Where do I start with GDC, the atmosphere, the attentive staff, the decor? Let's start with…read moreservice, food then go into overall experience. Upon entering GDC, we were warmly greeted by the staff on such a chilly night so well received. One thing a restaurant can do is not warmly greet a customer and especially when it's their first time there. This sets the tone of the visit so I appreciated the warm welcome for me and my Mom as first timers. We were sat at a nearby table with a gentlemen who just so happen to be a long time customer who drives pretty far for the food call myself intrigued. Now the bar has been set high. Our waitress asked if we'd visited before and of course we hadn't so she spoke on the menu and the Chef specials. Mom and myself ended up getting the Chef specials. We also ordered the appetizers. Needless to say the food was beyond goodness beyond amazing, it bad to be one of the best dining experiences I've had. I like to consider myself well traveled and coming from NYC I've been to Michelin star restaurants. GDC is definitely up their in the top tier to be in such a small town. Next time I'm in town visiting, GDC is a must visit. Oh yeah, how could I forget. The owner came by our table checked on us a few times and held some small talk. Told us about the photos on the wall that my mom was admiring. The best part is, when my lambchops came out and I was one bone in, he told me to slow down he has something that would blow my mind. He made this freaking amazing maple bacon and pecan sauce (I could have screwed up the ingredients) that I could literally have poured over my entire meal and maybe my own fingers it was so good. Appetizers: Wonton (new item) Sesame Seared Tuna Chef Special: Mahi Dinner with Brussels sprouts and Jasmine rice Lamb Chops with Green Beans and Mashed Potatoes

The appetizers we ordered (stuffed mushrooms & French onion soup) were really good but did take…read morelonger than usually expected for appetizers. We also ordered a Long Island which was strong but lacked flavor so all you could taste was the liquor which is not what I want from a cocktail. Our entrees took 50 minutes to arrive and during that time the server McKenzie did not bother to check on us. Once our food was finished we watched it get set out under the heat lamp but it was not collected by our server until at least 10 minutes after it was set out. We expressed our concerns to the server and were met with disdain and attitude rather than empathy and an apology, the server quite literally had nothing to say when we expressed our displeasure. The food seems great but I doubt I will ever come back to sit down, I watched tables come after us and get served before we did.

What. A. Gem. You must come here. You will love it. You…read morewill be grateful for that food. I am from Texas and my husband's from Kansas. Barbecue is in our bones. This place is going to be the best roadside stop you make. We came here on our drive to SC from Florida and it was so perfect. The staff is so sweet, you feel like you walked into their home. The portions are HUGE, so a good sharing option. We did two plates, one with BBQ chicken and green beans and Mac and cheese as the sides. The other was the ribs with collard greens (best ever) and sweet potatoes (I mean. Seriously). Enjoy the ambiance, the amazing service and please get the green beans. I mean just so good.

Hands down best food in Waynesboro!…read more Amazing meats, perfect veggies, tons of options, and all for rock bottom prices. I'd give 6 stars if I could. I have had a few of their meats and my favorites are the ribs and the porkchops. They really know how to handle pork. As for sides, any vegetable is a winning pick and the mac and cheese is a perfect pairing with any fried food. The service is fast and accurate and their system for running through the long lines works amazing. The restaurant is a bit dated but it Taylor's has been an institution for forever so that's a good sign. This is a perfect quick lunch spot or a quick family dinner spot. Seating is limited but tables rotate pretty quick. If you are wanting a place to sit and chit chat for an hour, I'd suggest taking the food to go.
