Consistently great food! We don't go very often; but when we do, I've never had a bad experience. The fried shrimp are always seasoned well & tender. Jalepeno hush puppies are freshly made. What a great place to dine- Delicious and full of flavor. What a hidden Gem! What a fun and exclusive feeling diner hang out. Order more fried food than I normally eat, but did not upset my stomach, since their food was not overly saturated. We WILL return. I loved love loved the scallops. We found this little hole in the wall gem by word of mouth. Park anywhere you can find a spot and come on in. You sit down at a kitchen table and wonder if you will ever be the same. Beer and cokes come from the bait store where you walked through. The food though!!! I had the 16oz ribeye and the wife the grilled shrimp. O-M-G-!!!!! The flavor and cook on that steak was spectacular, you could have used the plate for the next customer it was so clean by the time I was finished. This was our first visit at Bob's Cafe. We are moving to the area and wanted to try something local and with good reviews. We were looking forward to eating here. We ordered the mozzarella sticks,quail, ribeye tips and chicken tenders. When entering we didn't realize it was inside the gas station store and wanted over 45 mins to be seated toward the back. The waiting area alone didn't have air conditioning which is really not good for the cashiers working in this heat index. After waiting forever, we were finally seated and had to wait 10-15 mins just to order drinks and food. Another 45 mins if not longer until our dinner came out and it was just bland. The ribeye tips were okay from what my kids expressed but this wasn't $70 worth of food. It was sad, over seasoned fries. Chicken tenders breading was mushy, and garlic bread tasted freezer burnt. I'm glad the locals seem to enjoy it but I really hope the next time it turns out to be a better experience. I give my honest reviews not to hurt a business but don't up charge people in this economy and not serve food that's actually good. read more

It's a cafe attached to a gas station in the middle of nowhere. My expectations were dismally low. But the girl said that the grilled tilapia was good so I gave it a shot. It was Amazing! Imagine my joy!! The veggies were good, the service was delightfully sweet and the meal even included a hit of crazy when I tried to identify the shredded, green pulp served as a side dish. Was this actually coleslaw? It was cut so fine you could have sucked it through a straw. And it looked so strange that I was still confused even after I'd tasted it. We read the reviews and took a chance. It is inside of a gas station. Go in and put your name on the list. Menu is steak and seafood. While you are waiting you can look in the live minnow tanks. Basic service, limited wine and beer(think basic domestic). Our fried catfish and shrimp was delicious. Fries and baked potatoes good. Cole slaw had too much pickle, bean salad was great but was overdosed with hot pepper vinegar. No one in our party had steak but it seems like the place to go for steak. I would say 3 1/2 stars if you could do a half star. read more

Don't judge a book by its cover! The food at Bob's Café is excellent! You won't find better prices for meals! I'm a regular at this Café and really enjoy myself every trip. It's out of the ordinary because it's not every day you walk through a bait and tackle shop/gas station, into a restaurant. It's a smaller place with an even smaller kitchen so sometimes it takes a little longer than expected to get your food, but it's almost always worth the wait. The steaks are phenomenal as well as the grilled seafood. Give it a try if you're in the area. Well worth the 10 minute drive from I-20. Just remember not to go if you're in a huge rush. read more
