one for me. It was creamy, not too sweet and just the perfect pick me up. We sat at the bar, no back support. Will be coming back!

This is a very well put together place. I quite enjoy the upscale space with such an immaculate attention to detail. The detail of the woodwork, tile, and barbershop is above and beyond anything I have seen in Reno. It has a feel of an old San Francisco establishment. This is not a bar for the 'kids' to come party at. This is where you come for a quiet drink with friends, a morning craft coffee, and/or a classy haircut. Anna has done a stellar job curating the drink menu. The clear espresso martini really struck me as a unique offering. They distill coffee (yes, in a stil!) so the vapor captures the flavor and most of the caffeine of coffee without any of the color or bitterness. It is gently sweetened, blended with the other ingredients, and batched in a keg with nitrogen. The nitro gives a velvety texture that would normally be there from a foam. It is truly one of a kind. I came in to try the coffee offering as well, I chose the Cardamom Cloud. It was creamy and served over ice with a cold foam.

Ok. Never heard of this place

Even though I did not partake of a beverage, this place is quite unique. An actual barber shop behind another door. A coffee and cocktail bar. Both indoor and outdoor seating. Wish I hadn't just had lunch with adult beverage so I could have tried one here. Definitely next time. Although those of us not drinking are trying cappuccino martinis.

This is such a unique spot to come and get your hair cut, your beard trim then sit back and enjoy a lovely beverage such as a nice cup of coffee or a signature cocktail while watching the cars go by. This is a great place to meet friends prior to a night out on the town. There is street parking and easy access into the welcome building. There are many spots in the area to bar hop, eat and take in California avenue and all it has to offer.

We totally loved the look and vibe of this establishment. Dark wood and glass gives it the old time feel along with new age coffee and alcoholic drinks, this is a place you can just relax and enjoy a beverage. The barbershop is awesome. More chairs and barber/ stylist than any great clips. The prices are fair and the personnel are friendly and knowledgeable. Shelly, one of the owners spoke with us about her personally producing all the hair products with natural ingredients, which they have a huge selection to choose from. I would totally enjoy coming back for a drink plus hair and beard trims.

We came by for a Yelp Elite event and had such a great time. My husband is actually a regular here for haircuts and hasn't gone anywhere else in the past two years. He genuinely loves the experience, which says a lot. For the event, they put together a thoughtful goodie bag with a cute little espresso cup and samples of their hair products. Such a nice touch and very on brand. I tried the Yelp Elite special drink, a coconut-infused gin with hints of Earl Grey and cherry. It was a unique combo but it worked. Light, slightly floral, and finished with a fun little fizzy pop. I also ordered the mochi mochi gimlet, which was super refreshing and easy to sip. The outdoor patio is adorable and has space heaters, which makes it comfortable even on chilly Reno nights. Inside is more limited on seating, but it feels cozy rather than cramped. Overall, it's a cool spot with personality. Great cuts, creative drinks, and a welcoming vibe. Definitely a place we'll keep coming back to.

Attentive and engaging staff! This (newer) location is more laid back than their downtown location was. They DO cut hair and shave!!! They DO pour excellent coffee beverages as well as Chai Teas. Cocktails and beer as well. Their specialty cocktail is a CLEAR ESPRESSO MARTINI! (Reverse distilled-retains taste AND alcohol content but it is CLEAR!) LOVE this place! Staff n my mocha seal the deal! My partner's CHAI was great, too!

Came by with some friends to enjoy their cocktails. Hubby tried their clear espresso martini and I the Moshi Moshi - both were very unique and delicious! Second round we went off menu and bar tender had to look up recipes which is fine but I got something completely different from what I ordered (even though I explained the ingredients). Oh well, what I got was interesting.

My rant..I'm not from the area so I had NO idea what this place was when I walked by. It looked cute so my husband, myself and child walked up the steps and they sat outside while I went to check it out and see if this was a bar/club/ restaurant. I walked inside and instantly got the death glare from an employee. I instantly said omg I take it this place isn't kid friendly.. he rudely said no. I wanted to clarify and confirm even outside ? Usually I don't give bad costumer service a chance.. but I realllllllly wanted a drink that one of those others customers were drinking. If this place had better costumer service. It would be a 5
