My folks and i stopped by for lunch recently when i was home for a visit. They don't eat out much but recommended Steeley's; I'm glad they did! Their menu is short and simple. A variety of diner sandwiches and simple sides like fries or onion rings. There was more, but i ordered a dipped chicken sandwich and thought fries would be the best option. It was a solid choice as the sandwich was very good. Their hours indicate they're open for breakfast so next time i'm over this way, I'm going to have to check that out. I highly recommend this not so out of the way gem near downtown Dearing Ga

If I had to choose between eating at fine dining or hole-in-the-wall establishments for the rest of…read moremy life there would be no hesitation. When I saw "...and Tackle" as part of the name I knew this was going to be some good food. Plastic trays for food, plastic ware for utensils, and styrofoam cups for your drink. And let me take a moment to get proper honor due that sweet tea. It has been a hot Georgia minute since I've had sweet tea. 1) I strive to consume mostly water and 2) I don't want the disappointment of mildly sweet/bitter tea. But I had a feeling about this place. I have no shame in admitting that I drank three glasses during the meal and got a refill for the ride home. Now the inside seating is nice and cool, but much like the team working here the layout has a family feel. You might be at separate tables, but your conversations will be overlapping. The outside seating follows the wrap around porch, with the very back giving you a view of the pond. We opted for outside and I am so glad we did. Aside from the occasional vehicle passing by, one only heard birds chirping and frogs croaking. Pure bliss. The burger is a thing of beauty. The mac n cheese, just order it. I don't care if you got a salad. Order this and thank me later. And to top it off, the banana pudding. I will try the pie and/or cake another day, but I had to do the pudding. And there was no sharing at my table. I had it consumed before they returned with my card and receipt. I don't know how long this place has been around, but I sure hope it stays so I can continue to visit (and indulge). If you are anywhere near this place, go!

The place is great and the bar (located in the back) is quaint and friendly. The young lady that helped us was friendly, attentive, and had a smile on her face every time she spoke to us. I had the Deluxe Steak Philly with wedge fries, which are seasoned with lemon paper. It was juicy and delicious and just the right size. My son had a caesar salad with grilled chicken. It was huge and he thoroughly enjoyed it. I'm excited to go back and spend more time chatting with the other folks at the bar and watching a game.

I finally got up and asked for service. It appeared to be three workers. Only one young lady waiting on tables & working behind the bar. It seemed like today the ones we saw there didn't really want to be working..

Where do I start with GDC, the atmosphere, the attentive staff, the decor? Let's start with…read moreservice, food then go into overall experience. Upon entering GDC, we were warmly greeted by the staff on such a chilly night so well received. One thing a restaurant can do is not warmly greet a customer and especially when it's their first time there. This sets the tone of the visit so I appreciated the warm welcome for me and my Mom as first timers. We were sat at a nearby table with a gentlemen who just so happen to be a long time customer who drives pretty far for the food call myself intrigued. Now the bar has been set high. Our waitress asked if we'd visited before and of course we hadn't so she spoke on the menu and the Chef specials. Mom and myself ended up getting the Chef specials. We also ordered the appetizers. Needless to say the food was beyond goodness beyond amazing, it bad to be one of the best dining experiences I've had. I like to consider myself well traveled and coming from NYC I've been to Michelin star restaurants. GDC is definitely up their in the top tier to be in such a small town. Next time I'm in town visiting, GDC is a must visit. Oh yeah, how could I forget. The owner came by our table checked on us a few times and held some small talk. Told us about the photos on the wall that my mom was admiring. The best part is, when my lambchops came out and I was one bone in, he told me to slow down he has something that would blow my mind. He made this freaking amazing maple bacon and pecan sauce (I could have screwed up the ingredients) that I could literally have poured over my entire meal and maybe my own fingers it was so good. Once our food was finished we watched it get set out under the heat lamp but it was not collected by our server until at least 10 minutes after it was set out. We expressed our concerns to the server and were met with disdain and attitude rather than empathy and an apology, the server quite literally had nothing to say when we expressed our displeasure. The food seems great but I doubt I will ever come back to sit down, I watched tables come after us and get served before we did.

I don't know what type of cashiers they have at this place but it's ridiculous to treat the black…read morecustomers badly when they're trying to buy lunch or dinner. There needs to be more black cashiers up front taking orders because there seems to be a lot of hostile prejudice against certain people eating there. I went last night to get a Summer Salad for my mom and when I got in there all the (white customers) were getting treated fairly, but you can obviously tell they were surprised that black customers actually come there. All the white customers seem to stare looking confused as I came in like they never saw a black customer come in there and when the cashier came around she put on a fake smile asking me my order and looking at me puzzled like she never seen a black customer before. I saw all the black cooks working exhausted in the back and the cashier gave an evil grin at me. So when I told her I wanted a Summer Salad for my mom she first acted like she didn't know what a Summer Salad is. Mind you they have been selling it all summer and fall is not here yet until late September. The cashier lied in my face and said they don't sell Summer Salads anymore when clearly, it's on the menu. She looked me up and down with a hateful glare then gave me a fake smile like she was laughing in my face and told me to order something else. My mom was so upset she left and we will not be going back there anymore. This cashier had black straight hair in a bun, younger maybe in her 20s, white, and blue eyes. Whoever the manager, supervisor, or boss they need to start giving other races a chance to be cashiers too. This is the second time I been there seeing all the black employees only working in back and white employees just being cashiers and servers. It needs more diversity and equality at that restaurant. Those cashiers really need to be humble, polite, and respectful they are not better than anyone else. My money is green just like every other customers
