I get my pedicures done at both Via Nail Bar locations in Herriman and Bluffdale, and they are hands down the best nail salons I've been to. The salons are always spotless, modern, and relaxing the moment you walk in. The staff are incredibly professional and welcoming, and they consistently do an amazing job. My pedicures always come out perfect! super detailed, never rushed, and they really take their time to make sure everything looks and feels great. The chairs are comfortable, the atmosphere is calm, and the whole experience feels like a little reset for the day. What I really appreciate is that the quality is consistent at both locations. Whether I go to Herriman or Bluffdale, I know I'm going to get the same level of care and attention. Poor service, homophobic atmosphere, poor application. As a stright male, I get my nails done so I don't chew on them as part of my self care. I came to Viava since it was close and had good reviews. After 3 terrible experiences at both locations I will never come back here. Viava's poor service puts the BFE in Bluffdale. The first tech named Helen snickered and spoke to her friends about me in her language the entire time. She didnt say anything to me and I felt like she was shaming me for putting colored paint on my fingernails. The gel lasted a while so 2 stars for that. The second time Mimi 'serviced" me and it was worse than the first time. Mimi was there making comments to her coworkers in her language, only they stopped when I understood they were talking about me. I was getting up to leave and a sweet caucasian woman next to me started talking to me so I ended up staying and talking about our favorite colors. 1 star as the gel did not last as long as he first time. The third time was with Annie at the other location. There were 2 people there on a Saturday which should have been a warniing, The receptionist was kind and helpful and explained things to me. I was interested in someting shiny and let Annie talk me into the chrome. Unfortunatel, Annie did not cap my right fingers so the powder flaked off while i was drivng home. My left fingers were fine but she didn't cap my thumbs either. Upset, I immediately turned around and went back. Annie seemed bothered and simply said my nails "weren't long enough" then why the f did you offer to chrome them? And why is the left side okay? Annie then tried to say it was my fault and I somehow chipped them 7 minutes after leaving the appointment. I do not appreciate being accused of ruining my nails when I take great care of them. Gell will hold up when you are wiping your mouth if applied properly. Annie tired to fix them but she had already sealed the clear over the base so the powder wouldnt hold. To make matters worse, the owner sat and stared at me the entire time with what appeared to be a look of disgust on her face. Photos were taken 5 days after my appointment on Saturday. The left side looks great, the right side looks like a child applied it. If you're looking for a welcoming place with skilled and friendly technicians this is absolutely not for you. I have been a client at Viava Nail Bar for over 3 years and it is the only place I get manicures and pedicures. The level of perfection here with each nail tech is stellar. I often see Hellen or Mimi but I recommend everyone. They offer you a drink if not just ask there very sweet. Always have quick services with high quality products. The interior is gorgeous and very relaxing I enjoy all the pink decor. The owner Nick is the best! Each employee will step up and it is nice to watch everyone help each other out when they need it you can tell they are good friends. read more

Second time, I went back but Mindy was booked so I went with first available tech. Andy did my second set (white nails) and I love the way it looks! Went to the Herriman location* Place looks great but expectations were not it, first time coming in here today and I got a gel mani pedi. The day before I walked in asking the employees if they were able to make a specific design for my mani and they said yes for an additional $20. When I got my pedi it was an amazing service, meanwhile my mani was not the same. I've gone to many nail salons and all of them had me wash my hands within the process but this one did not which I believe was pretty unhygienic. When it came to soaking my fingers I had to place them inside a tiny bowl for which both hands were hard to fit. When it came to my nail design I kept having to ask them to correct it multiple times. It was taking so long and I can tell that the one designing them also didn't want to show me the design because they would show them from afar and quick. Eventually I gave up and just went with the flow of things and I was unsatisfied with the result. When I arrived home I check my nails to notice that they couldn't even make a French tip correct and that they were too lazy to make sure the lengths of the nails were the same. I ended up having to go back because I payed $100+ for the services and the nails I had gotten done weren't worth that price. When I went back someone else took me in and fixed their coworkers mistake for which I appreciate. I would've liked for them to let me know that if they couldn't do the design to just let me know and I would've greatly appreciated doing another one but based upon today's experience I won't be coming here nor recommending this place to anyone. I've had 2 other people do my nails and it was great also. I have been going to Viava nail bar for over a year and have been extremely satisfied with the service. However the last two times that I went there my finger has gotten infected. I went again for a full and then two more of my fingers formed an abscess and they hurt to the touch. I have never had an issue with this before in my life until I got a full set from here. Partner and I stopped in on a whim, trying to find a new nail place closer to us. Overall one of us left satisfied, while the other did not. I got a pedicure and LOVED it. Got their deluxe option and the lady left me longing for my next pedicure from here. Great massages and attentive to what I wanted trimming wise. My partner on the other hand (pun kind of intended) was paired with a younger gentleman for a manicure that really rushed things. First time trying this place with a friend . My nail technician was not the friendliest at all and second the place didn't follow hygiene protocols. The stations that both my friend and I sat at were dirty cover with previous clients nail dust and the tools were not clean proper . They cut our cuticle with a dirty cuticle cutter and just put it back in their cup with all their brushes that were dirty . Also all the grinder tips were not cleaned (disinfected) either.After I left a lady sat in that same spot I sat in and the cuticle cutter was never cleaned . Would not go back . I had such a great experience here! It's a struggle to find a nail salon that is consistent, clean, and doesn't charge an arm and a leg. This spot seems to be on par with SLC industry standards as far as pricing goes, they got me in quickly for a gel mani/pedi, and were super accommodating and sweet. I read a review that said this salon wasn't clean so that worried me initially. But it definitely was clean when I went! If the person was referring to the nail polish stains that were on some of the surfaces, they must not go to many nail salons because that's pretty standard at every salon I've ever been to. Amazing salon!!! I have been to so many nail salons over the years and none of them compare. They do great work and they are very clean. I have been going to them for months now and I used to jump around to different salons trying to find someone that would do what I wanted. They also have many options of nail extensions not just acrylic. They do great nail art too. Kathy is incredible but I have seen others in the salon when I couldn't get in to see her and all of my experiences have been great. I normally get gel nails but have had pedicures there too. They also were very accommodating to me and my son once, they opened the salon early on a Saturday so we could get in for pedicures before I had to leave town. I have been a loyal customer to this salon for over 2 years and I will say that the quality depends on who does your manicure/pedicure. Some are definitely better than others. Last week I received a manicure that was poorly done and the polish started peeling off all of my nails in less than 24 hours. This has never happened to me before. When I called to see if I could get them redone the receptionist was rude but scheduled me for an appointment. When I went in for my appointment the manager accused me of scamming them in front of the entire store. He said I purposely ripped off all of my nail polish because I didn't like the color and wanted a free manicure. It was humiliating. I had been going there for 2 years and have never asked them to fix my nails before. They also charged me to fix them. Yes, it is a cute place but they automatically assume everyone is trying to scam them! Very disappointing. read more
