A great lunch spot in Thomson Ga, that's open from 11-2 on the days it's open during the week, the line moves slowly, not because of the hardworking staff, it's slow because it's kinda hard to make up your mind with all the good food displayed in front of you when you walk in, and between the entree options, sides, salads and desserts, your pretty much going hmmm that good, but so does that, hmmm situation, but most people are in the same predicament, it's all really good, the crackling cornbread is 10/10 . highly recommended, Hope you like Elvis read more

SO good! We had lunch at Sweet T's while visiting my old hometown, and it was wonderful. It's in a building that I remembered being a flower shop, but now it's THE place in town for authentic Southern cooking. If there was any doubt, the waiting line was out the door at noon on a Thursday. The short wait was more than worth it. Amazing food, and such friendly folks. The food was wonderful- I highly recommend the choice here pictured. The cornbread was amazing. I passed on the dessert here which I'm sure is a arrest-able offense at this establishment. We were treated very well by everyone and I really enjoy the Elvis theme. It create a great ambiance and every time I've come through, there have been a good many patrons! This was your quintessential southern meat-and-3 kind of place. But the quality was very high, with lots of fresh tasty food. The service was good, and our waitress was friendly. When we drove up, the parking lot was crowded, and the line was out the door: always good signs! Well my mother in law and I just ate here for my first time and we both agree to say it definitely won't be my last time! It's good down home southern cooking with a line out the door. I ate fried chicken and the breading was on the bird it was fried just right and meat wasn't dry, the mashed potatoes and brown gravy was good, I had a cucumber salad onions, peas green beans, fried okra with a slice peach pie and 20 glass of sweet tea for $24.65 the proportions were perfect for my 250lbs and 6'4" self and my mother in law she's a little girl but I believe she should be a competitive eater cause she can eat more than me at 5'0" 120lbs and late 70's! I left an additional tip for the woman serving tea she never let my cup get half way empty! Believe it or not there were a few tables that were open about eight seats but as fast as the people were coming in people eating and getting out, they also had a line to pay and some of them were takeout, but it didn't take long to go through the little girl at the register said they're open from 11 to 2 and serve on average about 200 people I believe it! I did see the line they had a chicken poppyseed casserole and sweet potatoes casserole with pecans and brown sugar both of them my mother-in-law ate them. They had a variety of different pies available for purchase for a slice and all the sodas that you would want! Needless to say I will be back with my wife and my mother-in-law and you should try it too.... one last there's a sign it says cash is king. They do take credit cards but it's a 3.99% surcharge on your card. So bring cash. read more

Great little find for some great home cooking food!!! It's buffet style but they serve the food and drinks. The food is protected behind glass so it's sanitary. The food is awesome. Best fried chicken that I've had next to my grandmas!!! My husband had the fried catfish and it was some of the best I've had out. Tons of good vegetables. Yummy biscuits. Desserts looked homemade as well but was too fool to have some. The service was fast, efficient and the price was the icing on the cake. They were getting people in and out with some super homemade food!!!!! Super clean too!!!! Will definitely be back to this great place. read more

It's a small, nice and clean place to eat. Seems like a place frequently visit by locals. Off the serving line we had the baked chicken(delicious) and the fried pork shop(taste of burning grease). The side was the Mac and cheese(cold, brought out fresh from the back), greens, black eyed peas, deviled eggs and the corn bread(cold)! We also grab the dessert....yummy! I have driven by this establishment many times without stopping in. That was until yesterday. Now I'm grieving all the lost years I could have spent eating at Sweet T's. It's somewhat cafeteria style Southern deliciousness. My mother and I each got a plate, which we shared. The things we ordered (and loved) were the fried chicken, mashed potatoes with onion gravy (heaven), home style macaroni and cheese, squash casserole, creamed corn, peach cobbler, cornbread and sweet tea. The creamed corn was my favorite, mostly because it tastes just like my grandmother's (RIP Nana). I just can't stop thinking about this place. We've already made plans to come back on Monday with my sister and my husband. Next time I want to try their hamburger steaks. We got there a half-hour before they closed and they had just run out. read more

We arrived late so choice of sides was very limited. The country fried steak was good, pickled cucumber and bean salad was good but sweet. Apple dumpling desert was good. Wife's peace cobbler was way to sweet, she couldn't eat it. $26.00 tab little high but acceptable for privately owned restaurant. The staff was wonderful. Checking on us periodically. Great meat and veggie, southern cookin. Every day the menu is different...not huge variety today (chicken mostly), but it was tasty. The greens were too sweet (tried my friend's), stewed squash was excellent, Mac n cheese was ok, cornbread a little greasy. Overall, cute place and friendly staff. The blonde lady behind the counter was a lil loud and FAST talking...first visit so we were struggling to hear what she was asking. Look at the menu outside good before going in so you're prepared. If you want good home cooking, then you want Sweet T's in Thomson, GA. Thursday's are salmon pattie and banana pudding day. Not box pudding. The real deal with meringue like grandma used to make. You may find fried peach or apple pies, or peach cobbler. Fried chicken is every day and I swear the butter beans are the best I have ever tasted. It's amazing food and Tracy and Mrs. Wanda keep a spotless kitchen. If you are passing through on I-20, jump off the exit and head just a mile or two to Sweet T's! read more
