Visited the drive thru on 11/20/2024 around 11:00 a.m. Got the order incorrect, not that big of a deal. I mistakenly gave them a $50 and 3 $20's, rather than the 4 1's I pulled out and the .35. Rather than be honest and mention it, they took it. Called Cook Out Headquarters and getting passed around and no resolution, not good customer service. I know they have camera and can easily see the transaction take place, it shouldn't be that hard to see her and her co-workers with the extra $106.00. Did I make a mistake, absolutely. Ok, so coming in town Wednesday night, most places were closed. I wanted something to eat so bad. I stopped at my cousins house and then went out food hunting and saw that Cookout was open, so I whipped in there. I ordered 3 chicken tender baskets and three drinks, and I got all of my stuff in under 3 minutes and it was fresh and piping hot! Even driving back to the house, it was still hot, so I know it was really hot when I got it. I love their tenders and Cajun fries. The staff was friendly and nice. I have always kind of hoped the things I heard about the kitchen and how it's run wasn't true, but Ive already had enough bad food to know it is true. Now I got styrofoam in my milkshake. I love cookout and the cashier today was the best I've ever had. I usually have someone that's just very short with me, so I was happy to see someone kind. Excellent alternative to the national chains. We had burgers (mine "steak style" with A-1, grilled onions, etc, hers a regular cheesburger with the usual lettuce/tomato/onions) and they came hot, freshly prepared, and tasted great after a morning on the road. Good selection of sides-- the burgers come with two of them-- and the shakes qualified as some of the thickest hand-scooped shakes either of us could recall. Service was efficient. The "religious music" referenced in another review is XM/Sirius Christian rock at a low-enough volume that I had to consciously listen to ID it. Seriously, if MUSIC makes you sufficiently unhinged and "uncomfortable" to dampen the lunch experience, you should probably seek counseling and avoid the internet for a few years. Think happy thoughts and embrace the burger, man. This is a regional chain, though alas not our current "home" region. We'll be back on subsequent trips through the area. read more

We're from out of town visiting family. We came here for a late night bite to eat. We eat cookout frequently at home so we knew what to expect food wise. Food was cooked correctly & well. But the place inside is GROSS. It smelled like throw up, all the chairs were sticky, there was trash all over the floor. Definitely won't be eating inside here again. read more

This is the place for milkshakes! They have about 40 choices and I've tried a dozen of them. The pineapple shake is so refreshing, but ditch the straw and eat it with a spoon. The burgers are really good - dripping down your arm juicy, but I thought the BBQ was bland. Hot dog lovers will like having two options for their dogs - opt for the grilled kind. It has great flavor. Their chili and onion rings are pretty tasty, too. The service is fast and the place is clean. There's almost always a line at lunch and dinner, but they're efficient. I had my first Cheerwine float (an unusual departure from my typical shake) and it was something special! If you're not from the South, and you've never had Cheerwine, you've gotta give it a try. Whenever it's a whatever night for dinner my husband and I always stop by Cook out. They make the best burgers and milkshakes!! And the prices are amazing. They have a $5 tray that comes with a main dish 2 side items and a drink or shake. You can't beat that. The only thing I wish they had was slushies. read more

However, when i got to the window to pay for my food, whoever the young blonde chic with a ponytail is handing out food has a MAJOR attitude problem. So unfortunate U didn't get her name... She reached me the wrong drink, when I asked her what it was, she told me and when I informed her I didn't order that...to me, it wasn't THAT big of a deal, BUT the look she gave me, almost snatching the drink back inside. This is the 2nd time I've encountered her, she seemed to have the same foul attitude the first time, however I know everyone has an off day so i gave her the benefit and let it slide...However, this being the 2ND TIME and she has THE SAME SNOTTY ATTITUDE as the 1st time, apparently this is normal for her, and there's no excuse for it when working in the public. I don't know what the problem is, but she is the ONLY employee I've ever encountered at this location that acts like that. The reason behind 3 stars for cookout is 1. The intercom in the drive thru dosn't work very well can't hear half of what the waiters are saying 2. When you eat French fries you expect crunchy texture not soggy and flimsy 3. Costumer service was pretty bad the women had attitude with me when I told them something was wrong with my drink 4. I ordered a coke and I came out tasting like candy and not savory like how coke is supposed to taste. 5. To much grease yeah this is a fast food restaurant but McDonald's doesn't have this much grease in their food. read more

The chicken quesadilla had only cheese and no flavor but not much (, I even thought that I orded a plain quesadilla. Luckily, the BBQ chicken sandwich pleased me well.
