Slightly off the beaten path of Highway 25, it is worth the detour and if you call in advance you can pick your order up at the drivethru window! Hello- genius! Drivethru bakery window?! I bought a bunch of donuts for sales calls, and then took a sampling home. I thought the ones I got to try were very good. Cinnamon roll!!!! I also got a small sampling of cookies. I'm not going to lie, chocolate chip and oatmeal raisin really missed the mark. But the sugar cookies and the peanut butter cookies were very good. I've had quite a few...many... several....ok, ok, I've have a whooole lot of donuts in my day so I'm something like an expert ok? And in my years of research I've come to the conclusion that nothing....NOTHING comes close to Krispy Kream...that was until I went to Pineland Bakery. The Apple Bars and Apple Fritters The Boyfriend, The Baby, and I went right as they were about to close....they ran out of donuts...BUT they had apple bars and apple fritters. The bars are made with greek yogurt which is the secret to their moistness (Sorry for those of you that hate the word 'moist' lol) The bars are topped with apple chunks, cinnamon, caramel and powdered sugar....can you say CRACK?! The consistency reminds me of a bread pudding...very delicious! The apple fritters are okay. I wish they had apple pieces on them or in them. The fritters did taste of apple however-just needed more. The Donuts: So my sweet boyfriend surprised me with donuts knowing we missed them last time. They were the glazed donuts. I was pleasantly surprised by the flavor...It reminded me (SLIGHTLY) of Krispy Kream. The texture is more dense and a little bread-like. It's definetly in a class of its own. I like how they aren't TRYING to be like anyone else. The Service: The man who took our order was so kind an friendly. Even though it was closing time, he was so paitent and willing to help us and tell us about the few items displayed...service like that is hard to find these days! Even when leaving and the doors locked minutes after closing, customers were still coming in. Instead of running the customers away, he unlocked the door and welcomed them in. Like the 5 stars say, this is as good as it gets! I am very blessed that when my coworker from Augusta comes to our office, he always makes a stop at Pineland on the way. Today's treats were blueberry croissants, donuts, cookies and cinnamon bread! The office staff was literally fighting over the goods lol. You cannot go wrong with anything you try here. We live in Grovetown and make the 45 minute drive down here probably once a month and every time we have visitors from out of town. Trust me, you won't be disappointed. Make sure to try the breakfast sausage rolls also! You have to ask for them and they're delicious. Especially with the jalapeño mustard! read more

Listen! I can't say enough about this place. It's 30 minutes south of Augusta. It's my halfway stop on the way to my grandmother's house. I'm not ashamed to say that I've driven there just to grab a box of delicious goodness. For me they tie with Lil' Dutch. I have my favorite treat at each one. What's worth the drive and worth sabotaging your diet for? The danish-all of them-but specifically the cream cheese. I get a whole box and freeze them do I can savor one whenever I want. Do I agree that Pineland Bakery has the best donuts, cheese drops, and hot ham and cheese sandwiches..... absolutely! However, I will say that I'm very disappointed in them lately when it comes to customer service. I consistently order donuts and other things ahead of time, especially with a big order, so that hopefully when arriving at a specific time to pick up said order, I don't have to wait another 10min or so for them to make it... only to be disappointed the past 4 times that I have had to wait for my orders. Three times I have had to wait for donuts, and just today I had to wait 10min for cut up ham and cheese sandwiches. (Mind you, I try to say I'm coming 15minutes before I do so that gives them some time, yet they are still late with my order) What was more upsetting about my order today was that they told me they felt bad for my wait, especially since I was the only ticket they had at a time that wasn't busy, that they weren't going to charge for half a dozen of my sandwiches.. yet, they did anyway. Don't get me wrong, I'll still come to indulge in the donuts and sandwiches, but I'll pass on making large orders from here from now on. read more
