When we arrived, the place was super dark, but I loved the cute decor and the unique look. Food was bland and unremarkable. No chips and salsa (which is fine I guess), no Dr Pepper, and the $19 brisket tacos were small with no seasoning. The menu is completely different from what I saw online. It came at 1757...20 minute wait for water. If we had 10 stars here on Yelp, then 10 Stars it would be for this restaurant. The moment u arrive outside it's a friendly service. The greeters at the door, service. Wow, wow, wow! Inside is so beautiful, cozy, a little bit of home, meets I have friends over for dinner. It wasn't like an upscale Mexican restaurant at all. The restaurant has the feel of a Latin America vibe with the food and drinks they serve. My server Thalia was super sweet and awesome. Another 10 Drinks 10 out of 10. If I could give this restaurant less than zero stars, I would. Our experience was nothing short of disastrous from start to finish. We had a 6:45 PM reservation, well before the peak dinner rush on a Saturday. Upon arrival, we were informed that our table wasn't ready because the previous party was still paying their bill. Fair enough--we were told it would be 10-15 minutes. However, after one drink at the bar, I asked for an update and was then told the kitchen was "backed up" and it would be another 30 minutes. Keep in mind, the restaurant opens at 5 PM, and they had only seated their first round of reservations. How can the kitchen already be overwhelmed? By this time, it was 40 minutes past our reservation, and we had tickets to a comedy show at 8 PM. Trying to stay patient, we asked the hostess if we could sit at one of the five empty tables near the bar due to our time constraint. Instead of accommodating us, they seated our group of four at a small two-top table. Again, we kept our composure, paid our bar tab, and moved to this less-than-ideal seating arrangement. Once seated, we immediately placed our dinner order, hoping the food would come out quickly. Another 30-40 minutes passed with no food. We repeatedly asked our waiter for an update, and after another 10 minutes with no resolution, we decided to cancel our order since we were now at risk of missing our show. What happened next was shocking. Instead of apologizing or attempting to make the situation right, the waiter had the audacity to bring us a bill for the drinks we'd ordered while waiting at the table--even though we had already paid a tab for our first round of drinks and queso at the bar. When we raised the issue, the waiter called over the manager, who--astonishingly--needed us to explain the situation from the beginning. Shouldn't a manager be aware of how their customers are being treated? After over an hour of waiting, we left the restaurant having eaten nothing but queso. The lack of professionalism, accountability, or basic courtesy from the staff and management was appalling. Even as we walked out, we overheard another group behind us complaining of the exact same issues. This was one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. The staff and manager showed zero remorse and made no effort to rectify their mistakes. They didn't even offer to refund our first check. I will never return, and I would urge others to avoid this poorly run establishment. read more

We ordered a skinny marg, a spicy marg and a strawberry marg and all three of them tasted like pre made margarita mix that you buy in a plastic bottle. They were so bad that we didn't even finish them and just went down for our reservation. Once we were seated, we told the waitress about our experience and she immediately brought the bartender over and asked us how we would like our next ones made. Even though this was great customer service, the next round of drinks was just as bad. The bartender came back over and assured us that he wanted to make a drink that we would love so he made us new ones, for the third time. The third round was just as bad as the first two. We ordered the queso and guac while we waited on our drinks and loved the queso! We crushed the whole bowl in 2 minutes. After our third round of drinks came out, we just realized that this probably wasn't the restaurant for us. So we cut our meal short and asked our waitress for the check. First time here! We went on a Saturday night and we were afraid we won't be able to get in because we didn't make a reservation. However, the hostess directed us to go to the bar and we'll be assisted by the server soon and YES we were greeted, shortly after. We sat on the rooftop bar, great atmosphere with a great view. We weren't super hungry so we ended up just ordering chips with queso and fajita. The food was super delicious with a tint of a special flavor from the meat and vegetables of the fajita that wasn't out of line. It was a Saturday night and I saw how busy of a night it was. However, one thing I wasn't too happy was that the server came by often despite how busy it was but not once was she able to take a look at my cup and see that I was out of water. I had to ask to have my glass refilled because she couldn't notice. Although the food was on point, due to lack of service, I would give a 3 star instead of 5. Went for a work dinner. The decor is amazing. That's where you'll be most impressed. The food is ok. Ceviche was fresh, lightly seasoned--too lightly for my taste. Guacamole also tasted like just avocado. Octo was my favorite dish--perfectly tender, sauce and olives went perfect with it. Short rib was tender, but mole was painted on basically a cube of meat. Not enough sauce!!! Pineapple cake dessert--the cream and pineapple with brûléed sugar was delicious. The cake tasted dry and stale. Service was strange. Waiter announced one of the drinks we had ordered would be unavailable while continuing to walk at full speed across the room. Did not ask if we would like something else or even stop to face us. Similarly half way through taking entree orders he walked away to talk to another staff person and then returned without so much as an apology. They have complimentary valet, and the ambiance is amazing with beautiful art, low and moody lighting with plenty indoor/outdoor seating space. The location itself is beautiful on the inside. We sat downstairs for dinner, and once we finished was able to head to the rooftop for the party. I understand that it's summer in Texas but the restaurant is HOT. They advertise as "indoor seating" but it's really a covered patio with no central AC I'm assuming. our whole party was sweating. We asked if we could move tables, they said no. We ended up leaving before we even ordered food. Their fountain was broken and leaked water all over the floor (it's VERY dark in there. Someone could've slipped) and my gown got soaked. We were with a wedding party. The server was very nice but you'd think that with the issues we were having, she could've escalated to management but they didn't. Update 2/14 I finally decided to give this establishment another chance and take my partner there for valentine's day. There was a preset 3 course menu with a few selections for the first course , second course , and dessert. Upon entering the restaurant it seems the hostess table was in a frequent rush which is understandable due to it being busy. We were immediately seated in an area outside the main area which seems like it missed the ambiance of the night. Our server was amazing and very attentive he even escorted me to the restaurant to show me the way. The food was very very subpar and simply bland. For it to be $85 per person I expected more. Somethings were room temperature and not served hot and somethings just seemed rushed as if I were at an all inclusive resort buffet. The drinks were definitely the star of the night. The pours were generous and the drinks were refreshing. Whoever the bartender was for the night I could definitely tell they knew what they were doing. I really wanted to love this place. We came on a Thursday to try out their date night special dinner for two. Upon arrival we were sat in a small table away from their beautiful courtyard. For a drink I ordered the Deseame. When the waitress was going over the ingredients of the Deseame drink she stated that Aguardiente Antioqueño was from Brazil, which I immediately corrected her and told her she was not correct because Aguardiente comes from Colombia. She then asked me if I was sure? Which I immediately told her 100% because I am Colombian. She apologized and I also understood that maybe this was not her fault, and more of a training issue. However after this I did not want to get any more drinks. I was afraid to ask for the Maluma Baby and her tell me that Maluma is also from Brazil. The drink was good but definitely not very strong. The Caesar salad came out and it was just okay. The Parrillada was very delicious. All the meats were very flavorful, but my favorite was the sausage. The Parrillada came out with rice, beans and tortillas. It was all good but the rice was absolutely delicious. We upgraded our dessert to get the flaming Skull and it was really awesome and delicious. However we had told our waitress that we were getting the skull when we ordered the food and it still took about 20 minutes to get to our table, so definitely keep that in mind. If I could give 0 stars I would. I went to celebrate my 18th birthday party. First of all, our server took 45 minutes to actually take our orders and pay any mind to us. Then, the server (Gabby) offered me a birthday shot (non alcoholic of course) and never mentioned anything about it costing extra. When we got the bill, I was CHARGED 6 dollars for 3 ounces of juice. We also asked if we could split the bill because there was only 8 of us. She said we could not but on the website, it mentions that only parties of 12 cannot split the bill. We were then charged an extra 30% gratuity after tipping, even though they messed up 2 of our orders. One of them was supposed to have been modified for my friend's allergies, which we communicated beforehand and they still messed up which is a safety issue. After this fiasco, she moved us from our table to the bar for a 15 top to come in. While the large party table behind us had been there longer and our table could only fit 11. She sent us to the bar and said we had "special permission to be there". When we go to the bar, we received dirty looks from the bartenders. Some other bartenders come in and tried to id us and we told them we were told to sit here, and insisted we were not ordering anything at alI. More came in and even said out loud "what's up with these young girls at the bar??" This was just rude since we were kicked out of our table and told by our server to sit there .
