Went there shortly after opening. All you can eat for a very good price. I had two small issues with our lunch. They had a sign for banana pudding but were not offering it. I wish they had labelled everything and not just some foods. I missed the Salisbury steak the first trip through the line. I came back through a second time for dessert and found the steak on the line and got some. Food was excellent. Everything we had was well prepared. Service was excellent. It was nice to get there early since the line was starting to get a little long as we were finishing our meal. We were travelling to Thompson for the day - would definitely return again. read more

Ivery's restaurant in Thomson ,Ga. is awesome! We were just coming through town on a Sunday afternoon cutting cross country on Hwy 278 and happened upon it when the sports bar down the street was closed!! We are so glad we ended up there. The food was just like my Mom and Grandma made ! The high lights were the Mac and cheese, green beans ,limas and the delicious peach cobbler!!! The employees were all so very friendly and polite. Excellent food seasoning was great I wish there was an option for turkey meat added for veggies considering I don't eat pork the fat back in the veggies can sometimes prevent me from fully enjoying the food. The lines on Sunday are long but worth the wait. Servers can be rude at times but I understand they are busy busy. The servers are attentive and nice. When ordering take out I was told I'd be charged for the peach cobbler and also was told if I got another veggie it would be a charge but when I called they said take out is all you can eat as well so I'm not sure why I was overcharged on take out. read more

We use to love to go to Ivery's for lunch on Sunday. This last time was too much. They have changed from self serve to having servers provide portions. Maybe it has slowed the waste of food? I KNOW it has slowed the time of service. When we arrived, waited in maybe a 10 minute line to be served. Time to go back for seconds? You absolutely could!! Back in the line but this time the line was probably 45 minutes long. No way I was waiting that long!! Value- terrible if you can't have seconds on your favorites. Service- terrible if you have to wait in a 45 minute line. Food was good at maybe a 4 but for all of the hassle success has brought them along with their necessity to change service styles- we- meaning LOTS of people- will not be going back. read more

We LOVE Iverys as a family! We frequently went after church on Sundays, and just went back post-covid. They are doing a service style from the buffet line, you request what you'd like on your plate and a friendly face serves you. It's always clean, and they have the BEST sweet tea around. read more

Please please stay away. We have stopped coming to Ivery's because of the fact that everyone we have taken here - including ourselves has gotten sick on multiple occasions. Its now on our list to not go because although the food tastes amazing and the fact that it is a buffet of the most flavored southern food I have ever tasted outside of home cooked meals from my Smom - something is very wrong if it makes people sick. My dad was visiting from Arizona and we took him here and he got sick. His friend got sick and had to be hospitalized afterwards. When I explain that I am so against this place, it is because I have witnessed the fact that it makes people very ill. read more

The other people I was with made me pay for that crap meal and then we ended up going to a steakhouse where they paid . Ignorant staff serving GARBAGE for food . I Don't get to Thomson that often, but when I do I try to et at Ivery's. They have a large selection on the buffet, the staff is friendly, and is good at making sure u have plenty to drink. Wow, the food was great and I didn't get sick but this place is beyond just a "hole in the wall". It's downright a Chinese buffet that needs remodeling. Oddly enough the bathroom was better looking than the dining facility. I can eat at places like this but I can't say I'd send my city friends here. I'm not sure that restaurant the other reviewers were at but it was not the same place I visited today. Chicken was, well the Sahara would be considered moist in comparison. Skin and crust are usually the best part of chicken, this crust was like a protective suit of armor. I knew there was a problem when the fork wouldn't pierce the skin. The ham was actually some sort of processed, pressed ham product. (remember the beef goo controversy) I'm not a fan of southern sides so I can't comment on them. I didn't think it was possible to screw up a beverage, and they tasted OK, but then they charged $6 a piece for them. My paternal grandmother was a lousy cook, that might explain why my father likes eating here, it reminds him of home. It was busy, but I believe that speaks more about the pitiful lack of options in this town, and not the quality,or lack there of the food. read more

Fried chicken was dry and baked chicken was inedible. The so called "dressing" was over cooked. It looked like a bloody corn bread tray that was dry. The variety of chicken was disappointing. Only thighs maybe because their breasts dry out faster. No seasoning of the food. I mean have they never marinated their food. The gas station up the road served food so I wanted to compare and see how Ivery stood against gas station soul food. Unbelievably the gas station has mister chicken which had flavors that were amazing. The dressing was moist and flavorful with chicken broth I believe. I tasted black pepper and salt which made my taste buds excited. Between Ivery which charges 23 dollars for 3 plates and the gas station charges 5 dollars I will go to the gas station. The buffet wasn't available that night. I assume they only do buffet for lunch. Several menu items were not available, mainly anything made with ground beef. The sweet tea wasn't good at all. Although the lemonade was really good. My friend got her dinner about 20 minutes before my food came out. When I finally got my food, the fried okra was hot, seasoned perfectly!
