    Flavored Iced Latte
    Megha D.

I was in town for a wedding and was looking for a quick breakfast spot for our group! Cafe 44 is tucked into a shopping center and has plenty of parking but it is very tiny so we did have to wait in line for a bit (about 15-20 min). You order at the counter and then can sit down at one of the tables. I had the Lighter Side Sandwich with a decaf iced flavored latte (I believe it was Spiced Brown Sugar). They had so many flavors of flavored coffee so definitely check them out! My group also tried the Farmers Hash, Croissant Sandwich, and Breakfast Sandwich all of which were delicious! Everything came out super fast and we were able to get in and out super fast. The servers were also super nice putting together a table for our big group and also giving recommendations for a pastry from their case (we got the chocolate croissant which tasted pretty good). Overall, really enjoyed Cafe 44 and great breakfast spot in the Greensboro/Lake Oconee area!

My delicious prime rib sandwich, homemade chips, and Anjou. Only half as I had already eaten the first half!

In a spur of the moment NYE trip to the ever bustling Lake Oconee area, my partner in crime recommended this little spot tucked away in a business development. Expecting expensive food with small portions due to the crowd of wine moms and preppy high schoolers seated inside and out, I was greeted with the aromas of fresh coffee, a clean and well organized restaurant and a menu with numerous meals that sounded not only delicious, but affordable too! Still a little skeptical, I ordered the prime rib sandwich with homemade potato chips and my companion had the chicken avocado bacon club or something like that, paired with a nice Samoa coffee. The register worker was patient and nice despite us being there just before close (special NYE hours we thought they'd be open later our bad) and in what felt like mere seconds our sandwiches arrived! For under $10, I'm not sure you could find a fresher, faster, and more delicious meal this side of the Miss'ippi. I'll start with the sandwiches, and furthermore, the bread; not just crispy, but with that great sourdough chew as well! Really an incredible balance between crunchy and chewy. Just the right thickness, and absorbent for my prime rib's Anjou. The meat was well prepared, flavorful, fresh, and tender as could be, and that aforementioned Anjou even tasted like it wasn't made with a mix or packet (though if it was nbd). I can't emphasize enough how fresh it all tasted, truly a delightful meal. The old lady's chicken avocado bacon club (maybe) performed equally well or even better. The bacon was perfectly cooked in my humble opinion, and the chicken was far from dry or tasteless. Even the avocado, not typically a favorite of mine on a sandwich, I thought was a great addition for the bite or two that I stole. Moving on to the sides, which were maybe not as filling as a scoop of mac and cheese or a bowl of chili (which I think we could have ordered had we coughed up a couple more bucks), but were not forgettable either. The salad, like EVERYTHING else, was as fresh as possible, and the vinaigrette was sweet and tangy. My homemade (cool right?) potato chips had a lovely funk almost like an aged cheese along with a great crack and nutty flavor. Not one bite of our lunches made it past 2024, as we spared not one leaf of lettuce or a single chip. Even the coffee (Samoa with some kind of syrup and milk) was delicious, just a tad sweet for my liking but tasting quite legit, not like one you'd get from a gas station cappuccino machine. I would be remiss if I did not mention the people. For 2pm, this place was HOPPING. And every worker there had a smile on their face! Not only this, but they happily brought our food to us outside. I was lucky enough to briefly chat with the owner, Lane, as he casually checked on the tables outside. He came across as authentic, cheerful, and involved, and explained he planned to keep the prices low and the food fresh and fast just as it was in our experience. Genuinely can't recommend this place enough, I will 100% be back if I don't die in a freak accident. Made our day trip to the area worth it. Cafe 44 was the perfect place to have lunch on the beautiful day we were blessed with to finish off the year! Thanks Cafe 44! p.s. I seriously can't emphasize enough how fresh this food was, like they made every portion size one at a time for each meal (though I am fairly certain this is not the case it was that good, think artisan farmers market ingredients). Thinking about eating at Subway now that I've eaten here just about makes me sick!

Cafe 44 came as highly recommended for some great brunch in Eatonton so we gave it a shot. I was in town for a wedding looking for a caffeine fix for the day and we came here. You order at a counter and seat yourself and food was brought to you. We arrived around 10am with a big party and we were able to order, sit and eat all in like an hour or so! I ordered the pumpkin spice latte to drink and it was phenomenal! For my main, I got the hash bowl which was quite good. I did want the sauce on the side but nevertheless was delicious and it came with a biscuit!! A couple of us also decided to share a chocolate croissant and I thought it was fine but someone said it was stale. Overall, food was good for a decent price and could not complain. Definitely not the best brunch but was better than Waffle House!

    Cinnamon Roll

if there's a line outside to get in, it's gotta be good. Right ? Salad was great, and the cinnamon roll was by far the best I've ever had. No doubt. The people inside were great as well as the community. 11/10 will be back again.

Some of the great pastries. Cinnamon buns are delicious!!

Very kind staff, great coffee. What more can you ask for? Oh, they have a beautiful selection of desserts. We ordered the pecan square and a cinnamon bun. The cinnamon bun was very good and the frosting on top was not overly sweet and overwhelming. Pecan was sweet but to be expected. The breakfast sandwich was absolutely divine! It was perfectly crispy. We shared a sandwich. Eggs cooked perfectly, crispy bacon, melted cheese....will get again and will add tomato. The outdoor tables are a nice touch - and a place to soak in some fresh air under the umbrellas. They have a lot of magazines inside and I liked this touch. A great place to have a bite to eat, do some reading. COVID: they are so careful wearing gloves and masks. Probably the safest place I've gone in a food establishment. They also have hand sanitizer on the walls. Staff will help you to open the door and garbage cans so you don't have to touch surfaces. Very kind and considerate

I am so thrilled with our experience at Cafe 44 and am so happy to have this restaurant as an option for a quick lunch and coffee! First of all, to my delight they offer gluten free bread! I could have ordered almost anything on the menu with that substitution. I was very pleased to have so many options! The pastrami sandwich was delicious - it had cheese and was prepared like a grilled cheese. I got mine wserved with the homemade fantastic potato chips. The food came out quickly, even before the coffee. My large Heath Bar coffee was exactly what I needed at 11 in the morning. I do have to say though that my husband's vanilla latte was even more delicious. Thank you to the friendly lady who took our order, and thank you Cafe 44 for doing everything just right!

Great breakfast at this sweet spot. It was our first time here. If we lived in the area, we would come back. I would have liked to try their lunch.

While it was good, nothing was truly hot. Both the CFS and MPs were warm, with the gravy being barely as warm. Though, the BePs, were warmest. However, I found, the CFS to be on the dry side. While the Cornbread was firm, it was good. Unfortunately, they charged me for 3 sides, instead of just 2. So, because of this, I didn't give a voluntary tip. Fortunately, Chris had gotten some Kenyan Hot Sauce, which I tried on the CFS. And, it really helped with the taste. Sadly, they only 1, 10 oz bottle, which I let them have. And, I bought a 5 oz bottle. The HS has a unique texture, but isn't "hot" in the traditional sense.

I don't live far, but I've had a hard time finding spots to post up for a bit outside of Privi at Stonecrest. From my first visit, I felt so welcomed. The staff was friendly and the menu had plenty of options. I've been a couple of times now, and I have to admit--I haven't quite nailed my coffee order yet. That's completely on me though. The first time, I tried "Falling in Love with Biscoff." It looked amazing, and so did the pastries, so I added a slice of banana bread. That was the mistake--because it was so good that everything after just couldn't compete. The drink was way too sweet for me, especially after that banana bread. On my next visit, I decided to keep it simple with a matcha, but someone suggested adding blueberry syrup. Knowing I don't usually do flavors in my matcha, I went for it anyway. Again... on me! Even with my off-ordering luck, I love the vibe here. Tammy was in when I arrived, and she is such a light--it was a pleasure meeting her. I'll definitely be back. While I've had eclairs and tarts from several different Italian bakeries, and 3 stores, this is the first time I've had them from a French (these treats originated in France) bakery. Even though thel size is inline with the original classic eclair (had a bit less gauche), I was disappointed. And, much prefer the Italian version. Now, they had 4 different versions of eclairs (fruit, chocolate, vanilla and, coffee), along with many different tarts, with and without, fruit. I settled on 2 Chocolate Eclairs and, 1 Blueberry + Almond Fruit Tart. BAFT: While I liked it, it was nothing to write home about. I felt that there wasn't enough almond flavoring and, the crust was a bit dry. CEs: While it was packed with filling, I think, someone in the kitchen messed up, as there was a distinctive coffee taste (I don't like coffee), rather than just the custard or, vanilla taste. Had it not been for that, I would have given them 4 Stars. Why not 5? Well, I thought $6.00 (x2) and $7.00 each is a bit expensive. Especially, considering the size of the CEs and BAFT. For sure, I won't worry about a special trip here again. And, if we should stop here again, I doubt if I'd even bother with the eclairs (maybe a fruit one???).
