I was greeted the moment I walked through the door. The staff is very friendly. It is cafeteria style dining. Meaning, you go through a line and pick food to be put on your plate. The menu changes daily. I chose the chicken tenders, mac n'cheese and sweet potato casserole with a spicy cornbread muffin. The chicken was delicious, mac was pretty good. The sweet potato was very sweet. It's made with brown sugar and pecans. The cornbread was dry. I had to add honey. My husband got mashed potatoes and gravy, roast beef, and cornbread dressing. We ordered the combination appetizer that consisted of fried pickles, banana peppers, fried cheese sticks and onion rings. Great! Not greasy at all. My meal was a 20 ounce steak, baked potatoe and salad. I had more than enough for a to go box and will make at least x2 more meals out of my order. And, the steak was seasoned to perfection- chefs kiss! All of the other entrees looked just as good. The servers were outstanding! Kassidy (our main server) was a delight and happily joked with us. The ambiance is casual and welcoming. If you have a larger party, there are a couple of outdoor tables that appear to accommodate around six people, but personally I think this spot is best enjoyed with a smaller group. Our waitress was friendly, attentive, and kept everything moving smoothly despite the busy brunch crowd. My husband ordered the chicken and waffles while I went with the Garden City breakfast bowl loaded with veggies and home fries plus a salmon croquette on the side. Every single thing tasted homemade and full of flavor. This is what Southern comfort food is supposed to taste like. My breakfast bowl reminded me of the kind of breakfast my grandma used to make, comforting, flavorful, and cooked with care.
