I came to Viava since it was close and had good reviews. After 3 terrible experiences at both locations I will never come back here. Viava's poor service puts the BFE in Bluffdale. The first tech named Helen snickered and spoke to her friends about me in her language the entire time. She didnt say anything to me and I felt like she was shaming me for putting colored paint on my fingernails. The gel lasted a while so 2 stars for that. The second time Mimi 'serviced" me and it was worse than the first time. Mimi was there making comments to her coworkers in her language, only they stopped when I understood they were talking about me. I was getting up to leave and a sweet caucasian woman next to me started talking to me so I ended up staying and talking about our favorite colors. 1 star as the gel did not last as long as he first time. The third time was with Annie at the other location. There were 2 people there on a Saturday which should have been a warniing, The receptionist was kind and helpful and explained things to me. I was interested in someting shiny and let Annie talk me into the chrome. Unfortunatel, Annie did not cap my right fingers so the powder flaked off while i was drivng home. My left fingers were fine but she didn't cap my thumbs either. Upset, I immediately turned around and went back. Annie seemed bothered and simply said my nails "weren't long enough" then why the f did you offer to chrome them? And why is the left side okay? Annie then tried to say it was my fault and I somehow chipped them 7 minutes after leaving the appointment. I do not appreciate being accused of ruining my nails when I take great care of them. Gell will hold up when you are wiping your mouth if applied properly. Annie tired to fix them but she had already sealed the clear over the base so the powder wouldnt hold. To make matters worse, the owner sat and stared at me the entire time with what appeared to be a look of disgust on her face. Photos were taken 5 days after my appointment on Saturday. The left side looks great, the right side looks like a child applied it. If you're looking for a welcoming place with skilled and friendly technicians this is absolutely not for you. I will never come back to this bigoted and sexist 'nail bar."'

I asked for my natural nail underneath to be filed because I started to have the gap between them. She barely spoke English and when I asked it sounded like she understood what I was asking for... but then continued to do the acrylic and not filed. I asked her 2 more times from the first initial request till the end of service. She did a quick file then put acrylic on the bottom side of my nails?! I asked if this was new because in my 1 year of coming here I have never had that done. It looked super thick and even my husband commented. The acrylic was also thick by my cuticles and I asked for her to thin them out. When it was time for color I asked for French tip but because she layered the acrylic so much the nail color (before polish) was 2 toned and would look horrible as French tips. She got up to go get more acrylic to fix it and I told her never mind just do it all one color to cover it up. I was already frustrated at this point. Before I left I asked again if she would file the acrylic she placed under my nails more so it doesn't look so thick. She did so and did a surface cut on my thumb finger pad because she purposely ran the file over my skin for who knows what reason? While filing she left my index finger raw on the side and made it bleed. Not to mention acrylic is stuck under my nail, attached from nail to skin. The next day it was swollen. I do not recommend coming here, management isn't that helpful either. Manager Steve, when my husband talked to him, said his staff is stupid and are idiots and don't know English. I have been coming here for a year for pedicures and manicures but after this experience I am traumatized from how badly it hurt. Their pedicures aren't that great either, they hurt every time and the male nail tech is not great at all, knows no English and tried to massage your legs by hitting them with his fists. I had one nail that had bent back and was super painful. The nail technician noticed it immediately and was very careful when grinding the nail to not hurt me.
