I've had other locations in California, but this location just seemed to have poor quality and confusing new drinks that deviated from the Ding Tea drinks I'm used to. We ordered the strawberry condensed milk smoothie and thought it tasted dimensionless and artificial, while the lychee smoothie was completely flavorless and looked/tasted just like ice. Popcorn chicken was decent, but contained a lot of small fried pieces without much meat. I like their variety of drinks here and how they offer small bites. They were a bit pricier than what I'm used to paying for boba or milk tea. My kids are obsessed. Since we were already next door at Port of Subs, we stopped so they could get their fix. Service was friendly and fairly quick, but we were the only ones in the store besides another patron we saw enter the restroom when we arrived. I tried Ding Tea over 3 years ago and ordered a Matcha Milk Tea with boba. It was watered down, had too much ice, and no matcha flavor. The prices for a regular and large was more expensive than all the other boba places in town so I never went back after that time. After so many years, I decided to come back and try their drinks again. This time we ordered the Crème Brûlée Monster Boba and Matcha Milk Tea with boba. The Crème Brûlée was too sweet for my taste, but it wasn't bad. The Matcha Milk Tea was great! It had a good matcha flavor and was not overly sweet. The boba is on the softer side though most likely being overcooked. Both drinks are still more expensive than other boba shops, but the drinks are improved from the first time I tried them. There is an iPad inside for self ordering, but it is faster to order at the counter. The staff were quick in preparing the drinks. The area is not very large, but there are tables and a cute bench with a background for Instagram pictures. I will probably come back and try the other flavors. read more

There are many shops you can get tea from and several have boba as well. Come to think of it, maybe I need to come up with a concoction that can be truly named the Boba Fett!!! And I think I may have found the way based on menu choices. The flavors are strong - be ready for that. But it's not so overwhelming you won't appreciate it. TL DR: Ding Tea is a pretty good place for milk teas. I like the taro milk tea at 25% sweetness. Because the location is smaller, seating options are more limited. I didn't get anything with boba this time. The garlic butter popcorn chicken is okay. Ambience: 4/5 There's no decor or theme that's going to take your breathe away but that's not what you're expecting when you're going to get boba. The seats and tables were clean! The music was a little bit louder than what I would have liked, it made it hard sometimes for us to hear each other when speaking. But I did enjoy the mix of k-pop throwbacks. The building itself is smaller than some of the other boba places in Reno so if you're expecting to have a large party this isn't going to be the location for you. However, there are a few small tables and chairs placed throughout. There's also a neon sign and flower/grass wall where you can take a cute photo. Service: 5/5 Everyone there is super friendly. I went with a friend who was looking for suggestions and everyone there was very patient. They took the time to listen before offering suggestions. Every time customers had questions they answered them without attitude or annoyance! The service was also quite quick and we didn't have to wait too long for drinks and food. Taro Milk Tea: 4/5 I got the taro milk tea at 25% sweetness. It was pretty good. They nailed it on the sweetness at 25%, not too sweet but just enough. I couldn't give it a 5/5 as it wasn't the best taro milk tea I've ever had. Price is on par with what most places are charging now. I paid ~$5.25 for the smaller milk tea size. Garlic Butter Pop Corn Chicken: 3/5. I'm normally a fan of garlic butter pop corn chicken. I appreciate that it was fried fresh but I had a few pieces that were a little overcooked. The butter and garlic sauce was also heavier than other places that offer a garlic butter flavor. The chicken was still edible, but I think the salt and pepper option may be better. Overall, if you're looking for a place for reliable milk tea I think this could be a great option. Came in mid-week morning, right before they open. The staff is very friendly, and helped me with suggestions to try a new drink. I choose the popular Monster Boba Latter and added Tiramisu and Golden Boba toppings. Lots of parking options, and the inside is very cute and clean. You have options to sit inside, or even order online to get it delivered. They have milk substitutions if you prefer. Good thing about coming in the morning right when they open so you know your boba is freshly made. I gladly had to wait a few minutes until my golden boba was ready, which I appreciate :) Always come back here for my Boba drink. I think some of the staff are new. It took a bit to have the girl take my order. It is cash only if you go to the register. You can use a credit card at the kiosk. They do make the drinks relatively fast if you order there. I think a delivery driver was waiting a bit for an order, and she was kind of rude to the workers. This is a long overdue review but Ding Tea is another great boba option in the Northwest! We went a few times when they first opened and of course the line and wait was incredibly long but it was worth the wait. The boba is always cooked perfectly which is one of the biggest issues with boba shops in Reno. Like most places you can customize ice, sweetness, and select from a plethora of toppings. I'm typically a milk tea loyal but the fruit teas here have got me branching out! Try a guava green tea, made slush, with aloe vera. SO good on a hot summer day! Otherwise you can always count on the signature milk tea, thai tea, taro milk tea, or wintermelon milk tea all with their golden boba (and maybe some egg pudding). Once they introduced the online ordering it made it a much better experience: not having to wait in line in the very tiny shop, especially during COVID times. While it hasn't happened recently, in the earlier days there was always something wrong with our order. Wrong/missing topping, forgotten sweetener, wrong size, missing drink etc. Since it had only just opened and was very busy I didn't want to be too quick to judge but it was frustrating that it had happened so many times. Friend and I ordered drinks at work for a quick "pick me up". Ordering online was super convenient and easy: you have the same options to pick your drink, size, toppings, add ins, sweetness level and ice level. I ordered a regular "Creme Brûlée Monster Boba with 25% ice and 25% sweet. The appearance of the drink was cute and fancy, you can see the layers with the boba at the bottom and cream cheese & sugar on top. My favorite part of a boba drink is always the end, when you get the last of the boba and then what made this drink special was the torched sugar from the top. I gave this drink a 3 because it did not have any flavor to me like a creme brûlée would normally taste and i'm not sure if this has anything to do w the sweetness level I chose but it just tasted like a semi sweetened milk. I actually went two Days in a row! Show how good it was. The first visit in ordered a Signature Milk tea with crystal boba (thank you Yelp !), as well as a Brown Sugar Milk tea for a family member. I went as a walk-in, and there were a few people waiting for their drinks to pick up. Luckily I went at the right time as right afterwards there ended up being 4 additional people trickling in. The large had a great portion and I found the milk signature tea to be perfect, not lacking in sweetness but not over the top. The Brown sugar we found to be too sweet. In the next day I ordered to go two milk signature teas, after I ordering I received an email that they would be ready for pick up after 20 minutes. Just enough time to get over from where I was. There were sufficient parking spots and the staff were friendly. Finding a decent boba place in Northern Nevada is a little difficult, when you grew up in SoCal and grew up drinking boba. I came on superbowl Sunday around 3pm and it was very busy , but I got my boba in a timely matter. Located by Aldertos and Port of Subs on Clear Acre, it's a fairly interesting spot for a boba joint, but like I said the place was busy. There was a pretty good amount of people in the shop, so if you are cautious about social distancing, you may have to wait outside for a little. The place itself is simple, not very decorated but ... simple. They have huge screens viewing their menu, but I knew exactly I want from my fellow yelpers that have already posted photos of the drink I wanted to try. I got a large Monster Latte boba and luckily with my check in my boba add on was free, which was very nice. From waiting in line to getting my order it maybe took 10 minutes to get my drink. Not bad since it was a busy time, but I was fairly impressed with how fast I did get my boba. The drink itself was seriously good, i expected it to be super sweet , but it really was not as sweet and the boba tasted actually fresh and not like it was just sitting for awhile. To be straightforward, I'm very impressed with Ding Tea and recommend this place highly to all my boba lovers , especially if you were from Vegas or SoCal that has authentic and good boba joints. I'm now craving to go back and try their other bobas, and possibly come out of my comfort zone and try different add ons to my drink instead of boba. It was seriously that good. Pretty good! I was one of the crazies that came on opening day after work and boy, there was a long line. They made it better by giving us some samples of coffee while we were standing outside, which was nice of them. The coffee was sweet and warmed my hands right up. It was pretty busy around 5 pm, I think I was standing outside for 2 hours - for tea! I think the wait was worth it, haha. I am finally able to get my Longan Date tea in Reno! Of course, there was a BOGO for opening day, but since I waited in line for so long, I decided to get three drinks! I got the Passion Fruit Black tea and Passion Fruit Yakult. Both were pretty good, but my favorite was the Longan Date tea. I always order this in Las Vegas from Kung Fu Tea. It tasted pretty much the same, but they only have the hot version. The menu has a typo and it was actually displaying Logan Date tea, without a 'n'. The cashier didn't know what Longan Date tea was, but it was all good, haha. I tried to order food, but they weren't serving any for opening day :( The employees were nice and we got our drinks pretty fast. Wow. Just WOW. This place should write a book on customer service because theirs is FIRE!!! I always love a good floral jasmine tea. I honestly feel that it's really hard to find a good tea with flavor and body. We came in on a Monday around 6pm. We've been to Ding Tea in the Bay and in LV and I appreciate the consistency with tea flavor. Today, we ordered the Jasmine tea with sea cream and the Wintermelon with egg pudding. The Wintermelon was flavored perfectly at 75%. When I got my jasmine tea, I was excited and hopped in the car and headed out. It wasn't until my first sip at the light when I realized, I didn't taste any sugar. I had to try it again in case. Weird. I wasn't going to turn around but I was already having a day and I needed to have this be good. LOL Who better to save the day (no really) than the customer service here. They remade my tea to my liking and I even learned a tip to ask for the "milk tea" sugar for more sweetness. I'm so happy with the girl who helped me! I've tried many drink combinations there and now I would say Jasmin green iced tea with mango stars and golden boba is my favorite. The boba is spot on and never taste old compared to other restaurants . They now have a sign on the door for happy hour Mon-Wed 3pm-6pm if use the kiosk and the code provided. They also have a points system there for every order you can rack up points for a free drink ! Seems like I go 2-3 times and I have a free drink by the end of that.
