The total cost was around $20 for both drinks including tip ((takai des ne?) but the drink were both tasty and like I mentioned, my niece and I are both gaga for boba plus the young ladies behind the counter (one named Jill according to the receipt) were both very nice and pleasant. I ordered my daughter a strawberry popping Boba tea. First thing I noticed was when they got the guys order before us, the cashier held the cups with her dirty cashier finger INSIDE the cup. The same finger holding cash moments before. When I got the order, I took it to my daughter and she took two sips. She realized it had the regular Boba in it. I brought it back and told them they got the drink wrong. First they argued because it didn't still have the paper on it. Such a disappointing experience getting boba at this spot- although maybe I should have known getting boba at a mall could only spell misfortune. To start off, their boba in no way felt authentic but rather mass produced for people who have no idea what real boba is. Coming from Southern California where there boba is basically a pastime I knew better! Their tapioca bubbles were really chewy and poorly cooked- just stuck in your mouth like gum glued to your gums- felt like it had been sitting out for a while and wasn't freshly brewed. Then the flavors are all sickeningly sweet! They don't have any regular milk tea options- they just have all these sweet syrupy options like mango and strawberry. Ended up with a Thai milk tea which was as plain as I could go. Bad boba can be forgiven- but bad customer service cannot! After waiting in a pretty lengthy line we find out there are no medium sizes available (the only options are medium and large). The responsible thing to do would be to indicate on the giant order sign or place a sign anywhere else that indicates customers can only purchase large. Or as a business owner understanding it's not the customers fault- just put a little less tea in a large cup - or any other options available to you. The wrong move is to wait until the customer is already purchasing to tell them they have no other option than to order a large drink. On top of that the order taker was extremely hard to understand and would not take my order down correctly. She had to manually write over my order ticket my order even though it was straight off the menu I made no special requests. My drinks came out sickly sweet too because they didn't ask us for level of sweetness- and I completely forgot to mention it due to being shocked by the lack of quality service. Overall do not go! I will try ding tea in north Reno (a SoCal staple) or 1,2 tea from now on and happily drive an extra 15 minutes just to never have to go back to this place again! read more

Today, we brought in our filled up oyalty rewards card to redeem for a drink. First thing the guy asked was, if the card has their address on it, thinking they are looking for a way out. Then after showing the card, they decided to deny again. A drink that probably costs them 25 cents to make and probably very few people even have any of them anymore. Disgusted, I left. I love this place. Surprisingly enough for being located in the mall. It took me forever to find a Boba shop in town that I enjoyed. I'm a tough critic after growing up with several a stones throw from my house. This shop has super friendly employees who are always patient when a newbie comes in with questions. The lines can grow quite long because they typically only have a few employees. Customers stack up while they make the drinks. Then they knock the ordering line down temporarily and then go back to creating delicious beverages. I always go with milk tea. My only complaint is more jelly options. They only have 1 - assorted jelly. I was hoping to concoct a Thai Milk Tea with coffee jelly but alas I was let down. That's my only downgrade. They have a great selection of popping Boba which is nice. I also wish they had more of the savory flavored like the tea as they have many fruit flavor options. I should branch out when the weather gets warmer and try their tea or ice selections. In the meantime I'll keep delighting my tastebuds with their milk tea. The pricing is pretty steep for a plain Jane drink I got a "dragon" tea with pearls (Half Thai and half regular almond milk) The fast is unfortunately terrible. I wasn't able to drink more than a couple sips. Place is very busy. There's two workers: a cashier and the person making the drinks. Drinks take a long time to make. I waited about twenty minutes for my drink. If I'd known the wait was so long I would have gone elsewhere. My drink tasted sugarless I ordered the papaya smoothie. The tiger milk tea was terrible it was just really thick oily milk no tea at all. The boba melted together in one big glob so you cannot drink it, it was mostly ice. When she handed it to me she said " oh it's cracked" and gave it to me anyways, it started spilling everywhere. I asked for a refund or replacement and they refused, crappy place. In the mood for a little Boba? Wait, first of all - what the heck is Boba?! Simply put, boba (aka the tiny, chewy black balls at the bottom of the drink) is made from tapioca, which is a gluten-free starch extracted from the root of a cassava plant. The actual drink is made from a tea base mixed with milk and flavoring. This little place located inside Meadowood Mall within the food court is great AND they have coconut unlike their other location in Mid Town! The staff is always friendly and they are quick to get their orders out even during their busy times. Consistency of the smoothies is not always smooth...sometimes they get over blended which tends to make them more of a liquid versus being more of a smoothie. That doesn't happen too often but just something to point out. It seems like they did away with a lot of their toppings (by placing stickers over what they use to have) so if you're use to certain toppings at other places; be sure to check out their menu board first. Also, if you're craving that boba, make sure you get there before an hour or so of their closing time or else you might be disappointed to find out that they are out... They only cook so much throughout the day and if it's nearing the end of business hours; they do not cook anymore. If you do get there later, just ask them if they still have boba! read more

As always after my excursions to the bay (because San Francisco is one of my favorite places ever), I always try to find replicates of what I find over there...and Bubble Tea station is literally just that. Exactly the bubble tea you find in the bay, right here in our home town...fun sealed lids and all. Now in my opinion, some of the best places to get loose leaf tea or even try free tea sampling is in Chinatown San Francisco...well, it also just so happens that along those streets, lie Milk Tea shops with sweetened tapioca balls aka Boba, and it's all the craze! I realllly love milk teas. Whether it be Matcha aka finely ground Green Tea or Thai Tea, I love milk teas! The cool thing about this place is their shaker! A special machine that shakes the milk teas to perfection! Finally the teas wouldn't be complete without what makes them unique, the boba. Boba is tapioca, solidified into spheres and then sweetened usually with honey. Chewy little sweet snacks to accompany your awesome milk tea! They also have popping boba that are filled with juice and pop when you bite them. Both are great, but nothing beats a good milk tea with original brown, honey sweetened chewy boba. Well after one of my BOBA loving friends left me a compliment saying that I been slacking on my BOBA Tea joint check in's I figured I'd throw a little monkey wrench in her program and review this BOBA spot I visited on superbowl weekend while I stayed in Reno. So lets see....well here is my review and the impression that The Bubbletea Station left on me..... To be honest this isn't my first time coming to this place, in fact I've been here a few times. Yes at one point of time I wasn't a Yelper....but now I am and its never to late to drop a review on a place that you've been too a couple of times. So why not leave a review? Okay here we go..The Bubbletea Station is located inside The Medowood Mall just before you enter the greater part of the awesome food court this mall has. This little operation sits kinda side by side with a Wetzel Pretzel which makes the ordering a little confusing because often times you dont know which line is for which business....but once you figure it out all systems go. The staff here is pretty friendly and have been the few times I've visited, but they are slower than a snail getting chased by an escargot hunter. Slower than molasses. I've never at any BOBA tea place I've visited here in Cali had it take so long (13 min) just for one boba drink. And the other times I've visitsd I had long waits but this time was asinine and it wasn't uber busy....what up with dat!? Anyway, it was a warm day in Reno, like really it went from being like in the low 60's to the mid 70's and thats a another...."what up with dat!?" so a regular Milk Tea wasn't going to be enough for me this day, a slush perhaps....Yes a Slush was indeed in order. I usually go for the creamy flavors, Honeydew, Banana, Cantalope..you should get the drift by now :-D but today I wanted to be a little adventrious so I went with a flavor I've never had at any BOBA place I've visited. Lychee was what was on the menu today and I figured..why not be extra on the edge and add popping BOBA to it, and why not choose Lychee flavored poppong boba.....BOOM! A true double dose! ($3.50) for a Large Drink and ($.50) for the poppong BOBA with the tax ($.31) it rounded me out to ($4.31) not bad, but that is where things kinda left me hanging. They over blended my drink, and the Lychee mix they used seemed they dumped way too much it. Tasted like I was drinking cold Lychee flavored syrup with the same flavored popping boba which made this drink way to much to take down. Honestly after waiting the time I did and to get what I had got....maybe I shouldn't have ordered this drink in slush form....maybe I should have just got in a regular fruit tea form....well that's for my next visit to find that out. With this one I ended up not finishing it and having to give this one the boot. Wasn't a fan, but in the past I've had pretty good BOBA from them. In conclusion, based off past experiences minus this one.....I'm not going to write The Bubbletea Station off completely, maybe I just came at the wrong time, or I really just ordered something I ultimately wasn't a fan of....at the end of the day I haven't written this place off. Most of it being to the fact that this for the time being is the only BOBA place I know of in Reno for the time being. It's located in a pretty happenin mall in a busy area of Reno with a pretty decent foodcourt. Ot makes this place stand out, once they can get more snappy on the service aspect then maybe from me they would see a re review coming soon. But for now it is what it is. Bubbletea is my weakness. I always go for the milk tea because the "fluff ice" and "snow smoothie" versions are too thick for my liking and "slush" doesn't sound too appetizing to me. After trying nearly all the flavors offered for the milk tea I decided I like the green tea, taro and coconut flavors best! As far as toppings go...BOBAAAAA! There's just something about the texture and taste of boba that complements/completes the milk tea. I do think its somewhat of an acquired taste but man is it good. One time they were out so I opted for the popping boba and I was not a fan. Not only did they taste weird but the popping was disgusting to me! Regular boba please! :) I do like the mochi too it's just harder to pick up with the straws for some reason. I would give this place 5 stars without hesitation if it wasn't for the wait times/staff. 90% of the time they seem understaffed so the line is always ridiculously long and the staff isn't the friendliest (and by that I mean not a single smile sometimes). I understand everyone has their off days but it's happened a few times now... Anyways, I think two people should be there at all times, one to take orders & another to make the drinks. BubbleTea... When I visit family in Reno, I also visit this place! I've been going to this place for 3 years and that's exactly how long they've been open for business. Honestly, If you're a boba snob i'd say don't be so harsh on a boba gem like this. I live in California and SOME not all of the boba here just doesn't cut it. For a boba place that is located inside the mall, I give it props! I've ordered boba from here on the good days and bad days...and i mean when there isn't a line versus a huge line!! There has been so much progress from this establishment through the years. I really like the fact that they are doing better at having boba consistently and the only reason they run out of it is because they always make sure it's freshly cooked every single time it runs out. They aren't the only shop that runs out of boba...A LOT of places do!!! i'd doubt a place if they never run out of it. I LOVE that the boba is in clear sight and it's in a warmer which keeps it from getting hard or too mushy. The boba is sweet and chewy, sometimes there's an oopsie but not for long. Consistency has been pretty accurate. Now to the actual drinks, They have so many flavors that sometimes it's hard to choose from but i take advantage that they give you the option to mix up flavors on your own. Also the employees are really helpful when you don't know anything or not sure of certain flavors/toppings. Sometimes I just ask them to make me their favorite drink, and they always surprise me with great combinations! The tea is brewed consistently and if you want your drinks to be less sweet or sweeter, just let them know and they'll be glad to do it! My taste buds change and so i'm more for the less sweet. I do enjoy my milk tea with soy/almond milk...NOT A LOT OF BOBA PLACES HAVE THAT OPTION! It doesn't hurt to nicely ask them to replace it if it's not to your liking or even tell them you want to try it first before putting it in your cup to save you the hassle!!! These employees are wonderful, they smile and flirt with you ...i mean haha jk. i meant to say they have a decent conversation with you. They work fast and efficiently. Understand that when they do get busy sometimes they forget to smile because they're flustered and a lot of us customers we get to impatient too. We just got to give them a positive vibe to help them push through their day! I believe that since they make our days a little better with a cup of boba why not give them a smile that will get them through their busy day or even their slow day. And the guy ignored me & the girl said again "it's up to him!!!" And on top of that she is allergic to green tea & I had gotten a similar drink with green tea & he used the same spoon & blender as mine without washing them!!! So my sister ended up feeling sick from it & when she dumped it out she still found pieces of black Bobas because he REFUSED to remake it!!!!!! One of the best tasting bobas I've had! As I drink, I close my eyes and my childhood flashes back. Green pastures, sitting in a red and white picnic cloth, drinking boba. I'm from the Bay Area and we have a good share of good boba places. But Bubbletea does this one right! It doesn't take generic like the chain places, but it has its own taste. Sometimes, the boba does run out like what other people say, but this is OK! I guess you can say their boba is fresh and it does taste fresh. I was able to chat with the owner when it wasn't busy and asked why they run out and she said they cook the bobas in the store the same day and it's sometimes hard to gauge the amount of boba left vs the the time it cooks the boba as they want to make sure it's fresh. Another one is that it takes a little bit longer to make a drink because they don't have pre-made milk tea or pre-made thai tea. i have to say this place is quite impressive, being from the sf bay. Not the best, but certainly not the worst~ The staff were really friendly, wonderful and always held a smile, which made me smile too. (added bonus: cute worker last time i visited). i mean i guess they have a better variety of milk tea flavors than the places i go to for my fix. There were a few drinks that i have never seen before. Also, they make their teas from scratch, meaning no use of milk tea powder. The second time I came here, they were out of the boba, but that's perfectly fine with me. I mean like, despite the name, i think what matters is the taste of the milk tea itself.
