$2 Tuesday at Jamaica Way is a Must! Me and four of my friends hit up Jamaica Way on a Tuesday for happy hour and let me tell you -- the $2 oxtail tacos were seasoned to perfection! Tender, flavorful, and worth every bite. We also had some great drinks, all expertly made by Quan -- shoutout to him for keeping the vibes right! Don't miss out on $2 Tuesdays -- they've also got $1 wings, so come hungry. Great food, good drinks, and even better energy. We'll definitely be back! read more

Food was good, service was good. Glad to see an authentic Jamaican restaurant in Augusta. I came in the last hour for the day but the food was good. I wish they had some Mac and cheese left but they were out. Will visit again. read more

I wandered in to find all manner of deliciousness here. First I got a 'to go' plate with oxtails, cabbage, rice, and peas. I added a cold Ting and a ginger beer. As a finale, I grabbed a half dozen spicy patties to munch on for later. The price was worth the savory goodness and I'll be back. read more

I love Jamaican food but this was not it. The eggs were rotten smelling. The rice was hard. The service was okay. There were random noises.

Did delivery order (door dash) with a restaurant I pass while driving around all the time " Jamaica Way" however never managed to stop at the brick and mortar... mistake! The oxtails and jerk chicken was tender and flavorful however could of had a little more spice for my taste but delicious nevertheless. A pleasant surprise was the Mac and cheese was actually good, I enjoyed the beans and rice, not over or undercooked. All in all it was a really delicious meal. If you haven't yet try Jamaica Way, you will not be disappointed. read more

Finally some good Jamaica on the area! They were located on the Ft Gordon army base, review is for the food truck experience only. Customer service was fast and my food was delicious, I was really surprised. Cost for jersey chicken & oxtail meals was $25 approx, not bad for meat, rice beans, and cabbage. Food was seasoned well. I will try the store front later. The only thing I will say be friendly to all your customers, I did notice he was really friendly with the young girls when they ordered. Believe me I'm not interested either, food only. Try them if you are in the area Tip: Be professional and friendly to all customers, you are at work whether you own the place or not. read more

I'm going to be honest. I had given up on Jamaica Way last year because their food & service was terrible ! I stopped going. It was no where near the standard they had on Barton Chapel. In the past month I've been 3 times. This week alone I've been twice ox tail one day & curry goat the next. I think Mrs. Sharon is back cuz bay baayyyyyy the cabbage was perfectly seasoned and cooked down right. Ox tail was on point ! Curry goat gave what it was supposed to give ! Took me back to their Barton Chapel days! I called everybody and told them Jamaica Way got their ish back together !! I've missed them if they turned you off previously like me, give them one more chance. It'll be worth it. Im glad I did. read more

The chicken curry is always good I get 2 plates almost every time I go.They minus we'll sponsor me the way I spend money their.

Once upon a time there was a hungry girl who got lost and ended up going the wrong way...Also known as JAMAICA WAY. Being that the girl is Jamaican and knows how authentic Jamaican cuisine is suppose to taste, she ordered the jerk chicken....any real Jamaican can't muck-up something as simple as jerk chicken right? WRONG!!!! The jerk chicken: Never in her LIFE has she had SAUCY jerk! Hell, never in her life as she KNOWN jerk to be saucy!! Jerk sauce has more of a pasty thick consistency, but when it's cooked on the chicken it finishes like a dry rubbed chicken. WITH THAT BEING SAID, she got WET, SWEET BBQ TASTING CHICKEN (with a hint of jerk). She didn't think it tasted TERRIBLE, but at the same time, she didn't want to bite into a hot dog and taste meat loaf --you know? The piece of chicken was a thigh...a small boney thigh...the poor girl wanted more meat! The rice & peas and cabbage: The rice and peas was ok...nothing to write home about. The cabbage was disappointing...wet and soupy...the best part of the meal was the "homemade" drink (called sorrel). I put quotations because it was manufactured ...NOT homemade at all but delicious. She was nearly in tears- not only because of the weak meal she was eating, but also because she knew she just wasted 11.00. Don't feel sad for her my friends, Instead of drowning in her sorrows, she instead took to Yelp and wrote a review of how BLAH the food was so people won't make the same mistake she did! THE END. read more

Food was horrible I ordered jerk chicken it was dry and hard, macaroni and cheese, only cheese was on top of some noodles. Food was cold I microwaved it at home cheese never melted. I come here often enough. Enough to know that it can be very hit or miss. Sometimes it's great and everything is fresh and delicious. Other times you go, you get old chicken and old Mac and cheese. Yesterday was one of those days. See photos of old Mac and cheese. *sigh* Otherwise, Jamaica Way is alright. I visit once every 3-5 months or so. read more

Disgusting, food had sauce and still was tough and dry tasting.Don't even get me started on the rice they gave me,HARD! Also it was only one person working at the time then oh top of that my order said it was ready but when I got there I had to wait 30 minutes to receive it.Never eating there again. No ambiance, good service, but the food was far below expectations, though I have only gone once a while back. The shrimp in my dish were unpeeled and there was some kind of foreign stick-like object in my food. The soup-type dish was leaking out of the to-go box and there were no redeeming features. Additionally, the inside of the place had flies buzzing around and seemed barely properly furnished. Note that the last time I went was a while back, but I do not recommend this place in any matter. read more

So let me start by saying...my first time at any Caribbean restaurant I get the same thing...oxtail, rice and peas and either plantains or cabbage...We also ordered jerk ribs. While I was disappointed with the oxtail. The ribs were excellent. The sides were just ok. The rice and peas...could have used a shot of coconut milk and salt. We will be returning for the ribs but I doubt I will order the oxtail again. read more

When you don't know what you want to eat and your friend recommends Jamaican ... of course yes !!! I am extremely pleased! Immediately felt like I was back on the island grabbing something to eat! The music was playing and the vibe was set. Great customer service too. I opted for my all time favorite , jerk chicken and coco bread (no beef paddy this time but my friend had it and said it was delicious )!!! The jerk was seasoned to perfection , the rice and peas were great and the plantains ... amazing !!!! The portions is more than I could eat in one sitting. Plus I was on a date so I didn't want to seen greedy :))) I'm already looking forward to my return . All I needed was a rum punch and I would have been in cloud 9! :) read more

Food is good. They don't have lunch on weekends so prepare to pay for dinner prices. I see people complaining about how rude the service is but there is an ongoing joke that all Jamaican restaurants are known to have rude customer service, haha. I think it is just part of the experience. That are not really that rude here, maybe just a culture shock to the polite south. They are also abiding by the social distancing guidelines by having no more than 5 people in the restaurant during quarantine. Prepare to wait outside. I got goat curry, coco bread, spinach patty, and beef patty. All delicious. read more

Twas in the mood for some of Jamaica Ways food, until I called to place my order! The phone attendant's very unprofessional phone skills turned my hunger into a very frustrating NEVER MIND! To the owner, the gate keeper is the MOST important person on your staff for your call in orders! He / she represents YOUR sweat and blood! Now His demeanor screamed he didn't want to be there! He didn't brand the call, I had to say hello, then still nothing, as he mumbled something, I even Said I wanted to place an order and his reply was "okay", at that point I think I caught whatever it was he had because everything in me said I DIDNT WANT TO BE THERE! I didn't want to spend my money there! Please empower your phone attends to smile as they take orders because believe you me people can catch that same attitude and deny you that business! read more

The food is fantastic but the service is so slow. I always order at least 2 hours ahead because he wait time is like 45 minutes or more.

Food is great. The ox tails and gravy are authentic and delicious. The coco bread is a must! Everything I have had so far has been good. It's made to order so patience is a must if you plan on dining here. Once you get your meal it's fresh off the stove. I will recommend it for anyone seeking Jamaican cuisine. read more

would have been 5 stars because the food is very good. Portions are really good. the problem I had was the Jerk chicken was awful! it was so hard. never having that again, so I've been sticking with curry chicken. MMMM good. Last problem I had was today. I ordered my dinner with plantains. When I got to work...NO PLANTAINS!! So I tried to call them. That goes straight to Voicemail that doesn't work! I hate to be hard on them, they're trying. I even fixed their falling plexy glass partition for them, for free, because I believe in doing the right thing, if you can. Come on PPL do it right! I'm still going back! read more

I am a REGULAR customer and I always get the oxtails each time I go and the flavor is amazing EVERYTIME! They are full of flavor and even inside of the bones! You get a GREAT portion of food when you order their dinners I'm not joking! I'd recommend this place ANYTIME for their oxtails read more

I was extremely happy to get some Jamaican food today, especially after rave reviews from my wife's co-worker. I ordered Jerk Chicken and she ordered Ox tails with coco bread and a beef patty. We called in early to make the order because she was hungry. We ate the beef patty in the car and the inside was pretty tasty, but a little more doughy than I like. The jerk chicken tasted more like bbq chicken than actual Jamaican Jerk that I am used too. The sides were pretty good so I have 0 complaints there. i was really looking forward to the spicy jerk tasting jerk chicken that I am used too & I didn't get that here. Overall, decent food, great drink choices and has a small grocery section for Jamaican spices which is cool. I'd rate this place about 3/5 on this visit. Decent food but definitely left more to be desired for my personal tastebuds. read more

No frills dive that definitely has somebody's Auntie in the kitchen! Baby and I had the oxtails and Mr. had the jerk chicken. Plates are served with sides of cabbage along with rice and peas. Lunch prices were $10 for the meal. The sides weren't the most flavorful I've had, but the meats were out of this world. Oxtails falling off the bones and jerk chicken spiced just right! We will definitely return! Minus a star for almost bland sides and a B health score. read more

Unorganized, poor service and high prices with small portions. The person working in back was also coming up in the front then returning to back to work with food again & again I never saw one pair of gloves....the place didn't even smell like food was being prepared. read more

I did a call in order and within the 15 minutes it took me to arrive my food was already waiting on me, and still quite hot. Even though my order was togo, it still looked amazing and delicious. Definitely more than enough for one person. The Jerk Chicken was a tad spicier than I've had at previous locations, but I'm sure each restaurant cooks it differently. The curry chicken was great and quite moist. I also ordered a chicken and a beef patty...very delicious and flavorful. I was thrown off a little however when they put them in little brown paper bags and not to gp boxes. The restaurant was warm not sure if the AC was off or if it was because of all of the cooking going on in the back. read more

Food here is delicious! But my first time there was a terrible experience. I waited about 30 min for my food & on top of that my order was wrong. Also the cashier, she's a young girl, & not the one they should have taking orders. She speaks with a low voice making it hard to hear her with all the noise going on in the back, and when I went up to order and let her know it was my first time she didn't care and said the menu is in front of me, no Hello, how are you?! Nothing of that sort. Other than that like I said the food was great. They changed my order after I complained about being served the wrong food, took another 25 min but it's fine. I probably won't go in next time without calling in the order instead & confirming everything is right. I really hope the cashier can speak louder next time. read more

We ordered through Door Dash and I was not disappointed. The curry was delish and authentic. I want to try everything now!

This place has went way down in terms of taste. I guess their putting their money into the bar they are building. I ordered the snapper. Disgusting no flavor, cabbage was way over cooked and the jerk sauce is just jazzed up barbecue sauce. Also got a side of plantains- waste of money. Hard and not ripe. I'm so disappointed this place used to be really good. But like most places post Covid it's just not the same. read more
