Visited TBonz Steakhouse while on a business trip and overall had a great experience. Giving it 4 stars mainly due to the atmosphere--the decor felt outdated and a bit worn. The bread seemed more microwaved than fresh, and the sangria was simply wine with ice and citrus slices. That said, the food really delivered. Everything was well-seasoned and cooked perfectly without needing anything extra. The wings were crispy and fresh, and the steaks were cooked just right and generously portioned. I am comparing TBonz Steakhouse to Longhorn Steakhouse on Washington Rd. in Augusta, Ga.. Longhorn Steakhouse has a much nicer facility. The 6 oz. Flo's Filet is a bit thicker than the same cut at TBonz, the taste is superb. The salad at Longhorn Steakhouse beats TBonz hands down. It is in a larger bowl, cut up better in smaller pieces, more tomato, and the bread is better. That just about says it all. Go to Longhorn Steakhouse, give it a try, then post your experience. An older decor with plenty of history and a full bar. We were greeted and told the wait was 25-30 minutes for a party of four. We barely waited 10 minutes when our table was ready. Our server, Katie was great. She took our order for drinks and patiently waited until we were ready to order. My go to is a NY Strip and with sautéd mushroom and onions and fresh green beans. I had dinner at the bar of TBonz while in Augusta on business. I ordered the large prime rib with beans and mushrooms as sides. Overall the food was disappointing. The prime rib was very tough. I make prime rib at home and I would guess they didn't cook it low and slow, which meant it wasn't tender. That or the quality of the meat was poor. Or both. As for the sides, the green beans were good when salted. But the mushrooms had a bad flavor. I wouldn't recommend them. The service at the bar was good. The bartenders were attentive. The service was timely. The steak and sides, iced tea and tip was over $60. I don't think this was a good value given the quality of the meal. I would not return here. read more

Had a great experience at Tbonz with some friends. We all ordered steaks of different cuts and we all agreed that they were excellent. I had the 6 oz filet with green beans and loaded mashed potatoes, which was very good. The bread was warm and fresh and the sweet tea was perfect. Went with a large group of friends. POSITIVES: Waitress was nice and friendly. Good service. Tommy Fries were tasty (not healthy but tasty) and Spinach Dip was really good. NEGATIVES: Ordered the "Phil's Filet". Definitely not your typical Filet "Mignon". Like other reviews, it was really thin for a Filet. It was not round like a center cut Filet should be but was rather triangular in shape. Tasted so much like a sirloin. Being so thin, there was no pink inside as I ordered it medium. Wish I had taken a picture of it. So disappointed.... considered giving a 2 star rating. But had a good time with friends. Two others ordered prime rib which looked wonderful. We had a big party for my church for Valentines, and it was awesome. WheN I say it was great service, I really mean it. They were always attentive and asking what we needed, and not once did we have to ask for anything. For us, being a party over 20, it was an amazing service. I give props to our servers. The food was ok for us. My ribs had a flavor I wasn't a fan of, and the ribeye was ok, too. It gets a 5 start because of the service and waiters. I went last night and ordered the tbone cooked medium. It came out rare, had to send it back. The steaks have no taste and they're tough. My friend got the ribeye and it was the same, no taste and tough. Very expensive, plus they charge an extra $1.50 for salad. The service was good in the beginning but then the server never came back. The atmosphere is horrible. Don't waste your money on time going here. Go to outback or longhorns. I am a big believer in supporting local but I'm not going somewhere that has terrible food and service. read more

My husband's ribeye was cooked perfectly medium well. The crust was crispy and peppery. He asked for extra butter on his potato and it was practically swimming in butter. There were a few hiccups with getting someone to take our order and for the food to be cooked. The hostesses noticed and took our drink order and the waiter who took our order didn't communicate with the kitchen. After 38 minutes we finally got out food after some apologies and some bread. We didn't care much because we had an exciting day at the tournament and the ppl watching was fun. Everyone else's food came out very quick. So service is normally quick. Sat at the bar during Masters week. Prices jacked up drastically for the Masters but still packed. My 8oz filet was average at best. Thinnest filet I've ever seen and it probably 6oz at the most. Disappointing since it's $44 with a baked potato. No bread, no salad, no veggie unless you want to pay another $8-$10. Drinks were good but way overpriced. Service was friendly and fairly prompt. There were so many people there, and Christmas parties being had, so I thought it had to be good. Again, highly disappointed. It was the perfect balance of creaminess to savory, and our entire party loved it. Also highly recommend the wedge salad! It is a fun and innovative take on the traditional salad, and I think they do it well. However, my actual main dish I felt was a bit dry and overcooked. The meat to bread ratio was ok, but because of how dry it was, I felt the overall dish didn't come together that well. My wife ordered the filet and was pleased with it but, my ribeye was tough yet very fatty. Not well marbled, but fatty and yes there is a difference.
