I heard about Wild Orchid from a social media post and made my way over when I was due for my regular fill. As I do, I had a picture of what I wanted done and they were great to accommodate my request. The environment was calm and relaxing-with large TV screens playing silent images of tourist locations (now I want to go to Costa Rica) and the overhead speakers were playing classical music. Following up 8 months later because my nails haven't recovered fully. About 3 days after having my nails on, I started experiencing burning and itching around my nail beds to the point they were bleeding. I removed my nails but the burning never stopped. Soon my hands looked like they had been burned with the skin around all my nails peeling. I spent 3 weeks with my hands constantly coated in moisturizer, Neosporin, anti-itch and Eucerin. I wore winter gloves for weeks in the middle of the summer just so they could remain moisturized and prevent me from itching. My left thumb nail ended up completely peeling off and too this day doesn't grow back normal. read more

$25 for gel polish!!!! $25!!!! DND gel polish and the regular polish cost $8!!! Valentino gel polish $14!! So $25 for gel polish is just beyond me. I went in with a friend paid for the second most expensive pedicure and my total was set to be $76?!! The price isn't the only complaint but the ladies attending us made us feel so weird for not wanting to get the gel any more so we ended up leaving with no polish at all. They were originally a soft fuchsia but not anymore. A complete waste on $100 per person (mani and pedi). Update: I called them back and since I was in from out of town, they can't do anything, not even a reimbursement or partial refund. Then she said it has to do with being in the sun but when she was doing my nails, she said it could happen from being in the pool. She went on to say that it can happen at any salon and that other customers have complained about this too. I told her I looked it up why my gel/shellac nail color would fade and it has to do with under or over exposure to UV rays. That's the UV light used when curing them, not the sun. My sister and niece both got gel manis and this didn't happen to them and we did the same activities, hot tub, shower, and walking across the street from the hotel to a museum. They are completely unprofessional, blaming their crappy job on anything and everything. They also rushed us when we got our pedis and manis done, picked different colors than what we originally picked, and hustled us the whole time. My poor niece had picked a color for her nails and they put it back and had her choose a different one. They also choose different colors for my sister than what she requested too. And my sister was only going to have her young daughter get normal polish fir her nails since she picks at them and they kept pushing for her to have gel even though my sister said no and explained why. read more

I feel like this is A Tale of Two Salons. Pre-Covid, this place was a 10/10. But now I've been twice, post-covid. The first time wasn't good at all, and the second was a disaster. The staff is all fluent in English, which is awesome. The owner rocks- she's personable, friendly, professional, cares about the health of your nails, and is the sole reason this isn't a 1-star review. But the nail techs... maybe they were feeling the squeeze of going a while without pay, maybe I got them on a couple of very bad days. I don't know. What I do know is that they didn't use to tear off my cuticles, give me uneven French tips, and give weird energy around tipping. I know they used to be the best nail salon I went to, and I hope they will be again; however, if my last two times had been my first impressions, I would never have gone back. read more

I paid extra for an upgraded pedicure. I paid it for the extra massage and callus removal. She did not even massage my legs just rubbed lotion on them. She did not use any special tools or chemical peel for callus removal. She told me to wait over an hour to put socks on. I waited two hours and my nail polish is ruined. The guy asked me upfront about my experience and I told him the massage was horrible and not worth paying the extra $13 from the regular pedicure. I feel taken advantage of. They could have made it right when I was there but they did not. I told them I'm not coming back when they gave me a punch card. I still tipped because I'm not tacky. I, called and made an appointment upon getting to the salon immediately rushed and sat down for what I can call was a wham Bam, thank you ma'am of a pedicure paid for the deluxe, and what I got was some lotion slapped on my legs, a little bit of sugar scrub and my nails painted not once did I get the foot wax that should have come with it and all and all from sit down to done of service was about 20 minutes then as I was trying to get my nails done specifically told her exactly what I wanted exactly the color exactly the style and the shape and ended up with something completely different after I asked her to change it multiple times I said forget it I will go somewhere else and get them fixed. I made an appointment for a dip nail treatment on a Friday after work. I called to let them know I was going to be late due to traffic. That wasn't an issue but then I did have to wait another 20+ minutes when I arrived - my fault! I picked a dip color and my tech went right to work. The color is beautiful. I'm less of a fan of the rough edges and had to clean some of those up st hone. Overall I was pleased with the service and will try again to make sure it is consistent. This is a busy salon with lots of loyal customers so getting a particular tech requires an appointment. Price is on the high end. I had a gel mani when I walked in which required removal. I was charged $10 to remove and $45 for the dip. I don't mind the higher price if it lasts. Time will tell. read more

Came here because the reviews were positive and it was close to our new home. I made an appt (not a last minute walk in) for gel over my natural nails and a cuticle trim. My experience was seriously slacking. She did not ask me what shape I wanted, I had to request her to re-file to a square shape unfortunately taking down more length of my nail in the process and they are still not even. She had some issues taking off the previous gel applied, no problem just a little extra time and maybe thinner nails - not good with natural nails. The gel that was reapplied (same color - black matte) is lumpy, the lines are not straight even after correcting with a brush. Upon checking out I had to remind her that the cuticle trim was not done after she tried to charge me the additional $5 which I don't have a problem with as long as I'm getting what I'm paying for. All in all I might come back for a second chance due to prior reviews and good experiences others have had. Everyone was nice and the place was super clean. I'll update if I do. i came in to get my acrylics re filled, the staff were in such a rush, pressuring me and my mom to pick a color. the floors and walls are disgusting and full of dust. The nail filers look old and not clean at all. while they were filing our nails, it was so painful and it was like they were filing a wall. one of the staff treated my mother poorly and making annoyed faces. the nail polish looked old and my nails look see through with a color that shouldn't be see through. the gel on my acrylics peeled off on 3 of my nails a few hours after I got them done. We will never come back to this nail salon, my nails look terrible. do not recommend coming here, disgusting and not professional at all. not worth spending money for this. read more

I brought my daughter here for her birthday as a surprise. I knew this wouldn't be a total spa experience because this is a salon, not a spa, but I expected a little more - especially for what I paid. From the second we walked in, I felt like we were being rushed. The place was crowded with employees and patrons and felt like a three-ring circus with all those people running around. We had to hurry and pick our polish and we were asked several times if we had decided yet, which made us feel like we weren't going fast enough. When we got to our pedicure chairs, we were handed a menu of services and EVERYTHING was an upgrade. Then the high-pressure sales started. We just got the basic to start but the tech started scolding me about my heels, so much so that I finally gave in and paid the extra $5 or whatever it was for the heel treatment. I got it for my daughter, too, even though she probably didn't need it, just because they kept telling us we needed to. For what I was paying, I expected a bit of a massage, which was even listed on the menu, I believe. But no, just a lot of yelling - "Foot in", "Foot out". Not even application of lotion. Pretty much just the heel treatment that I paid extra for and the polish. Before I got to the manicure table, the tech had told me several times that I should get the gel polish. I finally said yes. And of course it was an upgrade. The whole manicure was very rough. Just lots of jerking my hands around, no massage, no lotion, lots of yelling "Give me your hands", Don't touch your face", then the polish and drying in the light thingy. I gave them two stars because my nails did look nice when I left. Anyway, if you want a relaxing experience, this is not the place to go. Save some money and have a nice experience at Cozy Nails up the street. They do a great job there - and they actually smile!! read more

My friends and I recently went on the hunt for a new nail salon, and Wild Orchid was one of the new places we test-drove. Not a great experience. The owner was really friendly, and made our day really fun, but the nail technician who did my nails was really inexperienced, which was frustrating. In addition, they pushed us all to spend more money on "deluxe" pedicures, and fancier nail designs and products while we were there. I'm not one to fall for sales pressure, but it made us all a little uncomfortable. A week after our appointment, we were all pretty disappointed. Two of us had broken a nail already, while doing things that did not typically lead to broken nails, and my set was already showing more wear than I'm used to a week after a nail appointment.
