I called to make an appointment and went in later that same day to get a fill. The lady who worked on my nails was fantastic-very thorough in her work and careful to make sure the art was perfect. I've been getting pedicures my whole life and I can say without a doubt the worst pedicure I've ever had!!! Not only were they slow in getting started with meant a rushed service, but I came home and had to fix the whole thing. I asked for a tip on my big toe since I had stubbed it low. The girl didn't know how to do it and even said she didn't but proceeded to do it any how. She kept burning me with the file. She made me bleed by digging the side my mail down so low. At home I had to file my nails they were so bumpy and sharp. All different lengths and shapes and she didn't do anything to my cuticles or calluses at all. Not only that but two days later I couldn't even walk my toe got the worst infection I've ever had. I couldn't Walk for days almost a week. It's been almost a month and the toe still hurts. Almost all my gel polish has come off as well!! Just horrible all around!! read more

I've been looking for a new 'nail home' for a couple months, and really like this place. I've always received good service. However. The reason this isn't 5 stars is because the last time I went, they insisted on not giving me what I wanted. I asked for a full manicure, removal, and new dip. I had a special evening coming up, and wanted to get in a little pampering. They said my cuticles didn't require a manicure, and I could get by with a fill. It's nice that they steered me to something cheaper, but it wasn't what I wanted, or asked for, and they really didn't seem to 'get it'. I have been using dc Nails for over a year now. Today I had an appointment for a fill and gel; my daughter had an appointment for a new set. our appointments were at 3, mine with Chi and my daughters with Tony. Upon arriving Chi said she knew nothing of our appointments and Tony didn't work there anymore. She did my fill but had to reschedule my daughter. Something was off! My appointment was at 3 and I was home (10 minutes away) by 3:25. Worse service I have ever had at a salon. my nails look nice but not sure they'll hold up. My daughter said she's not sure she's going back. And, my other daughter just had a manicure with Tony on Friday and he told her he'd see her next time. We went pass this new nail salon and decided to try it since it was open but not busy yet. It is beautiful and clean! Super compliant with all the new safety protocols. The owners were working and they are so nice and did great work! They have multiple pedicure and nail services. A basic pedicure is $25. We had the deluxe pedicure for $35 and it was amazing with hot stones, paraffin wax, and rubbing. I did not try the nail service yet, but they had everything on the menu you could want. Gel, acrylic, dip nails! Lots of colors as well. I highly recommend this salon! Great service, kind owners, a fair price, and also so nice and clean. read more

I went in with my natural nails growing out and to do a full set they need to be trimmed, when they trimmed my nails down there was two nails he trimmed down really far. After he put the acrylic on every nail was a completely different shape (did not even look like the same hand) when he was doing the final filing around my nails he used the drill yo file underneath because too much acrylic went under and was on my skin, he ended up cutting my skin in multiple spots. Once I got home I washed my hand because they did not have me do that and I could feel the cuts stinging. I was thinking maybe my fingers were sensitive so I gave it a day then called them the following day yo have them removed and asked for a refund. They advised to me that the owners were on a trip then I called the beginning of the following week and now they are out of the country. Also they use all the same tools from one person to another and nothing g seems clean. read more

Update: I have discontinued going to DC Nails. My husband made us an appointment a week in advance for 2 pedicures and a fill for myself. They double booked us and Tony asked if we would wait because the other party (who wasn't on the books, and just said she made an appointment) was "very mad at him ". So we waited 45 minutes after they had already started doing our pedicures, yes he pulled the 2 girls who had already started our pedicures to help the other party. Once he was done, he started on my pedicure and it was rushed and not the package that I had asked for. Tony forgot about my fill and was frustrated that he was now running behind. Which was not mine or my husbands fault. He rushed through my fill and gel color, I also needed 2 of my acrylics fixed and he kept going back and forth with me on the fact that one of the nails wasn't the same length as the others. The gel was thick and bumpy and looked horrible. I ended up removing the acrylics 5 days later as I couldn't stand looking at them. It makes me sad because Chi is really great at doing acrylics and she is so nice but you have to book her in advance and sometimes that's not even a guarantee. The experience stressed me out and Tony's constant complaining about the other party and being behind just turned me off to ever going back there. read more

had a dip manicure done by tina at dc nails. the base and activators were painted like a 3 year old had done it. just seemed like she didn't care. i left with flooded cuticles and a subpar manicure. less than a week later, one nail had chipped and six others had separated from my nails. i called the salon 7 days after my manicure and spoke with the owner, he said that it's my fault and that it's because i did something to them... basically he told me it's not his problem and that they would not fix them. i've been going to this salon monthly since they opened after the pandemic. but i will not be returning after this experience. another bit of info: the owner completely over books the techs to the point that most of them are working on 2+ people at the same time (and running around frantically). in the experience explained above, we had an appointment for saturday at 5:30 and they didn't start on our nails until 6:30 because they took 5 walk-ins right before we got there. read more

I should've read the reviews. After a long and very stressful work week, I sent my wife here to get a mani/pedi. The manicure went well with a woman but when my wife went to get the pedicure they called for a teenage girl to come do it. Upon walking up, the girl acted very put out to be there. Granted everyone starts somewhere, so my wife was empathetic to whatever might be going on. However, throughout the entire pedicure the girl acted like she didn't want to touch my wife and did the bare minimum for each service offered in the deluxe pedicure. This made my wife very uncomfortable especially when we both hoped she could take one minute out of her workday to have a relaxing moment. Again, my wife continued to give her grace as the girl might be just learning, but this was no longer a pleasant experience. After receiving the bare minimum, my wife went to pay and told the desk she got regular polish nails and regular polish deluxe pedicure, and they charged her for gel. She showed them it was regular polish and they said they can't refund it so she can just forgo the tip! Weird, unfortunate, and unpleasant experience. Reviews looked great and my friends said they do amazing there....they were w r o n g Maybe it was an off day or something but they didn't put the acrylic set all the way to the nail bed so it looks like it's already grown out. They made me bleed because they were too rough with it and hurt my fingers and bend them in ways that they should not be bending. And the nail polish has bubbles in it.
