Really great breakfast! This is a small place, only about 8 tables but it has a nice homey atmosphere. The servers were very friendly and attentive. There's over a dozen types of omelettes on the menu. I went with the "viking" which has provolone cheese, sliced rib eye steak and sautéed onions and peppers. The eggs were tender and perfectly cooked. I chose grits as a side and was impressed with them as they were properly salted and creamy. My toasted biscuit was good too. My daughter had chocolate chip pancakes and declared them most excellent. Supposedly they are well known for their sausage and gravy, maybe next time I'm in Greenwood I'll try them. Well, this won't be the best review for them, which I hate to do. If I come to eat at your restaurant, it is most likely I attempted to find a place that is mom & pop, gets great (4*+) reviews, and will have something everyone will like. We love supporting local businesses/hole in the wall hidden gems. We had already stopped at Big Apple and they didn't have anything but bread, no croissants or biscuits at 9:45am, on top of not having the inside open. They will get their own review. As we went inside West End we saw a note on the door that they would be closing at 11. It was right before 10. The place was busy and we had to wait for a table to be cleaned, but we didn't wait long. The 2 ladies working out where we had contact (waitress and cashier) were great. This is why they aren't getting less than 3*. We were told immediately that they were out of grits! Ok no big deal, we are here for the croissants and grilled biscuits we read about. Well, menu had been updated, but not on Yelp, without croissants. Fine! We all ordered biscuit sandwiches and hashbrowns and 2 ordered pancakes. About 5 min after we ordered we were informed they only had 1 biscuit, out of the 4 we had ordered. We cancelled 1 and the other 2 were begrudgingly switched to bread and an English muffin. Food came out and the English muffin wasn't included, both on toast. Had that remade which took forever. The food was OK. That's all I can really say. The homemade strawberry jam was pretty good. The 1 grilled biscuit I got I took the bottom off my sandwich, added the jam, and shared with the others who had wanted to try. It was a bit on the doughy side to me. Good enough, but everything really just tasted like it was premade bisquik mix or something (pancakes and biscuits). The restaurant itself is pretty small and crammed feeling. Nothing really special to note about it. We won't be going back, even if traveling through again. Not sure how they got rated best biscuits that they have across the window. Felt like maybe that claim was back before they changed the menu‍ and possibly the ingredients. I will add, they did not charge me for my biscuit sandwich. Overall disappointed, but like I said, the employees kept them at 3*. We know something was going on to have them closing at 11. I pray it isn't something bad for any of them. Next time they need to close, maybe be prepared for the customers you are going to take and when something you sell a lot of, runs out or gets close to running out before you are closing, maybe let people know when they come in or write that on the note on the door. I am including the menu we had for breakfast. I didn't think to take pics of the lunch menu. Hope that hasn't changed also. read more

I have heard great things about this cafe and decided to try it for lunch. Limited seating. I went with the bearcat sub which was ribeye and chicken on a 6in hoagie with onion and peppers with a side of fries. Everything was flavorful even their homemade ranch. Service was great. Big city food with small town vibes! Absolutely loved the experience from catching a brunch at this spot! I ordered a sausage breakfast biscuit with some SOS on the side. Not necessarily a common find to see SOS on a menu and maaaaaaann did that bring back some incredible childhood memories. You can put your money on everything being made from scratch here and the restaurant workers helped this out of towner feel like a long time member of the community. If you're looking for a super authentic small town diner feel with some tastes you would think came out of a high end big city breakfast spot this is a place you do not want to sleep on. I left feeling like a regular and, in many ways, I feel I have to continue going back now because these people are simply legit! We stopped at this little Gem yesterday for the very first time. I had found it here on yelp and figured we should check it out because we like to support local businesses. We did not leave disappointed. They were super friendly , welcoming and the food was absolutely delicious. It has been a long time that we had a breakfast like that with super fluffy pancakes , incredible French toast , perfect omelette , super fresh fruits and absolute reasonable pricing. It's really hard to get a table since it has such a small dining area. Had to stand around until someone got up. This small diner is a perfect reflection of our community. It's a small town feel with homemade down home food. All meat and vegetables come from local farms in the surrounding area. Great western omelet, awesome fried buttery biscuits, creamy grits, crispy hash browns, friendly staff, and fast service. Building is in need of repair, front window has huge crack, a broken chair at the table where we were served in which I nearly hit the floor. The chair was removed from the eating area. Toilet wouldn't flush after three attempts, and limited supplies in the bathroom-no paper towels. read more
