Golden Tea has become one of my favorite boba places to go to in Reno! Every time I crave boba, I want their Crème Brûlée Latte! I tried it because it is one of their top 10 drinks. I assume it would be overly sweet and would not like it, but I was surprised. It had a great crème brûlée flavor and just the right amount of sweetness. I became obsessed afterwards. I do not usually have a favorite or go-to boba flavor, but this drink specifically from Golden Tea has made my cravings for boba worst because i want to drink this all the time now. Their service is always quick and the quality has continued to improve every time I visit. When I get it delivered through Door dash, the quality is still top notch! Golden Tea is really nice during the summer time especially when it's in stock with its vanilla ice cream. The service overall gets slow some days and sometimes the taste of the boba you order is never the same but still delicious. The vibe feels pretty basic overall. read more

I was coerced by my kids to stop by Golden tea after Fro-yo a few days ago. It was my first visit and I impressed by their menu. The young lady working was informative and very friendly. I was bummed they were out of tapioca pearl boba and that their soft serve machine was out. Taro soft serve closer to home, yes please! We settled for their golden honey boba. We ordered a Golden milk tea with oolong and three taro milk tea 25% sweet with Golden honey boba. Our wait time was a little longer than we're used to, but our drinks were awesome! This shop is cute and one thing I loved was the free drink if your name is... board. I love that I'm able to order for delivery from here and we'll definitely be back. Golden Tea Cafe is open for late night boba in the Sparks area and their tea and boba quality was pretty good for Reno. I ordered an Oolong Milk Tea with Soy Milk as a plant-based, non-dairy option. They already use a non-dairy creamer but I usually stick with a plant-based milk to avoid the extra added sugar and potential milk derivatives (I know... definitely misleading packaging sometimes). Drink was good overall and I was surprised that the golden boba here didn't stink like I had tried at a different spot. This means they know how to prepare their drinks well. TLDR: Not my cup of tea.... Hah! I'm not even comparing to the Bay Area. We loved the customer service. They don't normally make hot milk teas, but they made it custom for my wife. That's so nice of them. She ordered her usual... classic milk black tea zero sugar, hot. I got the peach green tea. The reason we're giving it 3 stars is because the tea tastes... strange. Both our drinks, even though one is black and the other is green. Maybe it's the tea leaf they're using? or the way they brew their tea? It just tastes odd... I don't know how else to describe it. I left an amazing review a couple years ago, but now as time has moved on this place SUCKS! They are so inconsistent with their hours not only that but still are "open" on DoorDash/pick up while the store is closed in person.. then DoorDash/pick up does not allow you to cancel the order and get refunded so not only are they not even working they are also stealing your money!! it makes no sense.. not only that but last time I actually went in the Boba itself was very hard and impossible to chew .. The workers are always just sitting at the Customer tables doing homework or even working for another company on their laptops.. They are not friendly. I will be very honest as my first impression of this place was disappointing , but only due to the drink I ordered: A Vietnamese coffee no boba. If there is a boba place or any drink shop that offers Vietnamese coffee, i will always order it to try it. But when I ordered the drink , it was not it. For me, it was just way to thick and strong that it was not drinkable in my opinion and I ended up throwing the drink away after a few sips. BUT, I came back a second time as I was in the shopping plaza and wanted a drink. I ended up ordering their Sea Salt Coffee with boba.... I LOVED IT. My ultimate favorite coffee (besides a vanilla latte) is Sea Salt Coffee and Golden Tea Cafe's Sea Salt Coffee was sooooooo good. If you have ever been to 85 degree bakery and cafe in Southern California, had their Sea Salt Coffee, I would say Golden Tea Cafe's Sea Salt Coffee is VERY similar. With the boba, it is even better. The shop itself is very modern and cute. It's a little hidden in the back near the old Gourmelt shop and Nektar but when driving Los Altos Pkwy you could see where the shop is. Overall, they offer other drinks i have yet to try, but hands down I will be back for their Sea Salt Coffee as I am over the moon to find a place that sells it and is similar to my favorite shop in SoCal. read more

Two young women were working that day, and they made our drinks with such skill and care that they were absolutely perfect--balanced, refreshing, and delicious. I was really impressed and excited to return. Unfortunately, my recent visit on a Thursday around 12 PM was a major letdown. We ordered two drinks, and this time, the quality was far from what I remembered. The drinks were extremely bitter, and even though I didn't ask for any customization, they gave us hardly any ice, far below the standard amount. The drinks also lacked creaminess, making them feel watered down and poorly made. It was clear that the attention to detail and quality I had experienced the first time just wasn't there. Golden Tea Café has the potential to deliver amazing drinks, but the inconsistency is disappointing. I hope they can return to the level of excellence I enjoyed during my first visit. read more

I got something with Lychee, my wife got a Taro and we got the Classic Milk tea for our friend we were visiting. Pricing was decent and the flavors were on point. The space was nice. Stopped by to get some boba since I was in the area! I like how they have a rewards program. It's very easy to sign up and when you do, you get some credit to put towards your first drink. It's linked to your card/number with the Toast app. I ordered my usual Passion Fruit tea. No complaints about the flavor. It's around the same price point as the other boba places in town. They only have one size for the drinks so no need to upgrade to a large for me, which is a plus. There is plenty of parking outside and seating inside the cafe. I'm so glad that I finally got to try this place out. I tried a couple different drinks (but only 1 pictured) and I was blown away by how delicious the drinks were. Strawberry Lychee Green Milk Tea (pictured): This one was my favorite drink out of the bunch. The lychee and strawberry flavors were dancing happily in my mouth. The crystal boba added a different texture that I enjoyed. The flavors just blended together so beautifully. Golden classic black milk tea with egg pudding: Tastes like a normal black milk tea. I thought the egg pudding could've used a little more sweet flavor to it. It didn't really taste like anything. Matcha milk tea with matcha creme: This drink is for the matcha lovers for sure. The right amount of matcha flavor in the milk tea. Matcha has such a strong flavor profile, but it wasn't overpowering in this drink. Caramel frap: My least favorite out of the bunch. I didn't like the texture. I wished it was a bit creamier. Couldn't really taste the caramel flavor. Looks like I'll be making more trips out to the Spanish Springs area just for their delicious and refreshing drinks. read more

Really great teas, my boyfriend and I frequent here quite a bit. Lovely waiting area or place to relax and drink your tea. Good customer service as well. The only reason for 4 stars is because we've really been wanting to try the soft serve ice cream and every time we go the machine isn't working, so we finally asked if they have an estimate of when it will be working and they said no clue. I've been here twice since they've opened. They're very quick and kind at this boba location. If it wasn't so far, I may consider going more frequently. The music and decor add a nice vibe while waiting for your drink (but honestly, the music genre could be different on your visit depending who's on shift and DJing the iPhone connected to Bluetooth lol). So, as far as the drinks- I've ordered quite a few different drinks between myself and my family. I have not been dissatisfied with any of the drinks. They've all been good flavors! My daughter ordered a peach juice with boba and I ordered the peach slush drink. They both taste great. When I checked in with Yelp it gave me a free topping. Don't be fooled by the 4 1/2 stars on Yelp. Since relocating to the Spanish Springs area. This is the go to place for your boba needs. Went in to get some boba and the main register machine was down, the nice employee explained and apologized and said I could place my order at the kiosk. After putting the drink orders in, I was able to use my card to pull up my rewards program and got my points! The fact you can customize your boba the way you want, the fact you can tell the pride of ownership in the ambience of the location and the staff. It was just a good experience. One of our favorites tea places! The drinks are phenomenal. They have a wide variety of teas and flavors to try. The crème brûlée latte is one of a kind and unlike anything I have tried before, it isn't actually tea though so be aware of that. There is plenty of room inside to sit and enjoy your tea. The staff are normally pretty awesome! We have had a few negative experiences with a staff member, we go about once or twice a week since it has opened so we still love it. I am SOOOOO happy there's finally an amazing boba tea spot in reno/sparks! I lived most of my live in california and was always spoiled by a huge variety of boba tea, and so I've tried many different spots. Believe it or not but there is "good" and "bad" boba, and it can vary depending on tea flavors or the boba itself having a weird consistency. I've always preferred my boba to have a sweetness to it, and a good, non soggy, chewy texture. I've been to this spot 3 times within the past 2 weeks already and they haven't disappointed. They actually have adequate seating too. I really love how I can adjust the sweetness to the drinks. Not many spots in Reno have that option and it reminds me of all the quality boba drinks i've had in the bay area :) their crème brûlée and strawberry lychee drinks are SOOOO YUMMY! I also love that they have a rewards system set up :) the gals that work there are super friendly.
