Disappointed because I'm not one to right reviews. After my workout at vasa next door, I decided to go to glam nails to get a full acrylic set before my weekend plans since I was rushing and didn't have time to go to the nail salon that I normally go to. The lady who did my nails was a little older and didn't speak English that well. There were a few things I did not like. 1. She cut me twice. 2. She didn't ask what length I wanted before making the cut. I had to stop and tell her I wanted it a little longer. 3. I gave her a simple design but lines were crooked 4. Asked her what color she'll be doing for the base since I didn't want my real nail to show...she responded rudely saying "don't worry!" After picking her own color, I asked her to change it because you could still see my real nail. 5. After one week, which never happens when I do my nails, they broke so easily! I'd be doing laundry and the tip would break...some of my nails broke off without even knowing how. This never happens to me. $75 down the drain. read more

I wouldn't recommend this place if you don't like waiting for awhile until you're seated. A man answered the phone when I called to make the appointment for a manicure, pedicure eyebrow for an and nose wax. I told him everything I wanted done (for a special occasion) he assured me they could do what I wanted. So I booked the appointment. The manicure and pedicure went fine, when it was time for the waxing different woman came over to verify what I wanted, as she was the one that would be doing it. I told I wanted the nose wax and she said I don't do that. I explained that I had made the appointment for the nose wax with the man that was actually there , to which she replied, HE doesn't do waxing. Again, I told I really wanted it done, she replied she didn't have the tools, then said it would hurt, (I've had even it done before, there) then she said the lady that does that is on vacation. The shop is clean and doesn't smell at all. I chose to have a mani/pedi done and it was less than $40 before tips..this included getting shellac. Mishie did a great job on my nails! She didn't tear up my feet and was gentle with the callus shaver. When she worked on my hands she didn't go overboard on roughing up the nail so the shellac would stick. No pain and no bleeding cuticles! If you are intimidated or have a hard time with the common issue of "language barrier" PLEASE schedule with Mishie- she is fluent in Thai & English ( no accent at all). OK... so we went to get some pedicures and were hopeful for a good experience. They ran the foot baths and we and picked out color. Before I even start my review, I feel it's necessary to cite the cardinal rule of being a customer: Don't Be An Unreasonable Jerk. That should go without saying, but after reading some of these reviews and watching some of the customers in the salon, I think it may need to be restated. During my appointment, two different clients whipped out their phones to show the poor workers pictures of fantasy nails from their Pinterest boards. "Yeah, I just want you to do something like this." I watched the look of panic spread across the face of the worker as she tried to point out that this was very complicated work and she might not be able to match it exactly, but the customers would not be deterred. Okay girls, let's get really honest. It's UNREASONABLE to expect your manicurist to replicate something from a magazine photo shoot or a trade show, something that probably took half the day to do, in your $30, hour-long manicure. I watched three separate, very, very patient people really try to give one customer the outrageously intricate art she wanted, only to have her complain that it wasn't just right and make them remove the polish and start over. Heaven bless them for trying, but she could not be satisfied. "I'm really picky about my nails" was her only excuse. Well no duh, lady. She was in the chair for over two hours...probably more cause she was still there when I left. Guys, this is not a reasonable expectation! You want "Van Gogh nails" and bottom basement prices. That's a ridiculous expectation. Talk about having your cake and eating it, too! Then there are the negative reviews here on Yelp that ding the salon for the workers speaking Vietnamese. Sigh. You guys. Only two of the six employees in the salon the day I visited spoke what even approaches fluent English. The rest struggled to communicate basic nail-related concepts in broken sentences. Do you really expect them to talk like Tarzan with each other all day? You're worried they're gossiping about you. Well, they aren't--if you're not being a jerk, that is. Lose the thin skin (and the thinly veiled xenophobia). This rant is getting really long, so I'll step off my soap box and do a breakdown for the rest of my review. Here are the reasons I return: - CLEAN - Friendly service. - The owner is constantly offering specials- especially if you book an appointment instead of walking in. -When the employee's give the pedicure massages, they not only feel divine but make sure to do the time listed in the pedicure you choose. - The amount of designs and colors are endless- HUNDREDS of Colors and designs to choose from (Shellac, Acrylic, and regular Nail Polish combined) - If they are running late, they offer some sort of restitution (parafin wax, $5 dollars off next visit, etc.) -They will gladly fix your nails if you happen to pop or break one immediately- free of charge! -Best designs I have ever seen- True Talent. (They have their own designs- or, if you pick something from Pinterest- they WILL replicate it-- and often times even better!) On a personal note: I have seen the owner bend over backwards for customers. I have seen some of the most gracious customers, but I have also seen customers take advantage of the owner's generosity. This includes the owner spending a few hours on nails for a single customer because the customer couldn't decide on a design. If there are negative reviews for this place, please disregard. I've seen people who has unrealistic expectations write negative reviews because of being unhappy. So I specifically scheduled the princess mani/pedi at this salon for the descriptive princess experience as well as two adult pedi n full sets. when we got there they did not even have child pedi/mani tables/chairs. They did not provide any special experience in fact we sat for 30mins past appt time. There was 2 employees there with other clients and when they finally got us back they just painted my girl nails no mani treatment at all. Then proceeded to fill up an adult pedi chair, put my girls in it for 5 mins did a basic massage nail trim and polish. Well I paid 30$ each for this basic polish that could of been 5$ at another salon. The adult pedi was just as basic adding a hot towl with no other options or price so we paid 35$ for pedicures we could of done ourselves. The acrylic nails came out okay despite them stopping several times to get other walk in clients serviced. Not to mention while we were waiting 2 other groups of 3/4 women came in and they quickly got their services started while we waited. A 3pm appt did not finish until 6pm and 240$ later with chipped pedis for all 4 of us n basic polish for the younger girls that smeared as soon as we were in the car. I wouldnt recommend or return. I would rather pay my local nail salon for a basic experience at a better price. Included screen grab of the little princess description that turned out to be just a quick polish. They should not advertise or offer a pampered service to kids if they don't provide any extra treatment. I hav even going to Glam nails to get pedicures for a few years now. The last two times I've gone I've been quite disappointed. The last two time I've heard the same man give me my pedicure and both times he's made my big toe bleed on the side. When he's trimming the cuticle, he must trim too much and then tries to pull the skin off and it bleeds and hurts! I thought the first time it was just an accident, but when it happened again this last time I guess maybe that's just the way he does it ‍. I paid $40 for my pedicure and I don't think he actually massaged my feet...he did massage my calves and leg which is great, but I'd love to also have my feet massaged.
