Compared to my first visit, this place has really improved! The place has more of a selection, more toppings, more drinks and more food! From all that I've tried from this place, the milkteas will have to be what I come back here for. And most definitely their Rose Milk Tea. My usual is the Lg Rose Milk Tea with large boba. It has a little hint of sweetness, but it's just right. I've already finished a stamp card and got 50% off my fifth drink and my 10th drink free! Also, the servers are always super nice and warm and good service is always a good reason to keep coming back. Although, I still haven't tried their Pate chaud and Spring rolls from my previous review, so I still can't say what my stand is when it comes to their food. Also, still a little bummed about the extra charge for spending less than $10 via credit/debit card. I hardly ever carry cash so it's not something I'm very fond of every time I come here. I originally stopped by here for their Boba tea, which is excellent. I love that they have lots of different flavor and milk options, and that you can adjust the sweet level (I go lowest level so as not to get a ton of sugar and it is still very tasty). After getting the boba tea several times, I decided to try their food. It was skeptical since the place is small and it seems to be more centered around the tea than food. I was amazingly surprised at how delicious the food was. I got Pad Thai the first time and it was a super large portion with lots of great flavor. Some of the best pad Thai I have had in Reno. But the shining star was the pork and vermicelli noodles. Holy moly was that pork perfectly cut and seasoned and the sauce was delicious. This new boba place just opened up 1 minute away from my work! So crazy how I have one boba place next to my house and now one next to my work! I had to check this place out. Located right across from south Reno Target, my first impression was that the atmosphere is so cute! They put in a lot of effort into designing this restaurant. Their menu is very extensive and contains drinks that some can only find in SoCal!! For example they have toppings like egg pudding or almond pudding, which you cannot find anywhere else in Reno! They also have a make your own drink option, where you can choose the level of sweetness and toppings. I ordered the combo with 2 spring rolls (they call it summer roll) and Thai milk tea. I was very impressed! The spring rolls and peanut sauce were very good, and the Thai tea very creamy and delicious (great size too)! For the toppings I got mini boba, which in my opinion is better than normal sized boba cause there's better boba to milk tea ratio when you sip from the straw! For food options they also offer sandwiches (banh mi) and mini meat pies. I have yet to try these. As for the drinks I can't wait to come back and try some of their rare drinks. They do close at 8, which is an hour earlier than most local boba places (9 on weekends). Also, they do charge a .50 cent fee for card purchases under $10, so I recommend bringing cash. But the real star is the shaved snow. There's at least six different flavors and you get two toppings. We tried the honeydew with mochi tonight and it was delicious!! Tastes like melona all shaved up and easy to eat with a spoon. Next time I'm going to try taro with fingers crossed, mochi and condensed milk. Second time in and glad I gave this place another shot. My daughter ordered the honey Banh mi and I had the honey bbq pork With vermicelli. Quite impressed with this little fast eatery and boba drink cafe. They made my Thai milk tea with the soft texture of boba and the strawberry slush that my sone got was really tasty. The only thing I would like to see is the original black tea, which they do not offer. I didn't care for the oolong milk tea. It was not strong enough. The food though, very delicious and awesome price for Reno area. I ate 2/3 of my vermicelli and I was really full. Nice fresh vegetables and awesome portion on meat. Nice, clean little place. I've been twice now and have ordered mango tea with boba and 25% sweet that I loved, then found out there is more caffeine in Thai milk tea so I ordered that the next time. I liked the mango, but loved the Thai milk tea! Prices are very reasonable, less than you would pay for a coffee at most places and the drinks are delicious! The boba is such a fun texture! Stopped by here to pick up some drinks and food. Nice place - clean - great customer service. Drinks ordered: Taro milk tea - I asked if it was made with fresh taro and the answer was yes. Hmm, the color of the drink I received was purple so that seems more like powder to me. It wasn't bad but good to know it is probably not made with fresh taro. Cantaloupe milk tea - I asked another worker if this was made with power and he said yes. It was good though. Food ordered: Combo fried rice - The flavor was really good. It might be spices or something added, but not so typical bland fried rice. Only problem was that it was a bit salty. Summer roll - This was packed with meat and a thin wrapper which did not fall apart. Very tasty but once again, very salty. Vegan roll - We are not usually meatless eaters, but this had a really good flavor and was packed. Same issue - too salty. Honey BBQ sandwich - this was like a packed banh mi. My boyfriend and I had the best experience here. The young girl who attended us was really nice and patient with us considering we were first timers. She also walked us through some of the flavor combinations that go well together. Our drinks were the perfect refresher for the warm weather and the boba was a plus. They have large straws for the drinks that come with boba so that they won't break before you get to have the popping sensation haha. They also have a cough area and games you can use. Tealeaf is the newest boba place in Reno. Decent boba, but I don't think they will be my go-to. Pros: They are in a pretty good location. Their interior is simple and cute, while also having a lot of space inside. There is a couch area near the back of Tealeaf with a shelf cart carrying games. Their staff was polite. They offer the option to add/withhold milk in your drink, as well as different types of milk to add/withhold. They also allow you to customize sweetness, and how much ice you prefer in your drinks.Their menu isn't overwhelming, and their drinks come in a fairly good size (24oz I believe). There is a few food items on their menu, as well as an option for shaved ice. Cons: I felt that their drinks were a bit on the watery side, and the boba was too chewy and not fresh. There's a $10 minimum for credit card purchases, and I was not sure if a rewards program/stamp card exists. Overall, while I feel the quality of their boba drinks is a little lacking, but if I am ever in the area again I'd consider trying something new from their menu. read more

Tea Leaf Cafe located in the Sierra Center Parkway serving amazing Bubble and Tapioca drinks along with delicious food items and daily specials. I've tried a bunch of different drinks from there and they were all delicious and refreshing and I even found my go to drink which is #onoridiculous (hashtag patent pending. Lol). In my opinion, Tealeaf is probably the best place to get boba in Reno. With that said, I feel that they are still pretty average when it comes to their teas and toppings. I've been here several times and both times were both pleasant experiences. They were pretty consistent with how their teas taste and the quality of their boba. The teas taste okay- sometimes a little watered down. The boba itself is always a little overcooked and too soft. The inside of Tealeaf Cafe itself is very nice and clean. It's very wide and they always have open tables to sit down and eat if you decide to order some of their food. Overall, Tealeaf is definitely the spot that I'd go to when I'm craving boba, but I think there's a lot of things they could add or improve. read more

I LOVE bubble tea! It's actually become a recent addiction of mine, that had almost replaced my froyo addiction. I have this thing where I get one dessert type treat each week, and lately Tea Leaf has been calling my name. My favorite = taro milk tea, 50% sweet (although I think I should try 25% bc it's still pretty sweet for me), large boba. This place has some of the best milk tea what I've had in Reno. Things that make a milk tea: many flavors, options to reduce sweetness, fresh soft but al dente boba. This place has it all! And many additional options like slushees, shakes, different milks, etc. One problem here is that they often run out of large boba - of the 4 times I've been here, 3 of them they have been out of large boba. I am not sure how a boba tea shop runs out of their most standard product almost every day, but that's my reason for 4 stars as opposed to 5. This place owes me some large boba! I really like it here! They have a really wide menu, so you are more than likely to find something that you enjoy, and they keep on adding items which is nice! There's also a system of points, so for every drink you get, they give you a stamp, and once you collect 5 you would get half off one drink, and if you got 10, you'd get a free drink. In my opinion, I believe it should be for every 5th drink instead of every 10th, since the drinks are a bit on the pricey side, and you have to spend $50 or more in order to just get one for free. And if you have two cards, they don't combine your points, so you would have to either complete one and start the other, or use them both but in separate purchases. They have great drinks! I've only tried the boba once, and it wasn't my favorite, it was chewy. But their jelly is very delicious, and it comes in many different flavors. (My favorite is Lychee) The drinks are a bit overpriced compared to other places in Reno, and in California. Most of the ones I've been to cost $3 to $3.50, but here, it's around $5.00 to $5.50 since they charge an extra dollar for purchases under a certain amount whether you are paying with cash or not. The food varies, sometimes it has good days and sometimes not so much. Their fried rice was very bland, and it had no vegetables. The BBQ sandwich sometimes differs in size, but you pay the same price no matter what, and the meat that comes inside is stuck with one another, and you can get pieces that are 60% fat. (Speaking from experience) The waiting time also varies. Sometimes, they'll be quick, for example, when there are one or two customers inside the store. But when that number increases to three, and sometimes more, it'll take probably 30 minutes. I had ordered one sandwich that day, and there were roughly three people inside, they had already gotten their orders; and the sandwich took close to 35 minutes to be ready. It wasn't my happiest visit. Overall, it's an okay place, if you live far away from downtown, then this is probably the best boba place in this area. I've been to this cafe a couple of times. Food: Their bbq bowl is a decent size and I appreciate the veggies they put to offset the salty meat. The rice to meat ratio is too high, but I think that's a problem for a lot of places that serve rice dishes. Shaved ice: Sooo delicious, I mean it's hard to mess up shaved ice right??? Service: No complaints. They've always been really friendly and accommodating. Boba: During my first visit, I got the Vietnamese coffee with boba (half sweet)! The boba was overcooked, but the coffee itself was delicious enough to warrant a visit back. During my second visit, I got the Oolong milk tea with boba after work. I thought it tasted off - it was a little tangy - but I thought it was just the type of tea they used. My boyfriend and I shared and finished this drink. However, the following morning, my boyfriend and I had abdominal pain and DIARRHEA :((((( that boba was the only food item we shared the day prior, therefore it was the culprit. It hit my boyfriend worse and he had to call in sick from work. I realized the tanginess might've been spoiled milk.
