Steeley's Grill in Dearing, Ga takes you back to simpler times. The food is good, the ambiance and decor reminds of places i used to eat at as a kid, and the service is just straight up Southern hospitality. My folks and i stopped by for lunch recently when i was home for a visit. They don't eat out much but recommended Steeley's; I'm glad they did! Their menu is short and simple. A variety of diner sandwiches and simple sides like fries or onion rings. There was more, but i ordered a dipped chicken sandwich and thought fries would be the best option. It was a solid choice as the sandwich was very good. Their hours indicate they're open for breakfast so next time i'm over this way, I'm going to have to check that out. If I had to choose between eating at fine dining or hole-in-the-wall establishments for the rest of my life there would be no hesitation. When I saw "...and Tackle" as part of the name I knew this was going to be some good food. Plastic trays for food, plastic ware for utensils, and styrofoam cups for your drink. And let me take a moment to get proper honor due that sweet tea. It has been a hot Georgia minute since I've had sweet tea. 1) I strive to consume mostly water and 2) I don't want the disappointment of mildly sweet/bitter tea. But I had a feeling about this place. I have no shame in admitting that I drank three glasses during the meal and got a refill for the ride home. Now the inside seating is nice and cool, but much like the team working here the layout has a family feel. You might be at separate tables, but your conversations will be overlapping. The outside seating follows the wrap around porch, with the very back giving you a view of the pond. We opted for outside and I am so glad we did. Aside from the occasional vehicle passing by, one only heard birds chirping and frogs croaking. Pure bliss. The burger is a thing of beauty. The mac n cheese, just order it. I don't care if you got a salad. Order this and thank me later. And to top it off, the banana pudding. I will try the pie and/or cake another day, but I had to do the pudding. And there was no sharing at my table. I had it consumed before they returned with my card and receipt. This is the easiest 5 star review I've ever given. This down home, southern restaurant is everything I've been searching for in Georgia for almost 20 years. The prices are amazing. Way less than the quality and I don't shoot my self in the foot here, but they could easily upcharge and still beat everywhere local on their prices. The batter they used was perfect. The burger was so juicy and slam packed with flavor (and huge). If you're within 50 miles of this place and you don't go, you have only failed yourself. I found my new regular place to go. read more

We love this local privately owned business in Dearing. It is very much no-frills Southern cuisine, so don't come here for avocado toast. Service is great, the food comes out timely and cooked fresh, and the portions are huge. You can tell in the pictures that there's a pile of bacon and the pancakes are quite wide but not too thick and cakey. The eggs are a little on the creamy and the biscuit is fairly basic on consistency and flavor but we love coming here. If you are in the area and looking for a new breakfast stop, come by and support some locals. read more

Steely's is our favorite! Breakfast, lunch, dinner...you can't go wrong.Delicious pancakes like our Nanny made. Wonderful hamburgers and chicken fingers. We love the fried pickles and fried green tomatoes. Sitting outside overlooking the pond is great in cooler weather. Service is friendly and top notch. great food, but the cooks in the back talk pretty loud about the customers badly and complain about what food we order. also, they have a 2 dollar fee for card without any posted notice. hardly ever answer the phone, and if they do you have to call multiple times. even after all the hassle the order is rarely right. read more

Fresh to order our food was amazing, I had the Dani's dipped chicken sandwich with onion rings the taste was perfect not what I expected, my love got a double cheese burger with fries and Mac n cheese bites, it was one of the biggest tastiest burgers I've ever seen, Grace was our Server and was on top of everything . couldn't ask for anything better, can't wait to go again read more

We try to support local restaurants but had eaten here only once about 2 years ago....a little bit of a drive from our home. The fried chicken, onion rings, and okra were very good and hot, I gave just 4 stars because there is no menu posted, a menu, although we saw her hand one to a later customer, was not offered to us when the server came to take our order. When our food was delivered she did not offer any utensils. ( We had indicated to her that we had never eaten there before and she could have been a little more forthcoming with information about the specials, etc) In addition, when we stepped to the counter to pay and she asked if cash or card, she did not inform us that there is a $2.00 charge when using a credit card. Most businesses have that information posted near the register. The total for the 2 piece chicken snack, tap water as deinks, which included one side seemed steep ($23.99), and when I checked their 2022 online menu at home against our receipt, I found that we had been overcharged.
