Overall, disappointing evening. Appetizer was wagyu toast. It didn't resemble the picture at all. 3 tiny balls on basically a Stacy's toast chip. Korean BBQ tacos were without any Korean flavor or BBQ for that matter, slaw on top flavorless as well. Shrimp and grits would have been somewhat redeeming but NOTE they are not red shrimp. Even the server said it was a "lighter" version. Read smaller portion, cheaper ingredients. We had to sit outside because the music inside was very loud. There were unbiased tables everywhere. Our server even forgot to put in our appetizer. Sad I drove 45 minutes there and spent 75 dollars to be honest. read more

He came with a new pen right away without asking anticipating my needs Their olive oil cake was great, and their coffee was better than the Ritz. I can see the potential but it was a bit of a miss during our experience. I got the turkey jive wrap (which the waitress recommended) but the avocado was hard and my parm fries (w/$3 uncharge) were cold. The Pineapple Jalapeño Margarita did not have any pineapple flavor and was a subpar spicy margarita itself. We ordered the Smokey Colada and were honestly surprised that it was a Pina Colada on the rocks, not frozen, with no Smokey taste. Not ideal. I think if you stick to burgers, wings, and beer and hope for fresh fries, you may have a better meal than we did. read more

I am so happy The Lake House opened in the old Georgia Butts location. The setting right on the lake is peaceful and beautiful, and the interior is refreshed and very "gastropub." Next time I will sit outside on the deck facing the water. There is plenty of parking but every other time I have driven by, it seemed so busy we didn't stop in. This time we struck at 5pm and it was busy but not overly so. Celina was our very friendly and attentive waitress and she helped me with gluten free options. Five stars for Celina! I enjoyed the spiciness of my shrimp and grits, the cook on the shrimp, the sauce, and the sausage. I was disappointed that the grits were a little stiff and lumpy (this is the South y'all!) but overall it was a good meal. My husband's burger was cooked perfectly medium rare and he enjoyed it. Food was subpar, asked to substitute our fries for sweet potato tots and instead of just adding an up-charge to the meal they charged for a full appetizer. On top of that our waitress also tried to "add shrimp and add chicken" to our tender baskets, literally every member of our 6 person table. Guessing to try and sneak extra charges on our bill. When I tried to get the receipt she said that the printers were "out of paper" and then when I pressed to get my receipt she said it would take a bit to get me one, glad I waited. Dirt bag move. Well. I'm still sitting here waiting for my food. Unless there is a major shift in how the food tastes, I think I'm giving them a real break with two stars. The hostesses had a helluva time seating us. I'm not sure what the fuss was about but they really seemed overwhelmed. There weren't that many people here and there were plenty of seats available. But somehow it took 15 minutes to get us to a table. Now we've been sitting here for close to 45 minutes for 2 salads, tacos, grilled cheese and corn dogs. I give this place until mid-fall. Went for lunch . Sat ourselves. Music so loud you could barely talk. Staff looked disheveled. Took close to 30 min to get 2 burgers with fries. Only one other table and they had their food. The lake House restaurant is located in a very convenient area of lake Oconee! It's not hard at all to dock your boat from the lake and access to restaurant during operating hours! I visited here with my family and some friends that came into town back in June. In terms of food, I ordered a BLT sandwich. I believe it was. It was awesome! I am very sad that this place was beyond disappointing. The service was terrible. We ordered drinks as soon as we sat down and they didn't come out until after we were done with our appetizer. The buffalo chicken eggrolls were decent. My burger came out without a fried green tomato. Oh- we didn't tell you we were out of those? The fries were cold. The burger bun was cold and hard. My husbands Philly cheesesteak had a stale bun and it was fatty. His onion rings literally tasted like funions and were cold. Great atmosphere. Horrible food and service. The table Next to us got sat and no one said a word to them. After 10 minutes, they got up and went to the bistro across the street. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.
