This is a hidden gem downtown Madison in an old gas station with a great outside seating area. The coffee aroma hits you as soon as you open the door. It tastes as good as it smells. Then you see the pastries and what can I say. They are made by a Paris trained chief and they are divine. The specialty almond pastry and muffins were the best I have had. They also have cocktails, wine, and beer! Madison has some unique shops around the town center. Like being in a Hallmark movie!

Stopped by here the other day to do some work. I was looking for a coffee shop in the area and had tried another coffee shop down the street but their wifi wasn't working and I didn't really like the atmosphere and felt the staff was kind of rude. So I found this place and decided to try it out. It is definitely less of a coffee shop and more of a little restaurant/bar but they had an espresso machine. I got an iced latte and they gave me the wifi password and I was able to do my work. The staff was very polite despite there seeming to be a lot of rude customers coming it. It wasn't crowded but there were always at least 2 other people in the restaurant and they were all older and most were coming for a drink but spoke very rudely with the staff. They were very impatient despite the service being quick. They even yelled at the staff at one point telling them to turn the music off... but the staff was very nice and handled the situation well. I don't know how they managed to get spoken to like that all day and still be so polite! My coffee was good and obviously I loved the staff! I would definitely come back here :)

Coffee was hot. Food was not. The pancakes were too cold to melt the butter. They tasted decent though.

My wife and I had two good panini's. The craft drinks were also a nice surprise. A delightful experience.

"There's something magical about rooftops. You feel like you're in 'Mary Poppins."…read moreGeorge Clarke There really is something special about being on a rooftop on a perfect summer evening, and it's great to have it right in downtown Sugar Hill. I would like to say I planned the perfect date, but as some of the best things in life, this was just an impromptu visit to cap off an already great evening. Outside of being on the rooftop, the bar itself is upscale yet approachable, service was fast and friendly. Being a bit of a self engrandized home bartender I'm a bit critical when out of my home lab, but their Smoked Old Fashioned wasn't bad. ("Wasn't bad" really means very good.") While I don't love the prices and hate paying a cover charge, when you throw in live music, a great vibe, and a view, I can't really complain. The owner made an announcement that whoever tipped the band $10 would get a free drink, and since most drinks were over $15 I thought that was cool on many levels. Will definitely be back to The Rooftop!

We walked around and finally ran into a waitress who told us to sit anywhere we wished inside or outside. The only area festive was inside a closed igloo and no heaters were on outdoors which was just a tad too cool for me despite the super nice weather that day. It would have been so to sit outside but without the warmth of the heaters we headed inside. We placed our order and explained we were just there for a pre-dinner drink and wanted to check out the venue so we didn't leave our tab open but we were quickly served the fabulous taking drinks on their menu(s). The Old Fashioned was on the regular menu and the Russian was on their seasonal tabletop menu. Server was very nice and took photos for some ladies we met. The only reason I can't give them a 5 star is they claim they are big on hospitality but yet we were not acknowledged upon arrival. Many restaurants and even some retail stores have a way to ensure they say hello/welcome immediately when you enter and without a hostess - the mindset should be that the bar or wait staff have a way to immediately say hello or welcome so those who have never been feel welcomed as well as those who frequently come. It would be nice to have a more festive decor for the holidays but that didn't affect my review; just a statement to say that the entire Sugar Hill area was pumping and themed with the holiday spirit then we walked in the only area decorated was not even accessible nor was it offered as an option to enjoy.

I opted for the water .. my order for brunch was chicken and waffle. $18 once the food arrive I get 4 drumettes, waffle look like a frozen waffle. Disappointed because the chicken was under seasoned and had been cooked in old grease. Was asked if we needed to go containers.. of course not. If having a high volume of fried foods the grease need to be changed or cleaned. That would definitely help. I felt the young lady (server) was new . I know we got there at 11 when they just opened the staff should get there prior to get the restaurant ready for opening so the tables can get wiped down instead of waiting for the guest to sit then you spread the table and wipe them while I was sitting. Some people have allergies and the cleaning product may cause an allergic reaction. Would I return? Most definitely not. I would have to pass.

I was given a start date, only to later find out that the establishment was actually closed that day. No one from management informed me. I had to go out of my way to contact another owner whose number I found on Instagram just to be told the place was closed. Situations like this show a serious lack of organization and respect for people's time. If management cannot properly communicate something as basic as whether the business is open, it raises concerns about how the establishment is run overall. I also noticed that most of the reviews here appear to be from several years ago, which makes me question whether the current experience reflects what customers can expect today. Based on my experience, I would encourage others to do their research before choosing to support this business.

There seems to be plenty of parking on the street as well as the lot behind the building. It was around noon when I arrived and they were serving their brunch menu. I had the Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit that came with eggs and a side of grits. The biscuit was large, soft, and toasted and the fried chicken on top crisp and seasoned well. It was sweet from the honey. The eggs (I had them scrambled) were fine, but nothing remarkable. The grits were quite spicy for my taste, but I'm a wimp from the Midwest so they were probably great. I enjoyed everything. I would have liked an unsweetened iced tea, but only sweet tea was available. I had a fountain soft drink instead of. The restaurant was light and airy. NOTE if you go during brunch and you get a cocktail from the menu you won't see the prices for brunch. That is part of the reason for the low rating. I ordered the impossible burger slider, it doesn't come with anything. Just two sliders. I ordered the potatoes. Even though the sliders were decent. It was a little salty. Presentation was good. Watermelon savage. I also tried the scrambled eggs - way too salty. It was inedible. My brunch partner didn't like the grits or chicken biscuit that it came with. Service was fine. Decor and atmosphere was nice. Overall, it was decent. It seems like a nice place to grab drinks and catch a vibe or be the vibe. Gratuity is included. Overall, decent spot. Oh and there is outdoor seating that includes a stage.
